Hi Coach, I finished IMFL and was very pleased. I am going to write a race report for it. I am in the recovery zone this week (added the 4 week to my race plan), but I have a marathon the 7th of January. Would you remind me how I can schedule a call with you to figure out what to do next with the marathon? Thanks ! Virginia
Congratulations! I can’t wait to read the race report. You can schedule a call with me using the link in the navigation. It’s under my plan, then you will find the schedule call.
Hi Coach P! Long time, no thread writing. I have been busy. I started a new job right after IM FL and ran the Disney marathon at the beginning of January, took two recovery weeks and then started IMFL 70.3 training. Things are going well. I just had a question about long bikes. There are going to be weeks that I can't do the bikes as planned. Can I do a split long bike like a split long run? Half in the am before work and the other half when I get home? What do you think? Thanks!!
@Virginia Edmonds - congratulations on the new job, and I’m excited to hear about your consistency. I hope those recovery weeks for beneficial and they don’t have any aches or pains right now aside from the normal!
I split bike is totally fine, but I also need you to kind of split the intensity is. One of those two rides has to be more of the work or ABP, the other ride could be steady.
By putting the intensity and only one of those two rides, we’re still guaranteeing 24 hours of “recovery” either before or after that session. Let me know what you choose!
Thanks Coach. I will probably do the ABP ride in the am and the steady in the evening. I am feeling good too. Nothing out of the ordinary for soreness after a session. Keeping up on my yoga, rolling and stretching to help with that.
