People can complain about logistics, but after negotiating my way by foot with lungs filled with dust all the way from the WTC to the Upper east side too scared to stop for anything on September 11, 2001, or walking from Wall street to Borough Park Brooklyn, back to Manhattan and eventually out to Jamaica queens a couple of years later with the massive black-out, the logistics aren't all that bad. Hot and Humid - Yes.....but then try riding the subway to Wall street every summer. New Yorkers are used to this type of "inconvenience" and the view coming into Manhattan in the early evening will be spectacular. Luckily WTC has expanded to help accommodate all racers have a race suited for their particular preferences..
And now the "NY City" Ironman everyone has been waiting for. Except note that most of the course is actually in New Jersey and the title kinda says it all. Hints of what is to come.
nemo, note that the "new york" jets & giants both play in New Jersey
also for all of those of you doing this expecting a downcurrent swim, note that the hudson river is actually a tidal estuary pretty far up, check your tide tables for the current direction on the day of the race
