IM COZ : Q for those who did it or know the place.
hello Team
Thinking of racing IM COZ in 2020:
some Q for u:
- does IM COZ usually sell out, if it's the case, how fast?
- Site says disc wheels are permitted but I don't see any bike with disc on videos and pix
- best place to stay
- what to do/avoid
- Best way to get there
might have follow up Q...
thx for all tips

@DAVID RICHMOND Its really been a long time since I have done the race. They have changed the swim to be point to point the year after I did it. Here is a link to my RR which has a link to my Plan for Coz but I think @Shaughn Simmons will be your go to guy for more current info.

@DAVID RICHMOND
I will post race report in the coming days. I've finished this one twice, 2012 and 2019.
KMF!
thk u guys
@tim cronk the link to the plan does not work (brings me to the EN bike/run calculator)
@DAVID RICHMOND I dont think there is anything pertinent to your questions in the plan but here it is for your amusement . Its fun to go back and read what I planned and raced 6 or is it 7 years ago.... Yeah COZ maybe the place I go for unfinished business when I come out of retirement. Definitely good race for you. No wetsuit swim and hot!

@DAVID RICHMOND: I’m considering IMCOZ 2020, and am looking forward to the @Shaughn Simmons RR. A quick glance at the 2019 results showed showed fast times in my AG. Apparently, there were lots of Europeans on the island, and they dominated the top-ten M60-64 spots. Heat and wind are always present to some degree, but the course is beautiful, and I’m looking forward to the no-wetsuit swim over a coral reef! I spent too much time looking at hotels and all-inclusive resorts. VBRO found me a beautiful condo very near the finish line for a refundable, relatively low price. Kitchen will give me control over pre-race meals, and apparently the nearby hotels provide transport to T1 on race morning... even if you aren’t a guest. Transportation, particularly with a bike is a negative. I hope that a flight to COZ works, but many find the ferry trip to be OK as long as they give themselves adequate time. I’m staying after the event to do some diving, so Tri-Bike Transport is attractive... but it is expensive, and will require going 9 days without my bike right before a big race 😳
@DAVID RICHMOND I answered several of your questions in my recently posted RR:
