@Jacklyn Moore Thank you! Short answer: Potentially. We have thought a lot about that and also have thoughts around a second camp leader if there is a full second house. For now we're letting the dust settle so as not to duplicate efforts with "what-ifs" as we have plenty of time between now and then. PM me if you have a specific scenario you'd like us to consider! And thanks again!
- Tri Camp Bend is a BIG go. We have two homes reserved and they are *almost* full.
- We DO have room for a few additional campers. Ideally we'll kidnap (errrr recruit) at least one more couple (at this point they'd have a private room) and even an additional single or two. Recruit your friends! Shenanigans! https://edwardsmjoj.wixsite.com/tricamp (Super secret password is "Bend")
Friendly Reminder:
- Final payments are due 03/31/18. Please and thanks.
- House Captains: We could use a few volunteers to help keep an eye on logistics at each home. Ideally we'd have at least one "point person" for each that could help with check-in, check-out, toilet plunging (KIDDING), and the like. Is that you? If so, holla!
- Foodies: Anyone out there with culinary or at least basic organizational skills? We are looking for a person to take on each of the two dinners, keep an eye on groceries at each house, etc. to make sure no hangry happens.
- Pinch Hitters: And if you have a skill or proclivity that you'd like to offer up to the team other than the two aforementioned, please don't hesitate to piing us on that too. It takes a village...
- If you're a potential "Team Player" please reply back sometime this month (January) and we will fold you into the planning shortly.
More deets to come as we go and don't hesitate to reach out with questions in the interim.
Cheers, Shenanigans and Cowbell!

Thought I would share a pic from my ride around Bend today to get ya fired up. These are the Three Sisters. Snow finally happened about 4 months late. Nice to have some. This is typical road and terrain around these parts.
Quick pano pic from my gravel ride today. Looking south towards Sunriver 20 miles in the distance. Was in Sunriver last weekend. Still a bit of snow along the roads. Hope to get out there to ride and get some local pics for ya in a few weeks. Will look very similar to above.
Greetings and THANKS for to mojo photos @JohnStark!
Tri Camp Bend cometh! A big thank you to those of you (most, actually!) that have already sent final payment for camp. Tri geeks are so very organized. :-) Also, thanks to our volunteers to be Team Players - let the toilet plunging commence!
Shenanigans await and we do have space for another couple or single. Point 'em to the web site or directly to either of us for assistance.
More to come... please don't hesitate to reach out in the interim should you have any questions or ideas.
Snow here yesterday. Sunriver is 20 miles away and ~ 500 feet higher in elevation so they got more. Hope to gravel grind to Sunriver in a few weeks and get some pics from there. More soon.
Also.....
if anyone has a spouse or whatever who doesn't want to do tri-geek hamerfests and do a casual MTB or road ride, I am happy to lead. I have access to rental bikes and MTB's at 50% off daily rates.
Made my plane reservations and getting ready for some shenanigans. Any input on road bike vs tri bike? No upcoming IMs to worry about this is just for fun and good training. One thought process is just staying on Jenn's wheel then roadie but catching her after she drops me on the climbs then TT.
I will be taking my road bike. Mostly for comfort and so I can enjoy a good look around. There should be a fair amount of climbing too. (Don't shoot me for saying that).
@Jenn Edwards- Any idea what the routes are going to look like for the bike?
I've noticed that very few camp people take tri bikes. ie ToC, Blueridge or Al's. I already know that I am going to get dropped. I just need a map. Like Lassie I will find my way home. No worries.
I'm planning to take my road bike, because I am now planning to ride my road bike for IM Canada - 3 times up the Callaghan on a Tri Bike for this 60 year old body = no fun.
Yep, yep.... come as you are regarding the bike is my opinion. Some folks may want time on their tri bike simply for race prep, some folks may be more comfortable on a roadie. I don't even OWN a road bike (shhhhh.....!!!!) so you'll know what I'll be riding.
I do have some routes in mind based on @JohnStark 's input, what we saw on our reconnoissance trip, and will vet those with others with experience in the area along with the varying goals of campers. Of course plans may change but we'll do our best to be prepared for most scenarios. And yes, there will be maps, lots and lots of maps!
Feel special because YOU have a spot in our now SOLD OUT camp. We had a couple of additional campers join us since our last update. And just for good measure, it's not just a "full house" but TWO full houses. An updated roster and room assignment overview is below.
Planning is well underway. We really need your help honing in on a few details. Please complete this survey by this Sunday, April 29th for the best possible experience.
Tri Camp Bend recap videos! Full disclosure - I allotted a maximum of 60' for editing so not exactly cinema worthy but SO MUCH FUN nonetheless. I heart our team!

Ride on.

mentioned, but also because you're more likely to be riding with others.
