Reminder--30" Recovery at 60% for VO2max Intervals

Just want to remind everyone that the recovery for the 30" recovery part for the 30/30s (or whatever length variation you may be doing) is at 60% of FT. It's not called out in the plan, and Patrick reminded me of that detail in a post last week. Just want to make sure everyone is aware and is adhering--insert whip smiley here. image It's a detail that makes a difference. Recovery between sets is as easy as you want it to be to fully set to go again.

I'm about to hit the workout right now. image

  • It does make a HUGE difference as I was holding 450 on and 0-110 watts for the 30" off THEN was told to hold 60% during my 30" off and things became more real. Now it's 350 during the ON...not quite 450 watts anymore :-)

  • OK Linda- can you please remind the Jan peeps of this when we reach week 9??? That's a small detail I know I would forget! And the difference is HUGE!
  • Nemo--I'll stick my nosy nose into JOS and do some smack down about it! image

  • kinda strange actually...I never paid much attention to what I was doing during the off periods. Figured that I was doing less than 60. After reading this thread I paid attention this morning and I noticed that I was tending to sit at between 200 and 220 which is a tad more than 60. Pretty similar to how EP feels like walking after doing the TP intervals which is a good thing.
  • thanks for posting this info as i am just starting again after surgery and was wondering about the 30/30
