Requested to join the EN MFP group. I used MFP last out season and it helped me with body comp. I also use the withings scale every week. What I learned with calorie counting on MFP made it easier to monitor body comp during the tri season.
I'm rarely tech-challenged, but I can't, for my life, find the group. Looked in Community>Groups (both on site and in app) and keep getting "no results"

So, Just signed up for Training Peaks, It wants me to put in the e-mail of my coach. Which should I put and do we have an EN group set up in there yet?
@ Dino, so are you just hanging out on the site and watching for people posting their beverage intake and then suggesting that they could have had a coconut water instead? :-) If not, why not?
Anyone have a quick explanation of TP vs WKO4 for Dummies?
Training Peaks (TP) is a web based tool. It lives in the cloud and is really simple to use. It is mobile (your phone) and works automatically pulling from Garmin. It's perfect for 95% of analytics. WKO4 is from the same company, but is a software program that lives on your laptop. You can manually import to it from your Garmin device, or you can sync with a free TP account that pulls from Garmin. You gotta be on-line for this. It offers some bells and whistles missing from the cloud based app, but it's pretty close for basic use. I really don't use it although I have it, natch.
I would say start with Training Peaks and then, if you feel you are being limited, invest in WKO4. For the purposes of what we are doing here, TP is an elegant solution.

Great explanation, Dino. And just to add....WKO4 has a pretty steep learning curve vs. WKO3. I was shocked. I think TP online is fine for those of us who really don't need to do a deep dive into the analytics and just need the basics EN uses/needs day-to-day. At least for me.
Apparently I had a dormant MFP account! Just requested permission to join the EN group (csbranch). I couldn't find the group when searching, but it was still under new groups.
On a related note, I'm a bit surprised at the low amount of suggested calories. To lose .5 lbs on LoseIt, I think I was given ~1600 calories. 1380 on MFP. I know these are just estimates, and YMMV, but that's a pretty big discrepancy! I probably need to tweak some settings ... I was losing ~.5-1 lb/wk at 1600, so we'll see!
Agreed on the Withings scale. I tried out numerous digital scales and none of them were accurate: step on get one reading, repeat and get another +- a pound or so. The Withings is dead on accurate every time. Bonus that it sync's to all of my accounts.

Thanks for setting up the group!
Yes, I've noticed that also as I've begun to move from LoseIt! to MFP. I will likely play with the activity level settings to get me to the daily budget numbers that I know work for me and won't make Riley look like a pork chop by mid week...
Brandon is your user name brandondu? I see you as a member. Doesn't appear to be an easy way to change to our real names, agreed. I know I'm able to navigate to the "members" area to view the names of everyone who is in. Dino can you see that too? How about folks who aren't admins? #goteam!
Looks like I am in the group now. No notifications or anything. I can see all of the members too once I get in there. Not very user friendly so far, I have to say.

Yes. I can everyone. It's not fun on a phone. It's much better on a laptop,
I propose we keep our dialogue in the EN forums. Cleaner, easier and keeps us together. Kumbahah and all. Input, other ideas?
Also, was SO excited that "The Withings is coming, the Withings is coming!" BUT upon arrival I promptly gained 1LB and about 50% BF compared to our old scale. Sad trombone. Guess that means just one more pound to lose!
Jenn...I agree with keeping the conversations in the EN forum. I don't see any notifications of any kind on the MFP app with regard to letting me know when someone starts a new thread of responds to another.

I've heard that there is a Training Peaks discount? Any idea where the code might be living?
Thank you, Jacklyn

Might be the spelling? Case sensitive?
Hey Matt,
Geeze, PITA to find it on the iPhone app!
On the web: Community > Groups > Search Groups
On the iPhone app: More > Community > Top left menu item (looks like a callout box) > groups > All New Groups (no idea how long we will be "new"....)
Also, maybe this link will work? http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/109509-endurance-nation
Also, totally unrelated (!!!) anyone want to be a group leader with me? In case I drop off the face of the earth?
I am happy to help. I feel like I am on the site/app all day any way.

Cool Dino you just got promoted. Sorry, no raise. There doesn't seem to be an alert when someone asks to join I've just been checking a couple times a day. Hit me if/when you're able to accept someone so I know you're up and running? Cheers w/o beers! <--- Woe. <img alt="" src="http://members.endurancenation.us/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue2.gif" />
Bummer about the raise tho....
