  • I was up early for the ride and got in the work but it was rough getting into the zones. I added 30 min at Z3. Not bad.
  •  DId today's workout yesterday so I could take today off before my trail run tomorrow.  (xterra trail race series).  As such, I was at the gym in the middle of a spin class before work.  That was interesting!  I think on one hand it helped me push a bit harder but on the other, I likely didn't rest as much as I would have if the class had the same rest intervals.  But it was a fun change!

  • Got the trainer ride in (MS: 2 X 12' (3')@ Z4 + 6'(3') @ Z4) plus about 10' at Z3 for a total of about an hour. Hit all targets and it certainly was harder than I would've pushed for my outdoor ride, so I guess this was better for my fitness after all. My run was suppossed to be 30" @Z2/Z3, but I just couldn't really get it into the Z3 after that hard effort.

So, since Army managed not to win again, I'll count this morning's wko a victory anyway. Heck - just being in the NOV OS makes us all pretty darn tough!
  • After Tuesdays workouts, todays was a relative walk in the park! At least, the FTP sections. I did my first 90' trainer session in quite some time, and being on a trainer for 90' is a skill that is learned, and quickly forgotten. The last 30 minutes was tough, both mentally and physically - but a tad more difficult mentally. My brain kept saying 'aww come on, you've done the main set, and you've been on this thing for an hour, you can slack off the rest'.
  •  Was nice to be able to get outside one more weekend (keep 'em coming Mother Nature)....90 min. with 3x12-15 + 1x8-10 in Z4...but I really kicked it...the entire ride was NP Z4!...gawd I feel too good right now....Luv the OS.

  •  Yesterday's workout was pretty painful. Was on the road this week, missed a bike workout, and lifted instead. My legs have been killing me all week and the quads felt really tired.

Last Saturday's ride  65 degrees, today 30 degrees and snow.  Almost had to channel Andy Hamsten to get through the ride. The snow was actually pretty cool, but the 40 mph headwind was a bitch. Good to get out with one of my cycling teammates and let him suck my wheel during my intervals. Also nice to have a place get out of the wind during the rest intervals.

2mile run intervals this morning. That's going to hurt.

  •  Managed to get the bike in yesterday felt pretty good.  standard wu, 2x10 and 1x5, then 15' at .85, 80 minutes total.  Managed to stay in aero for almost all the work intervals.   Definitely feeling a bit easier to hit the 100% FTP numbers.  Almost time to retest!

  • I got up early Saturday and got the bike workout in. I had to skip the run due to kids swim meets and Christmas shopping. I hate it when that happens but there was no way I was getting up at 5:30 yesterday to fit both workouts in.
