I recently heard a quote that rings somewhat true with me: "The deeper you are into any subculture, the less tolerant you become."
I find that I wish I were, like Rich, around endurance athletes all the time. Alas, I am not. I find that I have rather 'ungratuitous' thoughts when I see the types of people that Andrew referred to. Gen and I have talked about this, sort of....we have decided that in the event one of departs this plane of existence, we expect to meet the future Mrs. (or Mr.) at a race. We know that they will have a commitment to fitness.
By the way, when I mentioned to Gen the article that started this thread, her response (tongue-in-cheek) was "So that is why I got breast cancer!! I must have exercised too much!"
