  • thanks Brenda.

I will  be starting the November OS in November.           November 2.

the new plans are what is in place currently ??

  • After a month of being a little bit lazy, I am so pumped to start NOS!

Hi! I'm Lindsay. Currently in Chicago, but will be relocating to San Francisco around the 1st of the year. My A race is Wisconsin after a DNF this year. My OS goals are to zero in on body comp, get comfortable using training data to help me make decisions and understand my training (last year I only used HR, and not all that well), and set myself up for a successful racing season full of PRs!

  • Helllo team!!

I am so PSYCHED to be starting OS next week! Last year I had to hack OS bc I needed a run focus for an early marathon+ event...BUT this year I am ALL IN!!! I am ready to work and give EN OS my all! My 2016 A race is IMLP.  My OS goals is to keep up with run frequency/get some of my speed back (this summer I was recovering from a stress fracture), continue to work on bike (that was a focus this summer and I as able to get some gains), and FINALLY really hammer down on CORE work and my functional strength exercises. If there is one thing I know I need- its to keep up on my glute/hammy/core work.  So there we have it!! Ready to WORK and really looking forward to being MUCH more active in the forums.

    Who else is in??

No, PnI have not yet made the new plans available in the drop down. They will be made available in time for people to begin training with them on 10/26

  • Hi NOV OS peeps,

I'm excited to be back in the EN Haus after taking 10 months out of the Haus and a complete year off of triathlon after IMMT last year. I'm excited to catch up with many of you whom I've trained/raced with in the past.  And I look forward to meeting new members.

I'm more out of shape than usual but I will try my best to follow all the plans and track faithfully.  I mostly spent the summer cycling.  My big race for next year is IMLP.   I would like to do a 70.3 beforehand but I also want to do the IMLP training camp so we'll see if Quassy or Syracuse 70.3 can fit in.    I'm a little technology challenged but will aim to triumph over any challenges.  I recently downloaded Loseit! not knowing that EN switched to Myfitnesspal.  So, I will make the migration.   I also plan to join TrainingPeaks.  Fingers crossed I can upload everything.

Meanwhile I will enjoy hearing about your training, cheering you on, and hopefully making worthwhile contributions to the group.  Until next week!

  • Rich,

Are they going to be uploaded to Trainer Road again?

  • Hi all -- very pumped to be heading into another NOV OS. This will be my 4th(!) OS with EN and I'm going to TARGET 100% participation in the bike, run, and core workouts while maintaining a weekly ~90 min long run and ~2 hour bike ride. I'm a longtime Lose It! user, so I'm putting my faith in Coach R and transitioning to MFP. Also looking forward to using Training Peaks analytics for the first time. My big race in '16 is IMLP which will be IM #6 and my second go at the race. Can't wait to get back to daily posting on the forums and see how the data tracking adds to the EN experience!
  • Confused.    NOS starts 10/26 (Rich comment below) or 11/2 (Robin's comment below)?

  • Hi Everyone ! This is Gonzalo, now living in Mexico (Queretaro) after relocating from Ohio in August. Great weather and places to bike here as well as a big triathlon community...besides the fact that we are at 6000 ft

Big race next year is IMLP (first time was this year) and will be my sixth one

This will be my 4th OS with the team and am ready to go ! Can´t wait to be back to posting every day and learning from all of you!

  • Hey John, I believe the official start for everyone who can is Oct 26.
  • Hello all. Very excited to start my third OS. Last season was pretty much a bust due to recovering from a bike crash last October, and misc running injuries that plagued me during the summer.

Body comp and run durability will be a tough part of this OS, as it was last year. My plan is to lose 10 pounds and race at 160. I managed to lose 10 pounds during the last OS, but it was tough to do while also fueling wko's properly. I have had difficulty in ramping up my run volume out of the OS. The new plans may help with this. In order to maintain my speed AND stave off over use injuries, I will need to ensure that I increase my volume through these next 14 weeks

My plan is to complete my first IM, either CDA or Canada. The deciding factor will be which one is more family friendly for a 5 & 7 year old.

2016 OS plans are out. Time to start plugging them into TP.

Hey John, I believe the official start for everyone who can is Oct 26.

    SHIT!  Oh, I mean WOOHOO!

  • Hello.
    Welcome back Leslie.
I will be at IMLP again (#8 at LP and 12th IM). Should be a great crew. I'm still looking for a condo.
Looking forward to a healthy and successful OS. Nervous about trying Trainer Road. I'm waiting for a wire to try it out. I hate it when your wko or worse an FTP test doesn't get saved.
Eager and nervous about starting the WORK/FUN
  • Looking forward to the NovOS - I've been in the January OS for the past 2 years so I'm pretty excited about getting started much earlier. I've been kinda following the OS schedule the past 4-5 weeks as I've recovered from a pretty nasty bike crash. I'll be modifying my WO slightly as I just don't have the time or quite frankly the mindset to do 2 WO per day. I'll instead run and bike 3x a week with one rest day.

@Robert -Trainer Road is great, you will love it

2016 A race is IMWI - I need revenge from my 2014 performance, or lack of...

  • Hi Everyone!

    Nice to see you Leslie!

2015 was a dud tri year for me after my '14 IMMT finish. I had the opportunity to do a 3 week education fellowship in India which was awesome and the work associated with that really took a lot of my time this year. Injuries (right achilles tendonitis, left knee patellar issue, left serious ankle sprain) put me on the bench for all of my planned races and I've been living vicariously through my fellow EN peeps. PT is helping and I'm very close to being cleared to start baby steps towards running. Of course I've gained weight as a result of my inactivity so body comp changes are a big priority this season. I feel like I am starting over as a complete beginner.

I'm in for IMMT 70.3, volunteering at IMLP, and am considering Timberman70.3 or Rev 3 OOB 70.3. I'm also considering a HM or marathon in the fall.

2015 was the first year since '05 I did no races at all so I'm really looking forward to getting back in the groove!
  • Hi everyone. Looking forward to getting back at it during the OS. Pretty much took 2015 off, so I am expecting a world of hurt during that first bike test. My "A" race is IMLP, so at least I have sometime to get back in shape.

BTW, I received an e-mail from Trainer Road that I have earned 3 free months to give to friends. I don't know if there is a limitation on the number of friends, but if you are interested send me a message with your e-mail and I will try to hook you up.

    Brad
  • After being injured with hamstring tendonitis since November things began to loosen up in August so I could live w/o pain. I had already planned a year off IM, but with the hamstring I did next to nothing since the winter. So I'm ready to get back in the game.  Ran a 9 person 200 mile trail relay on October 9/10 and did well without issues.

    So I'm in for NOS.

Are the workouts available to load onto TrainingPeaks? I've used it for years and would copy a few weeks ahead by cut/paste. If they are available to load up that would make life easier.

please send one to me !! =)

  • Ready to get started!

I'm in Mobile, AL (don't hate me because I have nice weather throughout the winter -- I pay for it in the summer!).  This is the first OS I've gone into completely healthy, so I'm pretty excited.  My OS goal is to be as consistent as possible (i.e., no slacking just cuz)!  Losing weight would be good, too.  But consistency first.

I'm doing IMTX and IMCHOO next year.  But first, I'm doing a Halloween 5K to get my paces set in a race setting!  Yay!

  • Hello Cool Kids:

Based on all the new(er) folks I am seeing, figured I might as well intro my humble self.

    • John Stark
    • Danville, CA (45 minutes east of San Francisco)
    • Bend, Oregon - Second home where we hope to move next June.
    • Freelance Web Developer //  Bike Shop Mechanic/Sales (for fun and cheap parts)
    • Married 19 years with 1 son who is a teenager as of today (GULP!).
    • Original EN NorCal Sleeper Cell Ninja (Circa 2008)
    • First EN Race Director (Though Brenda has taken way beyond anything I could - She is amazing)
    • Last race:  IMAZ 2011
    • Next race: Undecided.  Couple of local MTB DU's in January.  Beyond that, nothing planned...yet.
    • Fell off tri-geek wagon in 2012 and have had several false starts since then . . .until now.
    Goals for OS:
    1. Body Comp - Need to lose 25 lbs.
    2. Run.  Just Run.
    3. Focus on building bike fitness again so I can ride with the big kids in the local group rides.

That's me.  Looking forward to suffering with you all over the next couple of months.

    ~ Stark

  • All the cool kids in the NOS pool again this year!

I'll update my signature block at some point, but here are the vitals.

Bill Manard, St. Peters, MO (outside St. Louis)
Family physician, medical school faculty, informatics administrator, etc.
    EN since 2013, third OS
    Last race: IM 70.3 Coz
2016 A races: IM 70.3 Honu (Hawai'i), IM WI (first full)

Initial goals - FTP 225 (may adjust based on testing) or 3.0-3.1 W/kg, V-dot 37 (ditto) with more durability/speed maintenance, weight down 7-10 lbs

Look forward to the annual mojo!
  • Brandon DuMontier - age 39
    New Orleans, LA
    First OS with Endurance Nation
Completed First Full IM at Choo in 2015.

Looking to get faster for some early season HIM (IMNOLA 70.3) and half marathons. Also would really like to get to finish a Saturday ride with our local fast cycling group instead of getting dropped. Breaking 20m in a 5k would be a very cool bonus, as well. 21:11 is my current PR.

Ended IM training at 209w FTP and 41 Vdot. Can't wait to see what happens this OS!
  • Really happy to see you here Kristen.  I wish you were doing IMLP with me but I will be happy to see you there volunteering.

I too feel like a complete beginner having taken the past year off.  You and I always seem to be on the same path/place.  Glad to have you around.

    See you in the forums.

  • Hey everyone!

Might as well get on the intro bandwagon here.

    1. 47 years old. I live in Peoria IL. I grew up in eastern Wisconsin, so a displaced Packer fan in Bear-land.
    2. I am a Senior Meteorologist with the National Weather Service, for 21 years. (Provided perfect weather for IM MOO 2015, since I was in it. )
    3. I have been with EN since 2010 right after I did IM Wisconsin. I took a break from IM for 4 years as me and my wife had 3 boys. (2, 3 and 5 as of now). Happily married for 9 years.
    4. This will be my 6th OS, but some were sleep deprived (ie less effective) OS's during the baby years. This year I am heading into the OS in the best shape I have been in, in a long time, after a year of more intense IM training on the EN plan.
    5. Last IM - IM MOO 2015. 44 min PR - 12:07
    6. Next big race. No IM next year, or for several years to build up the SAUs and bank account.  Possibly HIM nearby, Route 66 HIM in Springfield IL.  Dopey challenge Jan 2018
    7. Goals for the OS -  a. Keep improving body comp. (already down 25 pounds over the last year, but  maybe 10 more?)   b. Get bike power back up to 2011 OS numbers (330-335 NP)  Currently around 300 NP, or so, I will find out that number next week Monday. c. Keep away from the running injury bug with properly timed rest and visits to my ART chiro. 4. Keep going through the OS on the core workouts. Those are so easy to let slide after the first few weeks. They really do help with the swim. After a month of those last year, i jumped in the pool and trimmed 5 secs off my 100 time for an entire workout, even the last few 100s.
    8. Cant wait to hit the pain cave with you all!

  • Hi everyone,
Last year I achieved my dream of completing an Ironman (Lake Placid).
The last 3 months have been filled with tennis, golf and not much else.
I am psyched and ready to get back to work!
I am a software developer originally from New Orleans, living in Atlanta.
I gained about 5 pounds since the Ironman and my goal is to race IM Chattanooga at 155.
That means I need to lose 20 pounds by September...totally doable.
I've started running this week as prep for next week's start of the OS.
    It hurts...
  • Hey folks. Bill McKinney here. I'm pretty much with JStark:
    - long time ENer...missed the very first OS in 2007, but I've done the rest
    - haven't done an IM since IMLP 2011...didn't do any tri's last year
    - my near term A race is the American Birkebeiner Nordic ski race in February...it's a 51K race with 8K of my closest friends. For those of you from warmer climes, Nordic is the skiing where you ski UP the hill and down the hill...none of those silly lifts. Also known as cross country. I'll be doing back to back 42K races over Super Bowl weekend too
    - I'm usually a JanOS guy, but my fitness is a little behind plan, so jumping into November this year.

Looking forward to getting things going with all of you. Thinking maybe Stark and I need a side bet on weight loss...I'd love to race the Birkie at 160, but that would be a loss of ~20 lbs in 20 weeks. What say you John?
  • Hello all, just saw my season plan and I am in for the OS starting a week late on Nov 2.

I have not had one workout since IMlou two weeks ago. Had a great race, met my goals. Haven't looked at a scale and don't want to right now. Scared of what I will see there.

I'm fifty years old and have been in EN for one year. Married for 25 years, two children, one a senior at UW Madison, the other a senior in HS.

I also work in healthcare as clinical manager of spiritual care, and clinical pastoral education.

Looking forward to getting started soon. Two limiters are strength and body comp.
  • Hi everyone:

This is my 2nd year with EN. Did the January OS last year half-a$$ed after finishing IM70.3 Austin as my first half. I did IM 70.3 Hawaii this year which was a fantastic experience. I am looking forward to training with this group for the next three months. I am super focused on 1) increasing 3 hour bike power and 2) improving run durability ... so, I can't think of a better place for me to be than the NovOS.
  • And so it begins....Bike test today. Early because it fits my wacky schedule and I just could not wait.  Excellent start. Boston and Arizona here I come.

  • I will be beginning the Outseason on Monday as well for my first full Ironman in May for IM Texas. I have a lot of work to do to get there. I just finished a 6 week run focus and previously a 6 week bike focus to work on the things that need attention before I begin this journey. I'm really looking forward to crossing that finish line and hearing those words....YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!
