  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!

@Ed E and @Mike R- why the heck are you telling your spouses what the coaches say??  Ignorance is bliss in that department!

  • @leslie... I blame it on coach P because I need a fall guy!
  • Funny story on my Saturday ride.

I took Olivia to her team ride (which is on Computrainers and an hour's drive away) and figured I would workout while there. If anyone has ever done "club computrainers", you know that they start out uncalibrated, and then you calibrate them after riding a while (15 min in our case). So for the first 10 min, I'm pounding my ass off during the so-called warmup thinking I was going crazy. I knew my legs were tired, but there was no way in hell that felt like anywhere near the right amount of watts that either my Garmin was showing (reading PT data) or the computrainer graph was showing. Why did 150-160 W seem damn near impossible to get past?)

Turned out that my Garmin was coupled to one of the girls' wheels (my fault!), so it was reading wrong...and the computrainer was GROSSLY miscalibrated. So I'm claiming it was a 300 W warmup...... :-)

They were trying to get going quick and did the calibrations too quick, so mine was about 10% off...the hard way...as the computrainer was telling me I'm going 200 W when my PT is telling me I'm going 220. And the workout was "hill climbing"...essentially the same as our 4 x 4 workouts, only the "hills" were progressive from 95% to 110% and 8 minutes each...so now I'm doing 105-115% or so, and just dying..... For the last one, I figured out how to knock my FTP setting down a touch to make it work out right... but oh my goodness, I got my butt kicked... When I did my brick run a little later that day, it was NOT at HMP..... oh well!
  • @William - now that's funny LMAO
