I love, love, love my KICKR! It's so much better than my Kinetic. I've done a couple of 3 hour rides on it and some 2 hour rides and its been fantastic. Can't wait for some awesome apps that should be coming down the pipe soon!

Just got it. Can't use it. My ipad and ipod touch each one generation too old. Cheapest option? Wahoo key? Will this allow me to control and use erg mode vs just seeing output?
How about my ant stick and trainerroad? Though my idea was to have something simple and easy like computrainer ergo mode. Wahoo key (ant+) gizmo and the ipod?
Did my first ride on the KICKR this week and loved it!!! Noise level (wistle) above my TACX Fortius but ride feeling much more "real".
I do have one problem in case any of you have the solution: while the pairing with my iphone was a non-brainer (up and running in a couple minutes) I have not been able to pair my iPad 2. Any suggestions?
the bearings on the pulley of one of my Kickrs went. apparently only an issue with one of the early batch. they sent me a replacement bearing/pulley that i self installed. works fine other than mild rubbing of speed sensor. so they are sending me a whole new replacement machine for free. constumer service great.
Kickr is still the one and only way to go. plug it in. open up the iphone app. go.
I think the KICKR has pretty established street cred by now but I've been using it for about 2 months now and figured I'd share my thoughts on my experiences with it versus my CompuTrainer it replaced:
Better feeling build quality, more stable riding platform
Better road feel, especially at very high wattages where I'd routinely have tire slip on my CT
No more trainer-specific tires / tire wear
Far cleaner / easier setup without wires running everywhere
ANT+ and BTLE, No more man in the middle software like ctANT+
Far less calibration hassle (once every 2 weeks versus multiple times per ride
The calibration thing ended up being a small sounding benefit that became a huge deal for me. I regularly had issues with my CT not returning to ERG mode after pausing or performing a rolldown which would force me to exit my workout and start over again.
Whether or not any of these reasons are compelling enough to warrant taking a significant loss on the switch from a CT to a KICKR is a different story, but if you can make the switch for anything around the price of an even trade then in my opinion it is 100% worth it.
In my case I got a KICKR on black friday for <900 to my door and sold my CT for the same price and have been extremely pleased with the decision.

You'll need the Bluetooth 4.0 to control it now. Sounds like a reason to buy a new iPad to me.
