Anyone Riding Dairyland Dare this Weekend?
I'm doing the Dairyland Dare this weekend - 200K - last ride of the Wisconsin Triple Crown series - definitely the longest - we'll see if it's the hardest (Arcadia's Brute was brutal)! Anyone else? I think Mike B. is?
Perhaps a group photo if there are others riding? We'll probably try to start in an earlier wave (before 7:00 am).

I have to turn it around and get down to Chicago for the RnR half on Sunday to cheer for my wife, so I'm hoping to start as early as they'll let me. Looking forward to trying out my fancy new climbing cassette!
It was pretty rough for me. Maybe too much pre IMOO, I'm a bit worried I'll be recovered enough to take on the RR this weekend. It was a great exercise in hills, that's for sure, but I really struggled to stay in my power target on those things, they were just so extreme that "spike your power or fall over sideways" was the reality far too often.
@Michael IMoo will seem easy after dairyland. How did the the RnR go for your wife?

I started at 6:45 and got the entire 200k in, but it took forever....the last 20 miles required some serious mental strength!
@Sue - Yeah, I should clarify "spike your power" I tried to keep it as steady as I could, but I often was over my power zones on the big hills. My IM gear 2 is 182 watts. My FTP is 260. On the hills I was trying to keep it in gear 4, then I gave up after they got really extreme and just tried to keep the watts < FTP. On Roberts Rd though, I think I saw > 400W for a while.
Overall it was just a huge day for me. Something like 445 points of TSS, IF .75, 7:50something of ride time. I had no idea it would be as hard as it was. I went out thinking "hilly training ride" and 65 miles in I was realizing this was more of it's own event.
RnR went well for my wife, not a PR but she ran hard and had a great day. Thanks for asking!
