What's everyone doing after the OS?
I'm ready for a change. What is everyone doing next?
The transition timing couldn't be better. I'm taking a 10-day trip from San Diego to San Francisco with my family March 27 through April 5. I'll try to run and swim as I can, and once I get to SF, I'll get in a few epic mountain bike rides in Marin County with my brother and do a 7-mile trail running race with my sister-in-law. Does anyone know any good OWS swim groups in San Diego? I'd love to do an early am swim in the ocean, but I ain't going by myself.
After that, I'm doing the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile race on April 11, an Olympic Tri on April 17, and then settling into a few weeks of general prep before starting my IMLP 12-week plan the first week of May. I'm still deciding whether to do a century or a HIM on May 8. And I'll be going up for the IMLP Camp June 10-13.
And a two-mile swimming race Memorial Day weekend. And a downhill 10k on April 25 to try to break 40'.

I'm doing a half-mary 4/3 which I'll push the pace and use to benchmark myself. Best time last year was 1:43, hoping to see if I can do about 1:38-1:39. Then doing an Oly end of May and crusing till the IMLP camp 6/10.
Does anybody know when the next block of training plans will be put up to view, etc...?
I'm actually still fine with the OS, but my bike mojo (or lack there of) is ready for a break!
After my Vdot race tomorrow I'm done with the OS and headed to Grand Cayman on vacation for some much needed rrelaxing and diving. I so need the change and down time then when I get back I'll kick it back up in April with a Du and a half mary, then can't wait for the Epic ToC in May. Not sure yet on a HIM in early June or try and make the IMLP camp then race mode to Crush LP.
Ummm back for some more OS, after a break sort of. I recently did not season toolkit analysis and realized that I should have started with the January OS. Well I started my run with that group so I am going to take two weeks off the bike, continue to run and get in the pool for a change of pace. That will put me back in week 14 where I will do another 7 weeks of Jan OS. At that point I am taking two weeks transition and then will hit the IM plan in to Canada.
My only worry about the extra 7 weeks is burnout so I will have to watch myself during the extra 7 weeks. Honestly I have reached my bike goals for the OS so the extra 7 weeks is just a bonus. My focus will be on the run and getting back to the pool here and there so if I miss a bike workout or two it won't kill me. I just have to set up the limits, like a minimum of two bike workout to hold myself accountable or 4 over two weeks. I don't have a number yet but that's my thoughts.

Then into IM training.
Tour de Cali, a couple of halfs and then Roth in July.
Giddyup!
It's been a great 4 months all.
Last week of OS!! Yeah, really ready for a change of scenery! Taking two glorious weeks off! Honestly, I used to think I was training hard, but it would appear to me at this point, that this is the hardest I have ever worked in the off season, ever! Prolly will just do some fun stuff. Then starting HIM training April 5th. I have not trained with a lot of volume this early in the season, so kind of scared about in the volume increase plus all my other responsibilities. But seems like others can pull it off, so gonna try to make it happen.
Three more weeks of OS for me and I am doing a half marathon this weekend. I am also racing Escape from Ft Desoto and the St Anthony's Tri in April. Maybe I will drive over and watch the Florida 70.3 and cheer on my EN teammates. Then its time for my IMKY prep. Is there really such thing as training time off?
I'm still hanging on to the shreds of OS as I took an early Transition and went to Argentina last month.
Then on to ToC, Cowgirl camp, maybe an mountain bike race or two...

Crazy it's been 20 weeks already. What a blast. Finishing OS this week and then taking family to Tampa for spring break next week. Perfect transition time. Will do some fun running but I hear the Gulf temps are in the 50s so I may try to find a pool for some swims. Tune-up Oly in April with Keith B then race prep for Eagleman 70.3 in June. Two week family vay-kay in Seattle in July (may look for a fun race out there) then gear up for Patriots Half in September. Dreaming of long weekend summer rides ahead. Don't even want to think about starting the next OS!
I have Lake Placid on the calendar and am hoping my running injury heals so I can keep it on the calendar.
In the meantime, I'll be riding in preparation for a few spring bike races. This will be the 2nd year of bike racing, so I'm hoping to get some good finishes so I can upgrade from a Cat 4 to a 3.

Speaking of mojo I passed through a small community here in southern Spain today on the bike named "El Mojo". Maybe that's how I got my mojo back. :-)

I just wrote "Two Weeks of Super-Epic Fun" on the white board.
And then it is time to kick it up a notch and start training for the High Cliff 1/2 in June.
Just finished a 2 hour run in prep for a 1/2 marathon I have at the end of April. Might get in one more bike before turning off the switch in the pain cave. Plan some fun runs next week and a swim, then we are up at the cabin for spring break week. There are a couple of hot springs nearby for some pool time with the kids.
