Official Ironman Hawaii Tracking Thread!
It's here! It's Kona Day!!!!
The pro's are off and the age groupers start in another 15 minutes. The big news so far is Chrissy Wellington has pulled out of the race due to illness. No real word if its or . In any case, it's gonna make the womans race more interesting.
Looking forward to watching our folks out there today! Good luck team!

We've got Brad, Matt S, Matt A, Steve, and Cort.
We also have Former EN Chica, Colleen Capper (once a Chica, always a Chica) out there. Still waiting for her to show a swim split.
Great job on the swim. I am following the race while trying do to a paper and this in not going so well.

Poor Chrissy. This is worse than your pro tour boyfriend not showing up to the Tour.

Take heed of Lisbeth Kenyon (Todd's wife)! She was age group champ last year, and plans to repeat that this year! Here's hoping! So far, 1:04 swim, 3' transition, and 22 mph on the bike. I kinda silently idolize her--mom of 3, real world athlete, supremely talented and making the most of those gifts! Nicest person you'll ever meet too. Girl crush.
That's awesome. I love watching the pros like everyone else. But the thing I love most is watching the AGers dominate out there AND manage to juggle real life. Totally inspiring. The best part of triathlon if you ask me
I'm looking for Matt A to be @ 2:25-2:30 at the Hawi split (59 miles), and Matt S to be at 3:00. If they hit those, they'll each be on target for the races they're capable of. Remember, Matt S is doing a 6 week turn around from Louisville.
For the Pros, I'm still sticking with Andreas Raelert as my pick, unless Lieto has at least 6-7 minutes on him.
Hard to be certain but it is (surprise surprise!) starting to look hot and windy !
No mile 88 split for Mancona??
Oh dear. Nothing. I bet it's the tracker.
So, the woman they showed not making the swim cutoff is an acquaintance from B'ham. Historically, a very solid swimmer. Got a lottery slot, never done an IM. Hate for her the day ended so soon.
I have a whole other opinion about the lottery, particularly for someone that hasn't ever finished an IM. Not for this thread though.
Watching the male pros leave T2, it's clear that EN run strategy is not on thier minds. There's NO WAY Maik Twielsik (sp?) can keep up that pace thewhole way.
I'm cheering for Mirinda Carfrae too, who just moved into 2nd. Go Rinny!!!
5:17 bike split for Mancona!!
