  • During that 3 day block, I'd like you to run 30-40' before each of your rides and ride a bit longer if you can. I'm hesitant to tell you to "ride longer" if that just means being on a trainer longer. Would be more valuable to have you run more frequently.
  • Going to try to ride outside this weekend. Local group has a ride that is manageable for me. Holiday block was good.

  • I've added the run before the bike workouts, and I think it is helping. This week I take my bike to TriBike transport on Weds so I won't have it for a long ride this weekend. I also need to take it to my shop to have my new wheels put on. I'm hoping I can get it all done, but, point is I won't have it until the race. I was unable to ride outside this weekend due to safety concerns and thunderstorms. I have to do better for Ironman FL which is in 15 weeks. Anyway, I guess I'll just swim and run more until the race. Running is where I need work anyway. Does it make sense to just do some 2-a-days running with extra swimming?  14 days until 70.3 Steelhead. Thanks!

JUST GOT AN UPDATE FROM TRIBIKETRANSPORT... I don't have to drop my bike off until Saturday!! YAY!

No, I'd rather you add a "little" distance to the existing runs vs running 2x per day. That's kind of an advanced strategy, you need to be very durable and have experience with knowing when enough is too much, if that makes sense. So recommend you stick with the plan and a few minutes here and there to the existing runs.

    Good luck!

  • Tonight is going to be my last run of any consequence before the race. I'm going to run a couple of hours to see how the hamstring and knee hold up. Then ice. The half marathon takes me 3 hours normally so I could be longer than that on race day. Hate this injury nonsense. I was getting faster. Now I'm just cranky. image
