Kona Bound 2018

Lots to go over as we prepare to head to the big island, but first I need a couple things. 

1. ROLL CALL! Who is going? Sherpaing? Racing? 
2. Is anyone lacking any Kona specific swag? Bike, Wheels, PM, SwimSkin, Helmet, Glasses ETC? Sometimes I get lucky and can get us discounted or free swag from sponsors who want to win the Kona counts

I'll be there all week. The only swimming I'll be doing is to a coffee boat.  The only running I'll be doing is behind Reilly and his scooter on Thursday morning.  And the only racing I'll be doing is an all-out sprint away from the race weight I will have achieved two weeks earlier in Chattanooga.

I'm staying right at Mile 1/9 of the run again. If anyone needs a ride to/from the airport or Hawi, help building your bike, etc., please let me know, and I'll connect you with Mariah.

I'm racing.  I'm trying to figure out my front wheel  size that I should have with the winds.  I have a flo 90 rear and a 60 front however I was thinking of going smaller in the front.  30 or 45???

Any swag would be super appreciated but a front wheel is the main thing I will need for the race.

@Tom Box I was planning to use the same Flo wheel combo (60/90). I weight 165 and think I'd be ok, but interested in hearing from the Kona veterans.

I was concerned about going with 60/90, but I went with it. And had no issues at all. Well, I had lots of issues, but none wheel depth-related.

@Tom Box I wouldn't sweat the deeper wheels.  I raced on Enve 7.8s in 2016 and it was fine.  A little gusting around but that would have been the case even with shallow rims. 

@Mariah Bridges I could use some new shades if that's in the swag options

@JeremyBehler - if it helps, I'm thinking of racing in the Women's 70-75 AG this time around.  I'm not saying it's a sure thing, but records could fall.

Donnacha, if MB can’t pull off her standard Kona magic in the swimskin department and this will likely be a one-time-use 200E+ purchase for you, I’d be happy to loan you mine. I’m 5’10 on a good day, 145lb on race day, 155 two weeks post-race. Seriously . . . no big deal. I certainly won’t be using it. You can use the $ on post-race Guinness.
