Ha ha Larry! Actually this week I had friends in town so visited the strip more than I would normally and honestly, after one or two nights there I'm sick of it!
So I've been meaning to introduce myself for several weeks, and am FINALLY getting around to it . I am 27 years old, live in Seattle, WA, and work as a structural engineer. I've been working for the same firm for the past 3-1/2 years, ever since finishing school. I attended the University of Idaho as an undergrad and the University of Washington for grad school. I am single, but have great parents and a brother and sister-in-law who all live relatively close by.
I've always been into running, doing track and cross country back in junior high and high school. I completed my first half marathon my senior year of high school (November 2001). I didn't do a whole lot of running in college, but got back into it in 2007 when I completed my second half marathon and then finally did my first full marathon in 2008.
In that same year (2008) I started getting into triathlons and did my first sprint and olympic distance races. In 2009 I completed my first half ironman (Chelanman Long Course). Then in 2010 I ended up completing Ironman 70.3 California (although not very fast since I was recovering from a foot injury), and Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens. I topped off the year with a finish at Ironman Florida, although with lots of stomach issues on the race , with a time of 16:36.
This year I will be doing Ironman Coeur d'Alene and I'm looking for a HUGE improvement. Using EN, I should be much more fit on race day, and I'm definitely going to be focusing a lot on my race day nutrition, especially on the run.
So that's about it. I'm going to be making a bigger effort to be more involved with the discussions in this group, as I've been more of an observer up until now.
Thanks for introducing yourself and welcome. Already saw you post over on the testing site. You get out of it what you put in, so glad to see you putting in! Scott
