  • Thank you so much for the update. I think you are onto something with the elliptical warm-up and then the run on the treadmill right after. As you noted it’s all about frequency so that your body can tolerate the work you’re doing. It’s when things suddenly jump up to a larger number that we get into trouble. I would also encourage you to take a look at your bike cadence as well located is working sometimes aggravate the Achilles as you need to push down with your toes during the pedal stroke versus a higher cadence approach that reduces the load of each individual revolution. Curious to see if keeping a slightly higher cadence Could alleviate some of the pressure on your Achilles? Let me know!

Of Coarse I will keep you in the loop. I just didn't have a loop to loop with. 😂

Yep. I am ALL that and a bag of oreos too.

During spin class keeping cadence greater than 80. TR is a little harder because of the power and gearing ratio's. I found the bike focused wk 3. Ended up increasing it to 115% to get the WO intensity I wanted. Kept the cadence to 80+. I'm not willing to jump into an actual training plan yet. Figure I will give it a month or so. If things continue to improve than i'll bite.

Achilles is hanging in there. Better in the morning now. I'm not doing any of the conventional stuff. The bump on my achilles is actually down. The pinch tenderness is better too. I have no discomfort going up and down the stairs anymore. SO maybe there's hope of not needing injections/surgery. Haven't heard about the MRI yet.

Other than that. Life is pretty wondeful. Myah loved hanging with your girls! What a neat team of ladies you have. Processed 50# of apples yesterday into applesauce. My house smelled SOOOO good. Food drier is roaring away with tomatoes, corn, apple slices and herbs. I love FALL food.

    Talk later.

  • now youre just making me hungry!!

    🤐

  • Loop da Loop time.

    Howdy beast!

What a great show on the rock. Loved watching Tom Box cross the line. He has wanted that for so long and Pat Ward. We should start calling him MR Zip tie. Geez what a day.

Met with a diffent orthopedist for my achilles last Wednesday. The prior one was too busy to place the MRI order x2 months. It was amazing. Dr Sexton got the PA through my insurance in 3 days. WOW. I get my MRI on Saturday. I follow up next Wednesday. The cool part, there's actually several, is the Dr Sexton for 5 years was the covering ortho for Kona. He has some great stories. He is also partnered up with my sports medicine dude too.

I am on week 7 of the Achilles rehab. I am sick! Feeling very lazy. Achilles is fired up a bit too. Consistency is my biggest challenge. Run durability is going well.

    Tues-Run/core/power lifting

    Wed- Run AM/SPin class PM

    THur-Run/Swim (been pretty shelled here)

    Fri-Run long/CORE/powerlifting

    Sat-Bike/fun time.

Staying on the TM and on the trainer. Dr Sexton says I will be on down time for about 2 weeks post PRP injection. No boot but off work. Bummer. He says I will have to restart PT as well.

My big plan id to get this taken care of and Sart the JOS on time with some durability. 2019 is going to be a quiet year for events. I just want to concentrate and building a better platform.

    Have a great week.

  • This type of work is the hardest. But having an excellent team makes a huge difference. I’m excited to hear that you have some great support system in place, the fact that they have good stories is even better!

I know several people have done the PRP injection, but I have not. It might be worthwhile researching the entry form to find some other people to talk to you about how they manage. And what was/wasn’t successful.

Remember, I’ll take any activity at this point even if it’s water running. Anything to keep you lose and on schedule. I know the physical therapy makes it tough but you can do it! 👍

    Hey Coach,

I have my PRP Nov. 7th. I have been told I will be off for a minimum of 3 weeks and have to go to actual PT. My MRI showed no tendon damage. Just inflamation of the bursa. I am hoping to re emerge by JOS. I am going to go into mainatenance mode. I have never done this before. Have a great Holiday!

    Adore you.
