How great to hear that you are going to keep this in your regime Niels. The intent of these challenges are to introduce new things to the team and by doing that some of us see what it is that we are missing (Rachel H). It literally takes no time at all to add it on after a bike or a run before a stretch. If you have less aches and pains this year and your bike and run are better, then I hope you will sing it from the roof tops that this core challenge might of had something to do with making you stronger :-)
Those last week was incredible! That raised plank is hard. Thanks for getting me motivated Brenda. Will keep this up in the new year...maybe at the week three level
Phew! Made it:-) I started out week 1 doing more/longer than required; not realizing how much it went up each week! Got up to 2 min planks and 1 min side planks and 2 and 3 minute bridges! Geez.. It was starting to take a while! Thanks Brenda!!
I hadn't planned on finishing this challenge today, but reading that Scott so valiantly did so, inspired me to get my core on.
This was tough - especially the plank, then push up sequence.
Personally, I would love to see a maintenance challenge. I find when I don't plank or push up, I lose whatever strength I gained. I birthed my daughters via c-section so having a strong core has been an Rx of every PT I've been to.
Will I make it?? After a very delayed start, I've been getting the core circuits in every other day for the past week+. 3 more (tough) wkos to go before NYE. Will try to finish off week 3 tomorrow, so I can hit week 4 on Sunday and Tuesday. Can really feel the fatigue in my core during the run & bike wko's. Guess that means I should continue with this beyond the challenge. Really glad to have signed up!
I finished today too! It was part of a strength wko-weighted bridges, lateral raises, reverse lunge, dumbbell row (all 15 pounds)then the push-ups and crunches. Worked the planks in there with the push-ups!
Got it done but it wasn't easy. Past 2 days were skiing with 2 little ones most of the day. Watching out for little ones all day makes skiing more difficult and "slingshot"-ing them with my pole to keep them moving towards the lift (they are wo poles) really works those side muscles. At least I didn't end up in the trees like my wife did at one point (she is a better skier than me though). Did the last core routine after my mile repeats...should have done them before. I'm looking forward to a rest day tomorrow.
It took everything I had to get this ladt one done during halftime of the bears-packers game. Good to be dome and I am so ready to stop all this Holiday stuff and get back to my normal routine.
Done! Took a few extra days, but my first wko was on Dec 16th, so thrilled to have finished. Looking forward to doing this 2x per week (3.5x per week is too much!)
Finished! Actually not really finished -just changed up the routine a bit -still trying to do core 2-3 days/week now trying to do "fighters abs" vids once a week (these wipe me out!) and then more swim-core focused other times. Never saw a way to log my workouts like the holiday run challenge.
David, first page of this thread had a link to the spreadsheet for you to record your workouts. For future: All challenges I create have an opening thread with all the information about the challenge and a place to record your results :-)

Finished!!!! That was the truth! If I can only find the motivation and commitment to continue during OutSeason....
