dinner was fun... best part of the weekend! Hot is an understatement! Man was that a sufferfest!
Really great to finally put faces to avatars (particularly the feet). I met Tucker race morning, which was cool and he said hello as he dusted me on the bike. Also met a few other EN'ers post race clearing out of transition. Joe, Dan... and someone else. I want to say Casey...
My take aways: (1) I want POWER. It was a bummer that Kate blew by me during the warm up phase of the bike... and, (2) having sun screen on my person during the run is clutch (thanks, Nemo) - not that it helped much, my shoulders are KILLING me... I think I'm going to scare small children away from the pool at the resort this weekend with my ridiculous tan lines.
Didn't see results when I checked last night - have my personal print out... and very anxious to see the official results... What's amazing is that I did 12-13 minutes slower than last year, but 9 of those minutes were in the water...and I felt GREAT in the water. I suppose having zippo current to help us out was a factor. Having only lost 3 or 4 minutes in the other 2 events, with winds the whole way and a heat index of 100+, I guess that means I stayed in my box on the bike (but man did it SUCK having so many people blow by me... especially the first 25')... and seeing folks dropping like flies on the run while I shuffled past them was kinda cool. All in all, I'm very pleased that I was consistent on the bike (slightly faster than my 2 TTs with more wind throughout) and the run (slower than my 2nd TT, and only slightly slower than last year's race, just over a 10mm pace)... because that 10mm pace was apparently speedy out there yesterday. Having a slower day, I just hope my rankings improved. That's the real test.
Dan and I got a room at the fancy hotel for next year. Not sure if we're racing... but if we do, I'll be chilling poolside making smores afterwards! Hope you'll join me (if you go back to the Black Water Reserve for more torture). I'm hoping 3rd time will be the charm!
I think the pics Dan took are too big... but they're on FB - granted they're just of me and/or me and Kate... speaking of FB, look me up (by email or Rebecca Allyn)... and an even longer version of my race report is on there. ha ha ha... I LOVE to tell stories!

Great to meet everyone!!! The pic didn't come out so great (I think I had the camera set on "close ups" for the Moo Jo pic still), but here it is:
And of course, here's the pic of Moo Jo inspecting the pills that Kate brought to dinner for Becky!!!
