Dan, I think you're asking what should the IF be? Target for most VO2 workouts is 110% or greater.
VI tends to be high, as the rest intervals are often half of the on interval, so I'm not sure it's a helpful metric.

Rides with high VIs would be lots of hard work and lots of easier work. Not sure Rich would buy into lots of the easier stuff
