today went pretty well, given the fact that it started pouring rain about 30 minutes into the ride. overall managed a little over 2 hours and probably would have made the 3 if it weren't for a flat (changed it quick, but was cold once i remounted, so headed home). legs felt fine today and i don't think i would have bonked like yesterday. overall was about .83 IF so a good day. i hope my shoes dry out before Wednesday.
3 hours on the trainer, just did not feel like getting wet today. Have never come any where near close to that before. Had to keep adjusting position, stand every once in a while to give my azz a break. Steady work unlike outside where you get the stop light, coasting, down hill breaks. Very solid workout. Last 1/2 hour time crawled.
Rain forcasted all week. Been a tough spring to train outside, plenty of wind, cold and wetness.
Sunday was sort of a bust for me...did an hour on the trainer and called it a day...rainy outside for me and my legs were pretty tired from Saturday's hard effort of 3.5 hours on the bike and a 25 min run...
My tri bike feels so different on the trainer than it does on the road...I am so much more comfortable outside than inside...
@ Nate - me too..... hour on the drainer was all the mojo i could muster....... sad but true. Tried to get some intervals in this AM in an attempt to get some redemption. Managed 2x12 before time ran out......
Second ride on my Cobb V Flow. Did another adjustment before the ride and was real happy with the result. First time in a while I felt like I could get the watts going in the areobars. Butt is sore but I think the V Flow is working better for me than the Adamo Breakaway. Still testing, but likeing the results so far.
Hit it hard right from the start. Plan was to go at or above 85% till I couldn't hold it any more. Well, it worked... the last 30' I was so shelled just getting home was a killer... at an IF of 0.59. Ouch! But my IF for the 3:30 before that my IF was 0.85.
Overall 3:56 for 73.2 miles; TSS 269; IF 0.829; 18.5 mph
Did mine today with Noodle and David Williams. It was a pretty hard ride, but not a killer. Fun to ride with other people for a change. We knocked out 43 miles in 2:20 or so. Definitely feeling ready for the RR!
Did Mooseman Oly on Saturday. Went into the race with very tired legs, and proceeded to ride the bike too hot with way to many spikes of wattage. Both legs were cramping by end of bike and suffered through the run. I have never felt worse after a race before both gastrically and leg soreness. Was planning do my long bike Saturday afternoon after the race on the 70.3 course, but I had nothing left.
Placed 2nd in AG and 22nd overall. Was hopeing for a little better result, but I learned some things, so it was a good day.
Did not do the long run last Thursday so got out early on Sunday and did 18. That was a death march on some sore and tired legs but I got it in.
Fired up for the LP camp, leaving tonight, will do RR on Thursday.
Needed a couple days to get my legs back after the Patriot Half last weekend. Today's 3:00 ABP ride went very well and i'm feeling like i'm totally back in the swing. IF .808, TSS 184, NP 162, VI 1.06, 58.3m, 19.6mph. Also got in a 1.4m open water swim early this morning.
I got a good one in today as well. 3 hour ride through the Blue Hills turned out an IF .839, TSS 208, VI 1.04, 54 miles. Legs were still feeling part of yesterday's ride, but just kept pushing for each hour on the dial. Also tried out my new Mizzuno racing flats. Not sure if I'll have enough time to get used to them for a long run, but like the direction that I'm going with these.
@Keith which model of Mizuno flats are you trying? I've run Mizuno Waves for some time, but the lightweight shoe thread has me thinking of slowly trying something "less".
@ Henry-- They are the Mizuno Wave Musha 3. It was between them and the Saucony Grid Type A4. I liked the sole on the Saucony's better, but was afraid they would be too tight if my feet swelled at all. The Mizuno's are stiffer as they have some plastic piece that runs the length of the sole. I'll see if I can make them work as I'm moving from the Nike Lunar Trainers which are more like the Mizuno ProGrid Kinvara.

Cut today's 3hr ride short by an hour. Daughter graduating HS today!
Decent ride, covered just under 40m @.81.

Thanks Keith. I might give them a try.
