Oct OS Week 12

Good morning everyone.  Good luck to all of you this week - I know it will be a tough one with Holiday travel and commitments.  I got an early start by skipping the rest day (I know, I will rest later in the week) and pushing the week forward one day.   The last long run before the Disney Marathon will happen tomorrow in chilly, windy conditions.

  • Way to get it done, CR!
  • Out early this AM. Getting used to the dark and cold and better at dealing with it on the bike as another Arctic blast pushes through SoFl. . Toes still getting a little frosty. Guess I will have to tap into the power meter funds and get some wool socks or shoes covers. Especially if the cold weather continues. Any way legs were a little flat today and really didn't get into it until the 3rd Z3 warm-up interval. All felt better for the Z5 Vo2 max work but finishing the remained of the hour in Z 3 was a little challenging

@ CR enjoy Disney, Have done it last 3 years. Fun race! You should enjoy it and if you have young one they will surely have a great time.
  • First workout of the week today. There's nothing better than a set of 30/30's and a quick run to see the light at the end of a nasty head cold.
  • Going into the holiday week. I am trying to get my workouts in. I'm ready to drop a couple if need be, but if I have any free time at all I am ready to jump on it. I hope everyone has a good week whether they are training or building those SAUs.
  • Good run today - nice to get back to a steady schedule and routine.  Legs felt pretty good given the couple of missed workouts, perhaps I'm over recovered and will start to feel it again this weekend!

Everyone have a good holiday and don't forget Santa allows you to ride this weekend

  • Legs are still burning from this AM's ride. Had trouble waling up the stairs.May have to hold on plans for moving Sat. workout to Fri. Was hoping to have x-mas off and be lazy but after this morning my legs my need the rest. Hope all the OOS folks have a great x-mas.
  •  @ DC : I feel the same way. I am not sure if I will be able to move up the Saturday workout.

Just did the last long run - 15 miles in 20 degree F (accounting for windchill).  Was hoping to do 18 miles, but cut it short.  Legs felt heavy the whole time, yet I still hit the pace targets in spite of wearing many pounds of extra clothing.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all.  A sincere thank you for all the support up until now.

  • Did the Saturday brick today and bounced back well from the extra day off. Managed to get 4+ miles in for the 30 minute run. The track sessions are doing their job!
