Week 8

 Okay, so I only had time for one of the 15' intervals today - but here's the thing - my new FTP is 162, which puts my Z4 at 142-148. But I did this 15' interval at avg 162W 100% - and had no problem with a second. so I am thinking I screwed up the bike test. Sigh. last time I did the same thing.

Off to Calgary today - so no long bike - what to do? extra run or maybe some yoga?

  • Jane, We are in week 9; not week 8. Just kidding! I know most started a week after me.

    Perhaps you rode harder because you knew you weren't going to do the second interval? I've done that before. Regardless, you can always move your targets up without retesting and see if you meet the goals or find them too hard and dial it back. Given that VO2 is coming your way, I suspect it won't matter too much.

  • @ Jane, I think your zones are off. Zone 4 should be 95-100%, which for you would be 154-162 watts. Maybe double check that you added your new test into the Data Tool.
  • Hey guys. Felt like Rocky when he went to Russia to train last night while I was doing the bike workout by lantern in a dark cold basement ( no electricty). Anyhoo, got it done. 4 x 2.5 at 1.20,1.21,1.22,1.22, then 1 x 12 at .86 and 1 x 9 at .87. Have a nice weekend everyone.
