Not on EN spread sheet, just checked IM Lou tracker and there is a 70 mile split for Barb! Keep Pushing Barb! With time trial start, she has until 6:30 pm to make bike cut off. Come on Barb go, go go. can you hear our cheers!

YEAH!!!  Oh, that makes me so happy!  Whew!

Matt does look great!  So excited for these guys!

  • Dave Tallo also does not appear on our EN IMC tracker. He's doing a six week turnaround I think from his last IM. He swam 1:03, and biked  5:24 - 10 minutes faster than Chris Whyte. He's now 30th in 40-44. His number is 1042.

Ironmanlive.com needs a SERIOUS bandwidth upgrade. They are totally overloaded at this point in time, 5:40 EDT/2:40 PDT

  • AAAHHH! Just as Dan G. Was crossing the finish line I lost the feed!!!!
  • Just saw matt S. cross line flashing the gang sign!!!

    Said 11:52:xx

  •  I still can't get anything, apparently, WTC has  some virus attacking the site interrupting service.

  • WOW!! How consistent was Dan!!! SUPAH JOB!

  • The word on the swim in Canada is that yesterday's high winds blew the buoys around, shortening the course by 200 meters or so.

    AWESOME!

  • That makes sense, Bill. One guy in my AG there, who always swims same time as I do (68-70 min) did 64 today. So I'd guess closer to 250 meters longer.

Matt S really executed to perfection. He's 54, so next year, when he moves up, he could surprise himself. I'm worried he'll be beating me at IM CDA!

Anyone know what the temps were in Louisville today?

  • I heard 94 degrees and HUMID!
  • I checked accuweather and they had a high of 95, but the humidity was only around 40% depending on the time of day. Whether that's humid depends on where you are from!! Still, that kind of heat is TOUGH.
  • Just checked the tracker, we got some peeps pacing very evenly!!

    That's awesome! So exciting!

  • Just saw Aimee cross the line 13:23:00. She looked awesome!
  • So proud of everyone out there today! I've been glued to the computer all day! Too bad the ironmanlive tracker and video really took a crap later in the day.

For those of you who know Dean Kesler (my soon to be ex husband), he finished Ironman Louisville today, on his way to finishing 3 IM's this season. His first this year was Ironman CdA, where he was actually hit by a pickup truck around mile 70 of the bike, but was eventually able to finish the bike and marathon after being cleared by EMT's and determining that the crack in his carbon frame (and helmet) was stable enough to go on. He finished Louisville today while still doing rehab for injuries sustained at CdA. Wisconsin will be his 3rd IM this season. Pretty amazing story.
  • Just checking in. Looks like some great results...2nd and an 8in in AG! Awesome job everyone!

  •  Last year there were 7 Kona slots at IMC, rolled down to 11, so that ought to do it for Chris.

  • Bill,

Buoys are set up on race day.   Transport Canada doesn't allow buoys to be set up say, on Saturday.

Awesome!!!!  Anyone know if Matt is going to Rolldown at Lou?  Ya never know!

  • @Nemo - good morning - I plan to go to the roll down meeting to see the process. The M50-54 group typically has 2 slots, so the chances of it making it down to me are about as good as being on the run course yesterday day and seeing all participants in sight running!!! Often you could look forward on the run course on both sides of the out road and see no one running! Boy was it HOT!
Will get the RR up in the next day or so.
    Matt
  • Awesome. Good Luck Matt! Even if you don't get a slot, you had one hell of a day out there! Congrats!
  • Nemo
Your wish of luck strengthened the force enough to ………………………. I GOT A KONA SLOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When my name was called, my wife, Sandra, stood up and screamed while I sat there trying to process what I thought was the impossible, tears of happiness beginning to form. The icing on the cake was some of the EN team was there to share my joy! Aimee H, Scott L, and Rick J. were there. Being part of the EN team made this possible and I it was such a joy to see their true excitement for me.
    RR to come.

    Matt
  • Oh Matt. Oh Matt. WOW! Congratulations! WOW!
  • Matt!!! WooHoo, that is simply AWESOME!!

  • I'm so happy for you Matt!!! That's just fantastic.
  • That is sooooo awesome Matt! Sounds like the wife is psyched! You did well and I saw you cross the finish line. Great job!
  • Congratulations on a fabulous race!
