Without reading this entire thread, experiences like this reported confusion and friction with using new-to-the-market powermeters are why I always recommend Powertap and Quarq. Time spent sorting out problems and wondering if your data is good/ useful is time you're not getting a return on the investment you've made in power.
Glad I found this post. I just put the Powertap C1 on my son's and my bike and trying to figure out how to decipher all the info as well as how to set up the data screens. I have it on 1s sampling and like everyone else my head hurt from the numbers jumping. I will be changing my screen set up after reading and doing a baseline test now that I have had several rides on the powermeter and have it broke in somewhat. Great post and thank you for the info.
