Power/Pace tool/toy survery Whatchagot?

Wondering what kinda mix we have in the haus these days?

I have a Power tap wireless in an 808 clincher that I use for everything and a Garmin 310 I use for running.  Still use the yellow computer as I jsut like it better than the 310 for riding.  310 is the best garmin yet for running.

What does everyone else have for toys?

Garmin 310xt that I use for running. Still waiting for compatability issues to get resolved before I use it with the PT

Also have a Polar 625SX that I haven't used in ages but can't bareto part with for some reason. I really should sell it at this point- but it's like my backup plan if the Garmin dies.

  •  Insert Sad face...

    Only Forerunner 305.

Santa is looking around for a PM.  I have already put my stocking by the fireplace and now the kids keep asking when they can put there's up.  I'm a horrible dad.

  • I don't discuss which PM I have in case the aforementioned PM would have a temper tantrum and stop working.

If you all can't figure out which PM I have by just saying that, then all I have to say is "we don't talk about Fight Club".
  • PowerTap Elite+ Wireless with ANT+ in Mavic Open Pro

    Garmin 305 biking & running

  • powertap wireless into a deep v rim. i'm waiting for my $40 REI gift card to come in the mail so I can pull the plug on the garmin 310. With the gift card, the 10% REI member rewards and the additional 5% for the REI credit card, i think i can get it down into the $260 ish range. TIMEX sucks and doesn't work with WKO+!!!!!

Tom, I just went with the footpod a few weeks ago, and am really loving it.  Took some calibrating (I must have a funny stride), but it's remarkably accurate, and (as Patrick pointed out) you can get cadence using it on your outside runs.  The new one is super small, and even fits inside of a Nike+ shoe, if that happens to be what you use.  If not, it clips on the laces really easily.

  • For the bike I have Quarq Cinqo/ Garmin 705 and really like it. For swimming I use an old Polar 625x which works in the water. For the rest, I use a Polar 800CX. I still think Polar is superior to Garmin or Suunto, especially the software. The foot pod makes pace much more accurate and I can program the workouts in for intervals, pace, etc. I also ride my bike about 90+ percent of the time indoors on my CT. Dave

If (when) it goes, I'll probably go with Quarq, so I can continue to use my existing wheelsets.

Also, I have a Garmin 305 for running.  And my footpod should get here tomorrow or Friday.

  • Self diagnosed gadget/data geek:

-PT Elite in Easton EA90 SLX

-310XT for bike/run (have realized after doing considerable research that ~90% of the reported problems appear to be WKO+ or LYC idiosyncracies, not so much Garmin)

    -Garmin Footpod

    -Garmin Speed/Cadence Sensor

    -Kurt Kinetic Road Machine

-Netbook right beside the trainer image

-NordicTrack Treadmill from Costco (surprisingly good for the price)

Starting to get a little embarassed about how tony my pain cave is.
  • PowerTap Pro+ wireless

    Garmin 305 for running

    Kurt Kenetic.

No upgrades on the horizon as I just got the PM and want (maybe need) a new bike in spring.  I really don't want to ride the IMC course on an 8 speed.  Having said that I completed Lake Placid on this bike so it could be done, but not optimal gearing.

  • PowerTap SL wired on Bontrager Race Lite Aero regular yellow computer

PowerTap SL+ on DT Swiss r1.2 regular yellow computer

    Cycleops Fluid2

    Garmin 305

  • PowerTap Pro+ Wireless built into a Velocity Deep V w/ wheel cover.

Garmin Edge 705 (didn't get the yellow PT computer since already had the 705)
Backups: Garmin 310xt, Garmin Edge 305, Garmin Forerunner 305... did I mention I like Garmin?)
Got rid of the Garmin 301
    I'm a "gadget geek".
  • wireless power tap in a mavic training wheel (I forget the specs...) + wireless in a 404. both use same lil yellow ptap computer.

    garmen 305

    kinetic trainer

  • Quarq, cinqo, SRAM Force w/ Garmin Edge 705 -- the same Quark Chris G installed a couple weeks back. Love it. And, as Chris knows, its easy to install and swap out. For the run i use a Garmin 305 that's moody in cloudy situations, extreme cold, extreme heat and along New York City streets.
