  •  So here are a few observations from my training for this event:

    • B&J are sold in 500mL containers in Canada - that means participating from north of the border requires 5.4% more work;
    • Anything with brownies in it is too hard to eat;
    • we have different flavors then in the US - I am still looking for one called "Peanut Butter Tracks" that contain 100g fat and 1520 cal per 500mL!!!!

    Can we extend TT to Sunday? Maybe so the cheering Chicago Marathon crew and runners can participate?

    @Beth - Sorry for the delay in responding.  I had to submit a RFTTCPC (Request For Time Trial Challenge Program Change) to EN corporate.  After two committe reviews and much discussion at the "VP" level your request to extend the challenge through Sunday, October 9th received the following answer:

    "Fook Yes! "

    So the ICTT is now called the "Kona Weekend and Chicago Marathon Ice Cream Time Trial Challenge."

    Please refer to this approval code if you have any further questions: xyfuyga8979hoe8yeo8iy298wyo8yw98yo2iyw8u2y9ow8y9w8.

    Thank you for your submission.

    Have a nice day.

  • John- you are on a roll! That last post totally cracks me up. Thanks for the extension. Hoping the Chicago gang can make something special out of it this year!
  • My weapon of choice for this weekend.  What's yours?

  • PLEASE HELP!!!   Here's the thing I don't know what my weapon of choice should be for tomorrow...  Please help.  Dulce Delish is the only smooth choice of the 3 but is caramel and I don't love the flavor.  Half baked is my favorite B&J's, but might be hard to get down the pieces of brownie and cookie dough quickly.  Late Night snack, hmmm.... I've never had it...  Never try anything new on raceday right?  but it sounds so yummy with chocolate covered potato chips and salty caramel swirls, sounds delicious.  So ENers...  What should I do?

  •  I say do all three!

  • I'm so in!! Do you have to keep it all down for a certain amount of time to count? What if you throw up? Instant DNF?? image This is hilarious...
  • Extra points for projectile vomit!

    I couldn't find my flavor... wanted plain chocolate... went to 2 grocery stores and 3 convienience stores but no dice..... Had all the funky kewl favors but not the plain stuff.  Ended up with ...

    ....I might have some issues swallowing the chunks.... But hey, when it comes time to toe the line, you just got to run with what ya brung!

  • I went to the grocery store last night, and was walking down the ice cream aisle thinking of this challenge.

    My main thought was "wow, what an ice cream headache this would give". Then my thinking went to "I'm slightlly lactose intolerant and haven't had that much ice cream in several years, so I don't know how my body would react" - and that's where it stayed. BUT, I bought a pint of Chocolate Chip cookie dough any way, and will eat it sparingly over the next few days in honor of you all that are throwing caution to the wind. Enjoy!
  • Doh!! image

    Was all set to go when I went to check on my equipment in the freezer - Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - when, to my horror, found that my teenagers had broken the seal and eaten half the carton!! It's just like the feeling of coming into T1 and seeing you have a flat!. But I'm staying in my box - quickly decided that I should finish the rest for some last minute training - practiced with both the big spoon and little spoon.....it's going to be a last minute decision on which spoon depending on how windy it is.....So now it's back to the store to restock! Thinking I'll get 2 cartons so have one for special needs....

    @John - I'd go with the Half Baked - If it's your favorite, will go down easier as you get toward your lactate threshold! image
  • 4:53 for Peanut Butter Cup. It was the one time I was cursing the amount of chunks. Good thing I crushed myself on my 100 mile ride this morning.
  • Dang Brian! I had a 7:35 for What a Cluster...clearly I need more training!!!
  • Umm ... confusion on data entry. My read is that calories and calories from fat are 'per serving' from looking at the calculations. Maybe I got it wrong, any WSM's want to clarify?
  • I went with the Half Baked...  The chunks of Brownie and Cookie dough definitely cost me some time...

  • @John - CLASSIC!  I love the Bike Out on the driveway!  And you may wanna cut off the last 8 inches of that wet suit.  Easier to get off that way.

    Great job!

    I will do mine tonight.  Stay tuned.

  • John...LOVED the creativity and speed. I have neither on my video...will try to upload soon. Overall a great improvement on your T1 time!
  • @John - Well Done Mate - Outstanding execution. Loved that you even had a chip on your ankle! But the best part of the video is hearing either Luke or JT laughing at you every time you skirted water on yourself!! And nice improvement in transition time....

    OK - on my end - I'm in trouble. My Sherpa teenager has abandoned me image

    Thus - no real way to do video and trying to do it with this stupid sling on because of the broken collar bone isn't making it any easier. Have also found in training that trying to really go after the container with one hand holding the spoon is like trying to do areo bars with one arm...image

    So for now I'm on hold - but I'm confident I'll figure out a way to go sub 4 minutes! I've done the intervals and the weather conditions are good. Hope to have race report in soon! image
  • I started and quit within 45 seconds. Teeth were too painful. Next year's version - On the trainer, during FTP test, eating ice cream - that is an ice cream TT =).
  • Beth and Nemo's TT video. We had Strawberry Cheesecake and Triple Fudge Brownie. We each had a hare over a serving. Even though we didn't see bottoms of pints, here's our video appeal of why we deserve our participation medals.

  •  @Brian - you killed it!  I was looking for that flavor, but could find it.  Huge total calories.

    I went 4:26 with "If I had 1,000,000 flavors".  A Canadian offering that I thought could score some points and move me forward in the "intangible" section.  I could have gone faster if I wasn't distracted by my younger daughters doing the "cheese ball" challenge.

    Now I have to figure out how to get the video of the oldest iPad.  I am Canadian, eh?  I would have no trouble getting it off my Blackberry!

  • I am so bummed that I missed out on this today!  I am quite the ice cream eater.  But I just got back from my cross race and am too wiped out to put away a whole pint.  But I did come in first in my class!!

  • Noob question here...how do I download the you tube video I too of the ICTT? I added pics to my album, and they posted to the dashboard. However, I don't know how to get them to show here in this forum...

    @Julia...Congrats on a 1st place!!
  • @Annie:  Go to your YouTube vid, click the Share button below it and then the Embed button below that.  Copy the embed stuff and paste into your post where you normally type.  It's that easy!

  •  OK, posting this just under the wire.  11:10 PMish PST here in Cali.

    All I have to say is HOLY MOLEY!  Did it.  And my body has been buzzing all night.  The sugar had me shaking.  Man, it wasn't tough to do but my body has been pissed ever since.    Glad I did it though.

    Here is my vid.  I have some comments during the music and a special tribute to Kitima at 4:24 in.

    Enjoy

  • John-- Your video is "Blocked"... You have to do your own video and not just plagiarize someone else eating ice cream from some movie or something...
  • @Johnny "T1" Withrow - It plays fine for me, brotha.  Anyone else having issues with my lame video?

  • Copyright block from the forums, but I can watch it from Facebook.

  •  Let's try in a new post:

    Can you watch this one?

    OK...let's see if this works...my first time on You tube posting a video.

    FYI....Its a long one because I am slow!! image
  • @Annie - The video is marked private so we can't see it.  :-(  Go back to YouTube and below the video (I believe) you can change fro private to public.

    FYI - Now my video is blocked.  :-(  Guess the Van Halen "Ice Cream Man" song is blocking it.  Oh well.
