Brand New 2011 EN Logo: Killer. Hot. Coming to Kit Near You.

I could talk alot about the new logo, but just gonna drop it. Until we swap our the forum header image, you can do a direct comparison. This will be the official EN look and will be on all our new kit (hint, hint) moving forward. Old skool logo will still be recognized, but this is the new bad a$$ stuff. Feel free to tak and replace on your blogs, etc. Tell me if you want more flavors, etc!

  • I like it! As luck (or unluck) would have it I need a new race kit!
  • looks great!  I think coach R was saying you may not go with Sugoi for the new kits which would make this even better!!!

  • Ooh! Fancy with all the colors! What are the one color and two color options? (You know, for tattoos).

    [Edit / Here you go!]

  • Just be sure to have a kit option for the "no longer Clydesdale but still too damn big to be doing Ironman races" kind of people!

  • @Mark - LoL... heck, in the Sugoi kits even lil peeps like me feel like a sausage... and the tramp stamp tan line, while super sexy, just isn't all that!  I voted for LG and it seemed like Rich already had some ideas... fingers crossed.

  • Yep, we are in the final, final, final design stages of the kit and should have images for you soon.

    • Tri kit will be LG and we'll offer shorts for pre-order (ie, you buys them first and we order them)
    • Cycling kit will be Capo. Jersey (full zip :-), bibs, armwarmers, maybe jackets and vests. I asked Vikki, Sawiris' GF, what she is doing for bibs (his new WB kit is Capo) and she's wearing men's small, works well for her. We may do women's shorts though, for preorder.

Again, more details, images, prices, ordering information, etc coming soon. We want to have everything wrapped up and orders placed with the manufacturers by Nov 1.

  • @Becky, I have an epic double tramp stamp tan line that I think will be with me for some time to come. One layer was burned from a season of RRs in the kit, the second line was burned in at IMWI where my kid was apparently riding higher than normal. Suffice to say, my look is all the rage at masters swimming.

Dig the new logos, and as everyone else pointed out Sugoi is tiny, I usually wear medium and a Men's large is a tight fit for me at ~150 pounds.

  • Nicely done. I'm still hoping you'll add the Chica logo somewhere on the ladies kit :-)
  • @Rich - RAWK ON... as a chica, bike/tri shorts would be cool... provided they're more flattering than the current model... I just added a suggestion in the suggestion thread - any chance to get technical shirts with the logo to run in?

@Trevor, I see your double tramp stamp tan line and raise you sunburn etched race numbers on both my arms.  Seriously, I've got 535 tan lines on both arms from this past weekends RR (an iron-distance AV).  Coupled with the tramp stamp and bike short lines, small children and adults alike run screaming when they see me approaching the water at the pool.  I'm a total freak!

  • The logo is fine, but how it's worked into an entire kit is everything. The current kit is OK, but doesn't have any pop...and the shorts are silly looking which is why I use plain black. It's worth paying a graphics artist to get a uniform with some real pizzaz!
  • @Nemo, nope, sorry, but we can do another round of visors for you if you like.

@Becky, I think we can do that. Also, we plan to fire up a complete CafePress store where you can order your own race weekend shirts, coffee mugs, doggie snuggies and more!

@Paul, we're on it. It looks good and you'll like it. What's bugged me is the Connect Learn Achieve thing on the jersey. Not nearly badass enough for us. We're putting our Work is Speed stuff squarely on your back and likely across the back of your cycling shorts, in the face of training partners getting their legs ripped off

  • You asked for it RnP. image

If you guys offer a new cycling kit, maybe a full zip top?

    You asked for it RnP.

If you guys offer a new cycling kit, maybe a full zip top?

See above, full zip . Homey only rolls in bibs and full zip, so I can completely unzip on the climbs and show off my mushroom farmer tan and St Whatever europro medal for the cameras...

  • Looks great! LG and Capo stuff is NIIICE.

Agree that Work is speed is more badass than Connect Learn Achieve. What's really badass is Xbox/1. Love putting that sticker all over my bike and helmet.
  • Ooh! Likely alternate logos. RnP, do you have identity guidelines? If not, may I volunteer for the write RnP identity guidelines committee?

I approve of Capo and LG.

And I have hearts and bunnies love for Nemo's idea of getting the four-keys girl on the women's kit somewhere. -- I can hook you up with that eps file.

Nemo -- if not officially available on kit, may be a sew-on patch?

  • Beth- great minds think alike :-) Was about to email you about creating such a thing :-)

R- We've got 3 Chica Visors left in inventory for now. If we run out we can re-order.
  • Ladies, we want to play nice with you. image Having sep mens/womens kit means volunteer designer guy has more work, but we'll take care of that. I need to see the logo, need a hi-res version to admin@en.us and then I will get it to him. He can come back to us with placement ideas, etc., based on the other layouts we have. That cool? He is a one man design committee keeping us in check. image
  • Maybe we can make the EN logos (regular, varied colors, and chica stuff) all accessible in a downloadable file somewhere specific so that we can use them for patches, tattoos, etc.? I actually was thinking of this before WI as I have some disposable-ish arm warmers, and was thinking it would have been fun to print the logo out on some of that T-shirt transfer stuff and iron it on them in case I needed them, but I was a bit rushed and couldn't find a logo that would download to my 'puter properly. I tried some from the forums but they didn't work, so I gave up. Maybe this is already somewhere and I just couldn't find it?
  • Full zip cycling jerseys are key, guess I will not have to have my local friendly dry cleaner lady but the new one in half and install a full zip like I did with the last one...makes it $14 cheaper at the end of the day

  • @Jennifer, we have that but let us get everything set up on our end before we let everyone have at it. Cool?

@Chris, yep, that's what I did but apparently LA prices are higher . Capo = invisible zip, not a big honkin' white or black zipper right through the design.

  • I like it! Bra tops an option like we had before?

  • amen to the full zip. image soooooooo much easier for us bib chicks.

You mean the bras that no one bought, or have taken us years to sell?

Only if they are preordered and we make the minimum quantity requirements

  •  glad to hear that about the tech shirts for running, that is great news!  Also, will you have stickers with the new logo?

Really? I tried to order one several times and was always told they were no more available!  LOL! I thought they looked snazzy. Anyway, I'm in if the numbers work out. Looking forward to ordering the new stuff.

  • Is a red headsweats cap with the new bad ass logo in the future for us?

x2 on Linda's suggestion.  I tried to order, too... my size isn't available... perhaps pre-order (or just get more S and M for those of us who are less endowed - I'm going out on a limb here but I think a majority (meaning more than average) women triathlete's wear a S bra and are more prone to a M shirt bc of the shoulders we develop swimming... )!

as far as running gear - Tracy made a good point on the suggestion thread re: fitted for women!  I'm all for getting it on Cafe Press provided that it's technical.  FWIW, I REALLY like the under armour technical t's.  The material is nice and light and the women's fit is great!

  • I'm likin' the new look. This will really stand out on visors and the other gear.
  • I have fit kits coming from LG and Capo so I can check the stuff out.

My personal bottomline for all of this is: over the years I've lost a smart kid's college tuition on unsold tri gear, usually from trying to make everyone happy.

So when you say "can we please have women's cut tech-t's and red puppy beanies sizes xs, m, and XL only" my head screams unsold inventory .

So, we will do our best to get everyone in, and will keep a small inventory on hand of:

    • Cycling jerseys
    • Cycling shorts
    • Tri tops
    • Tri shorts

But the funky stuff will need to be ordered and if we dont make the minimum it won't happen. Everyone saw those boxes of kit that showed up with me at all the camps, the races, etc? That's odd sized stuff that we ordered back in the day, either for people who changed their minds or for us to have an inventory. "Fool me once." This stuff just gets VERY expensive, VERY fast, especially $20 tech t's, $20 visors x 20 unsold = $400 sitting in a box...hope you understand.
