Let's get this party started!

I'm jamming out some work in Starbucks before riding the course backwards to cheer the Team on the Veyo Wall

Pictures here, will be uploading throughout the day.

Follow TeamEN on Twitter, check the EN homepage, or search for tweets with #workworks, as I tweet updates from the course throughout the day.

  • No better way to make the last have hour of your morning ride a hammer fest than the tweets of ENers coming out of the water at IMSG ringing on the phone in your back pocket!! Anyone know how cold the water was this morning?? Doesn't seem to have slowed our crew down much!
  • FYI- Paula Ericson (once a EN Peep, always an EN Peep- and really, the original L'il Peep) is also at IMSG. She's not on our tracker, but I'm happy to say she's out of the water as well!
  • Yep, I sold my tandem to Paula and met her and Keith on Wednesday to do the handoff, have them sign the Release of Liability so I'm not an accessory to murder, divorce, etc . She looked ready to race!

  • How cold was the water at the star Rich? Did it warm up at all?

Dunno, but I saw tweets from Jimmy Riccitello saying about 60-61 degrees. The swim is 20mi outside town, shuttles, no idea about parking, etc so I didn't go, figured it would be a cluster. Thinking now I'm going to drive out to Veyo and use the bike for transpo so I can have all my various chargers and gizmo's with me...and take lots of pictures in lots of places out there.

  • The pics should be awesome!
  • watching the live feed of the bike I'm seeing lots of jackets, vests, and arm warmers. Must be a little chilly on the bike right now too.
  • In from biking and looking at all these beautiful swim times and bike splits. Go EN!  Go Chicas!

  •  Hey folks, this just in from Lynne via FB.  Send her all the warm and encouraging thoughts you've got!

"This is actually Lynne. My Ironman day is done. Got 2/3 through swim still nauseous dizzy and cold. It had become a buoy to buoy survival swim. Was way dizzy getting out and it took 10 minutes in the hot tent to start shivering. Five weeks to Hawaii 70.3 and maybe I'll community fund a race later in the year with a wArmer swum"

  • Just saw Lynne's post on FB: looks like she was dizzy and hypothermic on the swim. Ugh.
A big warm hug out to her!
  • I was just going to ask if anyone knew about Lynne and several others with no recorded swim times. Poor Lynne - it sounds like a nightmare swim! I hope she warms up soon.
  • Ok, leaving Starbucks. Gotta hit a bike shop on my way to Veyo then you'll start to see updates from me. My cell is 626-203-3278.

  • Getting some pie in Veyo????
  • Watching the live feed...Lisa Bentley is just lovely to watch. I met her at Longhorn 70.3 two years ago---such a friendly and warm person.
I could eat an entire Veyo pie right now!
  • Still no splits for Joe Anderson, Steve Schoen, and Allen Couch. I'm afraid we may have a few more folks who had trouble with the cold water. I hope they are all ok!
  • Just home from AOB. Ready to shower and get caught up here!

  • Whoa on the swim! Off for groceries, then back for more IM news!

I heart Paula. One of the wicked coolest members ever. Go Paula Go!

  • I'm at 18, even found a chair :-). All roads to veyo locked down so tried to take dirt roads, no joy. Wind has really picked up out here, no clouds but perfect temps. Haven't seen anyone except pros n top ag's
  • Tom Glenn is off the bike!
  • Chavez's are on the run as well...

    Carrie is 11th in AG
    Steve is 14th in AG

Let's watch them rack up some roadkill!
  • Lots of peeps on the run now, including Olivia! Go, team, go!
  • The NorCal peeps are crushing it! (just a little regional pride image)

    m
  • Steve moved from 14th to 11th in the first 6.9 miles of the run....it's not even mile 18 and he is already racking up the roadkill!

Just talked with Rich and he said Steve, Carrie and Tom were all looking strong when he saw them going out on the run...and other people were already starting to walk the hills.

Sounds like a perfect course and day for some EN race execution!
  • Man, that bike course must be brutal, looking at the times. So good to see so many EN peeps already off the bike and ready to run. Can't wait to hear Team Chavez' road kill count!

  • Is it just me, or has the tracker (on the ironmanlive site as well as ours) stopped updating?!? They are showing the race clock at 10 hours, but other than Steve Chavez there ar no run splits?

    Mike
  • Don't see any times past the bike for most people in all AGs (I'm following my own AG as well as EN). Even the finishers after about # 12 only have one or two run splits, plus their finishing time. SOmething must have happened to the timing between 2:30 and 3:30 PM.
  • CRAP!!! I just got back from running errands and wanted to check in to see where everyone was. That explains why I didn't get any tweets while I was out!!! How frustrating!
  • I just saw a "Scott Davis" cross the finish line (around the 10:50 mark). But I don't know if that's OUR Scott Davis. He was wearing a KSwiss kit.
  • Steve Chavez is in!!!! Saw him cross the finish line on the live feed. He jumped across the finish line. Obviously those hills weren't all that bad for him!!! Go Steve!
