IMLP Sherpa Lodging for 2011?

  • I'm racing IMLP 2011 and haven't made lodging plans. I was thinking about just sleeping in my Eurovan, but would be interested in more plush accommodations!
  • Ladies, I think you can also rent a cottage at the KOA. I have a friend who stayed in one this past year. Apparently they rent fast, but

i just know that it was fairly cheap... slept a lot of people and had a small kitchen setup. Nothing fancy but it did the trick

You might want to check that out as well. I will be staying just up the road at the Whiteface Lodge with my hubby and some gals from my home town of Ottawa and it would be cool to meet you gals, which would be especially easy if you were at the KOA.

  • I realize most bowed out of the experience.  I am about to book a tent site at the KOA (and sleep in the car because I don't camp).  Throwing one last call out there if anyone is interested in trying to get a house in town.

  •  Carly, while I would still love to come, I'm not sure where I will be in terms of vacation at this point since I'm looking for a new job.  I will, however, camp with you if I decide last minute to come and can secure a KOA camp site.  I'll keep you posted.

  • Chica's.....I exited this conversation last fall ( October) planning on going to LP to volunteer and then to sign up.  By reading a lot of the posts, seems like peeps are leaning on not going.  Same with me.  Not because of WTC, finances mainly with me.  Just too much $$$ this year, trying and needing to keep costs down after last year expenses with IMWI.  My plans are to do local tri's, including a half end of July, that is also local.  Still planning on Marine Corps Marathon in Oct. Though that may change as well, playing it all my ear this year. Still planning on IM in 2012, not sure which one yet.  Prolly not LP.

@Beth---so sorry I said I was going last fall and that you and Sheryl and I were planning on driving together....sorry to leave you in the lurch   Sometimes it is hard to make plans so far out, especially when life decides to dictate other plans!  Hope it didn't mess up your plans and disappoint too much.
