>>> 2011 Ironman Arizona Race Day Tracking Thread! (PICTURES INCLUDED)

 Hi All:

I will post the Race Tracker and Meet The Team links when they get up this week.  Just trying to get my race director admin stuff done before I head off to AZ for the event in a couple of days.

Since I will be on site and also walking the run portion of the race because of my knee issue, does anyone wanna join me in a special GroupMe group and I will post updates from the venue before, during and after the event so you can update this thread with info directly from the course?  I will have my phone on the run course and can take pics, give updates, etc.  You can ask questions, etc. while I am on the course. :-)

You don't have to be online all day.  Just update when you can.  Or just follow along.

If so, post your mobile number here (or PM me) and I will add you to "EN IMAZ Live Updates" group.

  •  Hi All:

Looks like the Race Tracker isn't going to happen for IMAZ this year.  Issues beyond our control.  You will need to you the IM Live tracker.

  • Is that Al's lucky "I'm qualifying for Kona" shirt?
  • Is the EN tracker working?

  • Thanks Nemo for the updates!
  • Only seeing 2 people without swim times. Hoping they are all through and on the bike. Looks like pretty good conditions so far!
  • 11:45 central time and I'm not seeing any bike updates yet, despite them being 3:45 into the race. People should be somewhere near the 30 mile bike mark soon.
  • Spent a couple hours at the bike mount line and got some great video. Now hitting the bike course and will be on the mill ave bridge at mile 20 for the rest of the day. Next time I need to look at the bike and run courses. They made a couple small changes and have thrown my mojo for a loop...
  • OK, now they're starting to come through!  Both Ambrose and Samojeden were through the first bike time check when I looked.

  • Was watching video at the turn-a-round and SHOCKED how many were making that with their inside pedal DOWN. Come on Triathletes - we know better - this is biking 101.

    INSIDE PEDAL UP :-)
  •  Updated Chart below.  Lots of first bike splits now.  IMLive is messed up though because I know Steve Ford is out of the water and yet when I try to pull his results it doesn't show his time for me.  So I'm guessing the other folks below with missing results might be in a similar situation.  If anyone can fill in the blanks, that would be awesome.

  •  Since the EN Tracker is currently down, I've whipped out a rough tracker for the EN'ers racing IMAZ.  It's rough, it's dependent on Ironman Live's data, and it takes a while to load, but it seems to be working most of the time.

    http://marcrobards.net/entracker/

I'll be making improvements, but wanted to get it out while there's still a good bit of the race left.

  • YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Marc, this is awesome!
  • Looks like Jordan Rapp dropped out in the bike leg somewhere. Perhaps bad karma coming full circle? After his comments on ST, I can't help but feeling he deserves a bad day out there despite his great comeback last year.
  • I've updated the tracker, clicking on the column header now sorts the column. It's something I've always wanted on the tracker!

    http://marcrobards.net/entracker/

  • Looks like lots of 2nd bike splits coming in and several ENers are now on the run! Woohoo!
  • Jeremy is rocking it
  • Marc WTC needs you bad!
  • Stark says he had the worst swim ever and almost puked. Then his hip locked up on him at mile 1 of the bike, but he's on the run now. He also said it's a beautiful day with little wind.
  • Thanks for the update Scott!
