Iv'e been out too since starting the VO2 Max stuff....
I still have a lot going on between rehab for my calf, ramping the run volume for Boston, sticking to the OS - should be somewhat easier now that the VO2 crap has 'mostly' passed (saturdays seem to require 120% sets). I also started swimming. Mostly to take advantage of swim lessons during the semester - once a week, 8 weeks.
I really do need to get back to doing core and pushups..... but not quite as agressive as the 100 PC. I'm thinking more like 2x40 or 3x30 twice a week on swim days.
Go get 'em Scott... I'd love to see you earn the '100 Pushup Crown' Keep posting so we can see your progress.....
I am still plugging away. Just keep repeating wk 6 mostly 2 and 3 column. I do still want to get to 100 but looking at it more as part of my core routine at this point.
I have been doing the very slow build that you recommended. This is the first week that I am severely off track. My upper back is sore from shoveling snow. So I guess I am on hold, but hope to resume next week.
Did the challenge last year, with the end results after two trys with 75. Started again with everyone right before I went on break from Oct to Jan. Tried again in Dec and only managed 50 this time Then I hurt my wrist during a conditioning class and had to back off AND I was fried on pushups!
I may try it again, or at least get back on the regular schedule of doing the said # per week. I am really doubting I will be able to do 100...that is a heck of a lot to do at one time. honestly Michele, how did u do that last year??!!! Has anyone else produced 100 this time around?
@Kathy- I swear that the energy we all had for IMWI carried me through so much! This year I struggle like you would not believe. I am not even testing. I am just doing the push ups for fitness and some upper body strength.

Michele, I think u could be right. Lots of mojo with IMWI peeps last year, that was fun! This year not feeling it at all. But I'm with you, not likely to test again, but may get back into the schedule...it did help a ton with upper body strength.
Well all, I've finally decided to call the game! I'm out on this challenge. Getting some shoulder stress during the pushups; not painful after-just during, and providing a weaker right side on the push upward.
So, I'm going back to a more complete strength approach with the chest/back and shoulders/arms workouts of the p90x program. We'll see if we can hold out on that.
At the end of the tri season, I'll try to embark on the pushups again, probably starting out using the modification method I've been using, but to start with it.
Best of luck to those of you that are still doin it!
Heck of a try Scott.... you hung in there longer than most..... I had to bail after 1 week in the VO2 Max sessions..... now I am swimming twice a week...just not enough time for everyting....

I just completed Week 4/Day 3, for the second time, 164 total.
Anyone else still enduring?!?
