IMFL-less then 2 weeks..

Hi Florida Peeps,

Our bib #'s are up ! 2520 is mine . Packing the bags, using BikeTransport and my DH is leaving for Toronto ( my drop off) on wednesday. So packing all the essential race stuff in one bag. Second bag with secondary stuff on airplane for next tuesday. All set, just need to fit it in the bag and hope it's less then 25pds !

And house needs to be super clean since my sister is coming over to take care of the kids when we are away. Got a massage today, hamstring on my right side a bit tight and getting some ART on it on wednesday. Need it to be ready to fire by race day. I'm happy i'm done with the long stuff. I think the long runs with my off camber road did a number on my right side..

This week's nutrition will be super duper clean. I'm also working on being positive,calm,focused self. And also getting as much sleep as I can.

We are almost there !!!! Can't wait to meet you all !! Again, staying at the Summit and arriving on Tuesday, will be there for dinner on thursday with DH and hoping for some group swims too !

    I'm #953! Lately I've been too busy to get nervous about the race, plus thanks to a year of EN training I'm totally happy with my fitness level this close to the race. Now all that's left is X/B1!

    Since this is my first Ironman, I'm going to let myself get a little caught up in the excitement and enjoy the whole experience!

    Hope everyone's taper is going well, we're in the home stretch now...

    woot - seeing the number makes it real, ya know?  scary and exciting.  I got a lump in my throat.  2359

    I've been working on my packing lists, checklists, race day plan... just posted my race day plan if you want to check it out (for feedback and/or to help you with yours).

    I am really quite amazed to say that as of now I am on target with my workouts this week.  I did the run yesterday at lunch and the swim last night.  I did the brick this morning.  Funny that it took me all season and it's the last real week when I'm finally on track for once!  Better late than never!

    Bib no. 760. Wow, I have to start getting my stuff together! Bike goes to shop tomorrow for tune-up and race wheels. Yikes! See ya in Florida.

    I am getting excited for you guys. Fortunately I swore to myself no IM in 2011, and I'll be out of town pheasant hunting without internet access so no chance to get a spot. Unfortunately I won't be able to watch or track you guys.
    I am curious for someone to give a review on the new airport and new bike course.
    Enjoy the beach, the sun, the sand, and after the race the cheap beer.
    One more thing, when P said it got dark early he wasn't lying. The little avatar on the left is me last year.....that is 5:03 PM (10:03) The picture made it appear darker than it was, and some years depending on when daylight savings falls it gets dark right about the 11 hr mark. Also, PCB is on CST. It is due south of Indianapolis on the US map.

    This will be the first time I'm missing out on IMFL in years. Have fun! You will get the benefit of Daylight Savings unlike last year; an extra hour of daylight on the run; finish in the light!

    #2154 for me, dropped my bike at TBT yesterday with all my gear. So now I'm on the road bike for workouts the next week. I'm starting to get excited, but with work I haven't had time to think about it much at all.

    so, I've spent far too much time on my lists... but I think I have everything... and I do feel better (well, at least that I can be on autopilot next week and a slave to my schedule/checklists)... if anyone is less than type A+++++++ and hasn't done one yet, I'm happy to forward to you to look at and use as a template. It's a word doc (and sadly an older version of word) - I can email it to you.

    Witn TriBike Transport, everything is now en route. I used gallon-size Ziplocs to organize my stuff, and in FL all I'll have to do is take each Ziploc and put it in appropriate transition/special needs bag. The vast majority of my worry is done!
