  • I don't even want to ask.
  • X2 on Drymax socks.

  • DarnTough are another nice brand of wool socks - got some for Xmas.

Cost no object my favorites are Drymax Maximum Protection. 2 marathons in them and never a hot spot or blister. http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpage-DMMPRS.html

Drymax has probably replaced Balega as my go to brand...
  • Hey Tom, not the answer you were looking for but I went sockless over a year ago and have had no more blisters than I did with socks. The first week or so will beat up your feet a little, but once you adjust it's well worth it in my opinon. Plus you get faster transitions and have less laundry to do.

Of course running in shoes designed to be sockless (like Zoots ;-) ) definitely helps.
  • @Matt. Anything you do to protect feet, even to toughen them up? I was thinking taping toes, body glide etc.

  • Stumbled onto this thread. Think this is super helpful information so I'm updating it to see if anyone has any new thoughts on socks. I just ordered four different pairs based on feedback in this thread.
