  • OK...changed it...let me know if it works. Like I said, it is LONG. Clearly I need a lot of practice for next year!! image
  • @Annie - Great lines, "trying for a negative split" - "1,300 calories - sweet!"  - "It' a new PR."

    Loved the deep breaths!

Beth and Nemo, Annie is a lean (and looks like and looks like a) li'l peep like you two.  Time for you lady VETS to step up!      I think I can get a waiver from RadnP for ya.

  • Finally got this together and uploaded.... Recorded Saturday afternoon around 2:30 PM.....

  • @ John W...Genius!! Truly deserving of the win!

@John S...Thanks for taking the time to watch my video, like I said...it's a long one! image

@Steve...My kids are loving watching these, and were in hysterics at your ice cream burps!!
  • @Annie - Just flawless execution. No spillage down the chin or on the table. And setting a new PR, with a negative split - just outstanding. I can see you making the Kona race at Lava Java in your future.

@ Steve - Well done - The sounds of your time trial - screams, moans, burps and chattering teeth - definitely earn you some points. (afraid the ice cream on the chin is a minor downward adjustment). I'm confident that if you continue your training, especially working on bringing up your power to spoon threshold, that you have some age group wins coming!

    Great Work Team!!
  • These are GREAT!!!  I never knew how funny it is to watch people eat on fast forward.  I am SO BUMMED I missed out!!  I know I coulda been a contender!  I just *know* it!!  Please tell me we are going it again next year.

John, how do I see your vid on facebook?  I get the blocked content thingie...

  • @ John W: I love that not only did you have a timing chip on your ankle, you drew a giant BIKE OUT on your driveway!!!!

  • Testing to see if I can embed the Facbook video here.  Can anyone see it?

  • no....  Can you send me to the you tube spot??

  • Shoulda just done this in the first place.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJxJ5RCk4jA

Lemme know if you can see that.

  • I still can't see it...  I get the same message - blocked by something something...

  • John, I think we need to have a compilation of these in an annual ICTT Page....maybe on the wiki? where we can refer to them from year to year!
  • In terms of both lowest time and style points: John Withrow by a mile.
  • Well, certainly was not me - I came in dead last. For a few minutes there I thought I was going out with a DNF from a brain-freeze. But I was able to suck-it-up and finish strong. Next year I need to go bigger on the fat calories and faster overall. I learned a lot in the process and I am just happy to be healthy enough to compete.

Congrtats to all the competitors! Well done!
  • I think I have to agree with Bill. J Withrow clearly had a good time- it could have been the fastest. And then when you add the style points - I mean no one else had a big "Bike Out" written on their driveway - or was eating so fast he had to squirt himself with water to stay cool, to the laughs of his kids...(Although Steve's chattering teeth were pretty good).

I agree that we need to find a place to store these. Hoping that next year I'm in a better place to compete - going with one arm due to the broken collar bone is a no fun handicap...

Congrats JW. Keep training for next year's IC time trial - this way I'll know I be able to smoke you up the hills...!
  • Ha! Thanks everyone. I can say that I did way more than the requisite 2 RR's in the weeks leading up to the event. I also did not taper as I continued to dust of many pints in the 3 weeks leading up to the big event. In fairness, my pint was probably not as frozen as others as it was ~82 degrees in NJ the day of my TT and I put my B&J in my T1 bag before I put my wetsuit on. I really enjoyed watching all of the other video's and I think Steve definitely wins the best burp award!

I could not have done it without the support of my wife and kids and my whole EN family. I made sure to watch all past yr's videos and leverage the teams extensive knowledge base to truly attempt to be an icE cream Ninja. My only regret was that I didn't pee in T1 during my video (but I did pee in my wetsuit!)... Maybe next yr...
