@EB... your training adjustments always make me smile cause your thinking for yourself (self-coached athlete) using the guidance but then adapting to what works for you and your schedule! No I'm not swimming 4k 3 times a week... I have picked up swim volume a lot but still only getting 4k or more 1-2times per week, the shorter sesssions are recovery and or speed work.
Great Stuff on the swimskins.... I have read several studies on ST that are very similar.... While I havent done my own when I do use a swimskin in the pool I can tell I'm a little faster with less effort!
Awesome run today.... Longest of the year.... 16miles in 2:08, 11 miles EP w/walking 20 steps per mile, then 5 miles Hard no walking.... MY EP is 8:24 and those 11 miles ranged 8:11-8:30, MY MP is 7:09 and those 5 hard miles were 7:08-7:26.... NOWHERE near HIM and I AM very happy with this effort.... http://connect.garmin.com/activity/474887161#
Good work all! I am hoping that I am kicking the tail end of this cold that is rolling thru our family. Looking forward to RR #1 and stay at home "camp" later in the week. Especially the day after the RR. Right now if I put in solid work on the RR (thursday) I am giving myself permission to spend the day on the road bike on friday. Hope that everyone has a great week.
Got the long ride in today. Decided to go north into the "Hill Country", almost got 5K ft of climbing. Did the first three hours @ 0.79, then the last 2hours at 0.73. Felt good, less neck fatigue and taint discomfort.
