Guys - sorry to say, I'm out. Today is the last day to get the 50% refund and I'm cutting my losses. I'll go to the micro later and ask about substituting a Bike Big Week instead. really bummed out on seveal different levels.
But at least I didn't break my back like Rich and land in the hospital. So compared to our fearless leader's current situation, I'm still schuckin' and jivin' and having a good ol' time!
Dang it but I am having to rop out as well. Work has me buried right now, 5 straight weeks on the road, not counting this trip. Anyone know the protocol for canceling?
@Dusty - look at the link for registering. It says 50% by today. Send a note to our EN admin and tell them you are out. I included my receipt so they had the details of my registration. I also sent an e-mail to the Diane Golden (?) that I made reservations with so the hotel room is cancelled as well.
This is not what I had planned and will plan to go to the next one for sure!
@Joe - Thanks. I did that last night as well as messaged the guys through Work Works on FB. Have you received a response? I have already heard back from Diane Golden on the room reservation. I hate missing it!
@Dusty - yes, Diane sent me an e-mail confirming my cancellation. I have not heard anything back from 'admin@endurancenation.us' or 'enation.admin@gmail.com' where I sent my cancellation and request for refund. Although I sent it in yesterday, I still "made it under the wire" with the request before 1 March.
As bad as I feel about cancelling, I know I'm gonna feel worse if I go and I go on furlough one day a week. Patience and discipline works on this as well!
I just contacted Trisports and they say its $100 for build/pack and shipping is extra. In addition they do not Know anything about getting the bike to the resort. They refered me to Lynne or John Stark. Who is organizing this? I will probably use this anyway but the expense is growing and now I need to rent a car to pickup at shop.
Trying to plan what to bring. Should I bring pool toys(fins paddles, bouy) bike pump? What is EN going to have for our use just so I don't have to overpack. Or should I just bring all my favorites?
Patrick is organizing this camp and I don't know what's been lined up in the way of support, tools, etc. However, i'm driving out and will bring basic tools and a bike pump. I can also pick up a bunch of tubes from WB. Would be super groovy if anyone else driving out could also bring a pump.
Riley and I will probably SAG most of the rides, as I don't think I'm up for a 2-3hr ride just yet.
Looking forward to the camp - counting down the days! I will be driving and can bring pump as well as basic tools for bike adjustments. I don't really have any swim toys - assuming the local pool will have pull buoys, etc.
also, Robert, pack your own bike and bring a pedal wrench and hex wrenches. the guys at Trisports are overwhelmed and although they may be awesome they seem too busy to really attend to us.
Yasko recommended sending bike by shipbikes.com directly to hotel which is what I'm going to do. I am using hard case so I can put stuff in it like shoes, helmet water bottles etc. This seems like the most reasonable solution. You might want to rent a vehicle to transport yourself to hotel.... unless there is a shuttle which would also give you benefit of being able to go shopping from time to time.
I'm living vicariously through you guys, and I'm counting on you. Your food stops - and I would never steer you wrong - are:
-You want at least one breakfast at Teresa's @ http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Overview.aspx?RefID=5329. I ate there three years ago and still think about it. -Tuesday is $2.50 Fish Tacos at Rubios. My post-ride record is nine in one sitting. -You want a Sonoran Hot Dog (or three) and beer at BK Carne Asada & Hot Dogs @ http://www.roadfood.com/EatingTours/5/tucson-sonoran-hot-dogs. What you don't want is to leave one wrapped in the car and forget about for a full day in 88 degree direct sun. No, sir.

@Rian, I am having to bail and my roommate was going to be Trevor... Might want to reach out to him to fill the spot.
Otherwise I have a backup place to stay in town if all else fails.

any response on pool toys?
I had the same question.

got to go
I'll have hex wrenches, chain whip, etc
Dunno about pool toys, I would assume they will have some, if not, no big deal.
Hi all, I coordinated the pool reservation so I asked for you in regards to pool toys:
The pool will have plenty kickboards and pull-buoys. Bring your own paddles, googles and caps, if you need them.
I'm also driving down and will bring a pump and basic tool kit.
Anybody has one ready?????
Look for an email from us tomorrow or Friday with an agenda and more info. PnI were digging into the details today.
thanks for the info and setting this all up!
Love me some Barton Springs! I'll have to hit ATX to get in some bike hills, town lake running and some swim time at Barton soon!

@ Dave, thanks for the food info!
@Juan, I'll be down tomorrow afternoon. Planning to get in around 2pm. Might be able to get a short ride 60-90min in the afternoon, before dinner?
