Ready yes!. Did the bike test tonight. Ya jumping the gun could not help myself. Hard to tell if I pushed it as hard as possible ( first test). I have a feeling time will tell.
Well I weigh a little more and watts down a tad from end of last OS on inside trainer but I have a starting point from here forward. Let the improvement begin.
Pnorm=257 Pave = 255 VI = 1.01
1st 20'=259 2nd 20'=261 2" rest = 165
One thing for haviing a year of the OS under your belt I paced it right.
Alright folks. I'm not doing OS until Dec/Jan but I feel so jealous of you folks already getting it started that I had to join the group. Good luck with that first week of testing!!!
I'm one of the peeps who could never get the road bike numbers up to my tri bike numbers (I lose power somewhere in the pedal stroke when I can't bank on the more compact position is my guess). Looking forward to correcting that problem. No tri bike till spring!
Nothing like a bike FTP test to get the week going. I was concerned that I would have lost more FTP than I did. 242 at the peak of summer racing, 234 yesterday. Bring on the Vdot test!!!

Interesting. I will do my first test ever on my road bike tonight as well. I have hardly ever ridden with power on the road bike and just assumed that I would be able to put out more power. The outside rides the past few weekends have had lower numbers that I would have thought. Time will tell if I was loafing or if there is something to the different bike thing.
1st interval - 298 watts --> VI = 1 2nd Interval - 294 watts --> VI = 1
42' - 293 watts NP --> VI = 1.01
That seems WAY too high. I'm wondering if the Ergomo is working properly. CompuTrainer watts were significantly lower, with FTP = 260... although that seems low to me. I was expecting somewhere between 270 and 275.
Had to abort. Both computrainers are now boxed and about to be shipped back for calibration. Mine is jumping around from 49 to 349 watts. It's been funky the past few weeks, but today it was just totally stupid. I have never ridden indoors with the Kurt Kenetic and the PT, so I have no frame of reference how to ride or what it feels like. I'll put the test off until the next time, and just use the Kenetic for workouts until the CT is back. (Shucks about the test, I know (sarcasm dripping). )
However, a 5/20 outing about a 6 weeks ago gave me an FTP of 170. All the pre-season interval workouts were coming ~173, so I'll go with 170 as a solid parameter for now.

I was the same way. Road bike was strictly for fun and group stuff. Last year when I slapped it on the trainer with power it was a big wake up call (too much loafing for me).
I am getting there. I have to postpone my first FTP test until later in the week. More on that later. And although I do not suggest using a local 5k for a pace test, I did one. It is hard to pass up a race that you can run to and home from. I would say that it well considering I havee done very little since IMCdA. It was a pretty hilly course and I managed to run a very even paved race. 3rd overall with 6:00 min/mile. I will probably head back to the track later this week for the real test.

READY!
This being my first OS I am sure I am stoopidly over anxious to get it going and I will soon learn ;-)

Wow Trent!!! You paced that perfectly!!! Love your attitude. Up and onward we go!!
FTP = 301
Down from 312 a few months ago, but to be expected after de-training from Louisville.
Ok, recovery time until Wed.......
Good luck to all..
