Race Week Final Arrangements

OK, Lake Stevens Peeps it's time to put up or shut up! It's race week. Don't forget to email your Bio and a picture to John Stark by August 10th so he can put together a meet the team page. Alos I nned to know who is FOR SURE going to the pre-race dinner at Lombardi's on Saturday night and the post race hang out at Fred's Rivertown Alehouse on Sunday afternoon. I don't want to commit to a large group and get charged a group gratuity if only a couple folks show up. So please, please, please respond to this post with which get togethers you are attending and how many will be with you. Tentatively we have reservations at Lombardi's for 14 and 10 at Fred's Alehouse. Times and addresses for these establishments are on the Race Central Info Sheet.

  • @ Steve, I will be at Lombardi's on Saturday night, but won't be able to make it to Fred's on Sunday. I have a bunch of family coming to support me at the race and have lunch plans with them. Thanks for organizing all of this!
  • At this point it would be best to assume I won't be at either the pre-race or after-race dinners. Would love to attend but am staying with family in Arlington and they already planned some dinners around my stay. Also, I sent my bio and photo so I'm good to go there. I don't have my bib number yet since I just registered a few days ago. The site says they will update the participant list the week of the race so I'll keep checking and update the spreadsheet once I have it.
  • I'm in for the dinner, but it will just be me. Wife would rather shop at the Outlets, and I'm not going to tell her otherwise. Probably a no go on Fred's on Sunday, as we'll need to get back down South. Plus, Scott won't be there to buy me the beer he'll owe me when I make up the 27 minute gap on him (we have a little wager going).
  • Wow, how does it feel to have a target on your back Scott? I will be hunting you down as well, but only from 12 minutes out. My goal is to only see Michael as he heads out on the out and back as I am going in to finish.

  • @ Steve, I actually have a 15 minute head start on you (I'm in the M25-29 age group). But I've already come to peace with the fact that you'll be passing me. I'm just hoping it's on the bike and not the swim. Michael's the one that I'm not willing to let pass me.
  • Although I'm not looking to be all speed racer on the bike, I'm gonna pass A LOT of people given I'm starting pretty much last. It'll be a perfect day to go fast, but my real goal is to (finally) have a good run in a long course race. Beating Scott will be icing on the cake, beer flavored icing.
