  • I got 1 on Fleetfeet, 1 on Eastbay and 1 from Portland Running.

    Thanks Everyone!

  • Ordered size 12 from Nike and then got size 11.5 from PRC with the discount code. First time I checked PRC they didn't have my size but when I came back 10 minutes later they did. Thanks for the discount code. I'll resell whichever one doesn't fit.

  • JFYI - I went to Nike.com this morning and by the time I got in there my size (13) was already sold out. I refreshed a bunch of times over the next hour with no luck. I just went in to check "one last time" and a lot of the sizes that were previously showing as out of stock were once again available to buy, including my size (YAY!!!). So if you haven't yet purchased and are interested, check Nike.

  • Most places sold out, but they are back in stock (almost all sizes) on Nike.com!

  • got my 13s at Eastbay.

now at Arizona Ironman I need to keep my pace better than 7:30 to justify their use.

  • sooo.... just got a flurry of emails from Portland running... out of my 5 ordered shoes, they are only able to fulfill one...

  • Hey @scottdinhofer at least you got 1. I just got an email they cancelled and refunded my order of 1pair. Just checked Nike and they still have 9 but not 9.5. Bummed as I was thinking of ordering a second pair from them just in case but trusted the vendor. Bummed.

  • Eastbay still has sizes 10.5 and smaller.

  • If anyone is looking, eastbay AND Nike.com still have some random sizes up, i just snagged a pair of 10s on Eastbay so I can really figure out what right size is for me.

  • I got a pair of 9.5's from Fleet Feet, but may have buyers remorse or they may not fit. Will post here if either is true. ;)

  • Hey @Trish Marshall keep me posted as I may be a buyer, but hope they work out. I also just picked up a 10 from Eastbay (thanks @scott dinhofer ) but I have new 9.5 Zoomfly Flyknit that fit perfect so I am thinking I need a 9.5

  • I got an email from Portland Running and they also cancelled my order. Now I'm glad I bought pairs from multiple places. I think it's kind of crappy that they cancel an order ~12 hours after I received an order confirmation. When I would have had a couple hours after receiving the original Confirmation to still buy them from a different place and now are sold out everywhere...

  • FWIW - just got my notification from Nike.com that mine have shipped already!

  • Check out the note the peeps from Fleet Feet Hans wrote on my receipt! Love it!

  • You got them already?!?!

  • They look like they have a radioactive glow.

But seriously @John Withrow did the work for you at IM Moo? A lot of us have heard they are for very small runners and no offense but you're not. 6.9 ounces is not a lot of shoe. Did your feet feel any worse for wearing them?

  • My 11.0's arriving via UPS ground (I'm cheap) this coming Thursday. Did a training half marathon race yesterday in my 10.5's yesterday. These shoes are really a quantum leap forward. They are truly addicting. My legs/quads felt pampered the whole way, I could just concentrate on (a) taking it "easy" the first 6 miles, then cranking up the effort on the way back. To say nothing of the mismatch compared to training shoes among "watts", HR, and pace. It's lioke buying free fitness *and* speed. I wish I could run in them every day...

Sizing note...the 10.5's with thin Injinji socks worked OK, but I think a full marathon I'd end up with 1-2 black toes. The 11.0's may require thicker socks, but that might be a bonus for an IM? For me, they seem to size like my Hoka Cavus (when is Hoka One One going to drop the two ones?)

  • All the love for these shoes and I can’t seem to win. First Portland Running cancelled my order and now Eastbay sent me an email that they are backordered 2 weeks - just waiting for the email that they cancelled and refunded my order 🤷‍♂️

  • @Robert Sabo No offense taken, I am absolutely on the much higher Kg side of triathletes, even when I'm super skinny... The Vaporflys are absolutely NOT just for small runners. I think they "feel" like they have more cushion than my Hoka Stinsons, and certainly have more spring. They actually feel like what Hokas used to feel like Circa 2013 when they were super squishy (think original Stinsons or my old old Bondi Speed S2), except these also have a stable toe off and are SUPER SUPER light. The whole point is they really do feel like they help you conserve energy. My IM run at Wisconsin seemed very "blah" according to my Race Report... But it was also my 2nd fastest run of 10 IM attempts, and first time I didn't get passed on the run. My quads still nearly blew up, but can't say I'd in any way blame the shoes. And maybe it was lower 2nd half effort (didn't need to go to that deep dark place) since I was so far ahead of my competition, maybe it was my solid fitness, and maybe some of it was the shoes, but this was my first IM race ever that I was the bike and bag fetching sherpa for multiple friends after the race. And this was also my fastest leg recovery (By A LOT) of any of my previous Ironmans. All that said. I will be doing ALL races in some version of these Vaporfly's going forward, simply too much data for it to just be a placebo effect...

  • Dumb question to @John Withrow @Al Truscott or @Jeremy Behler , but are you/did you use speed laces with these shoes? The zoom flys have a loop that my other shoes don't at each eyelet...just wondered if speed laces changed the fit for anyone. Worried a bit that the heel may slip...I did get a blister on one foot when I first got them.

  • I did not use speed laces. I simply used whatever laces came with mine. I took the extra ~10 seconds in T2 to tie them snugly and they never came untied for my 26.2 in Wisconsin.

  • Thanks for all of this! After watching the video @Daniel Ballin posted I ordered a pair of the Women's Zoom Fly Flyknit. My thought process is just to take a (less expensive) a baby step towards a similar shoe by Nike after 10+ years in Asics and go from there. The $1.99 VIP membership at Road Runner sport saves 10% on everything, $16 on these, FWIW...

    EXCITING!

  • I used lock laces with them in Lake Placid with no issue.

  • I use old-school toggles as "speed laces", and have no issues with fit or retention while racing.

  • I just (12:39 pm on 10/10/18) got a pair of size 12 from Fast Break Athletics in Choo, TN thanks to a tip from @Jeff Horn in the Zwift PSA group me. It was the last in that size, but they have other sizes available With shipping and tax, it as $284.05. Yeeeee Ha!! Thanks a million Jeff! Contact info below.

Got mine and I am going to move up to size 11 (I have 10.5 in the first version Vaporfly, and my other running shoes are 10.5 or 11).

Let me know if you need size 10, 10.5, or 11.5 (at cost); otherwise those are going back.

Also, check the footbeds on these; I have heard of issues with the attachment and they are apparently hard to put back. I noticed that one pair I received was not well attached.

  • Hey @Mike Westover if you still have the 10 I would be happy to buy off you. Believe it or not I just received my 3rd apology order that the order I placed can’t be fulfilled. This one from Sole Sports Running in AZ. Let me know. Cheers.

  • @Daniel Ballin sorry, just returned them this afternoon! I do have some 10.5 coming from Fleet Feet that haven’t arrived yet.

  • For those who missed the Vaporflys earlier, nike.com has them back in stock. Sizes have been going in and out but currently men's 4.5 through 10.5 and 12.5 are available.
