I did my 5K trial yesterday. I improved from 29:00 to 27:52. I think I pushed too hard because I stayed on my calculated maximal heart (156) the whole 5K but I didn't slow down at any time. Also I selected a course a little bit irregular. I am not sure where to put this data. I tried to enter Data Tool but it keep rejecting me. Probably I am missing something.
A Race: Cranberry Olympic (Haven't worked my way up to IM yet)
OS Goals: Figure out what's wrong with my right leg muscles by my hip which keep me from running correctly, I don't know what FTP or VDot are so no idea there, increase strength on the bike and increase strength and speed on the run.
About me: I don't take good pictures so you can reference my profile pic as that's the only one I have that looks halfway decent, I have 2 teenage children - 1 does tri with me and 1 that I try to convince to run and a very supportive husband, I recently quit my day job to do swim coaching full time, and I REALLY want to get on the podium next season.
OS Goals - 1) Regain fitness lost after a pretty dismal 2012; 2) Learn how to train with power; 3) Lose 15 pounds; 4) Get excited again about triathlon
About me - I've been doing tri's since 2005, culminating with IM Coz in 2011. I took 2012 off and learned that the only foolproof way to keep me motivated and working out is having a race on the horizon. So, with that in mind, I signed up for IM CDA. When I prepared for IM Coz, I did a lot of long and slow workouts which got me through the race but it was long and slow. So, I'm looking forward to the EN approach and want to see how fast I can go.
2013 B race Kalamzoo Marathon and A race Ironman Lake Tahoe
OS goals:
Swim - focus on technique with a swim coach
Bike - FTP 275
Run - Break 19 min 5k Vdot 52+
I'm 41 years old father of a 16 year old daughter Anna and a 13 year old son Aaron. I own my own electrical contracting business Prime Quality Electric, LLC. I have always been a runner since high school. I got into triathlon in 2008 doing 3 sprint tris. I ran my first marathon that fall. I fell in love with the sport and the distance. In 2009 I completed my first HIM at Steelhead in Benton Habor, MI. In 2010 I did the Race for Recovery HIM distance race in Monroe, MI. I had a PR of 5:05 at that race even with a calf cramp coming out of the swim. That fall I completed Ironman WI with a time of 12:32. I took the year off in 2011 just doing 5k runs for fun. In 2012 I did Ironman LP with a time of 14:48. My wheels just fell off at that race. I became dyhrated coming off the bike. Started cramping bad at mile 6 and walked the last 20 miles.I plan on going back to LP to have the race I planned! This OS I'm going to tweak the screws, learn from others, gain technique and speed in my swim. I want to push myself to new limits and come out faster.
Will upload a picture later. All are to big and I don't have and racing pics since they are not on my camera.
Chris Kuebert, Seal Beach, CA - A Races - Oceanside 70.3, IM Lake Tahoe
Goals - Increase FTP, VDot, lose weight get stronger all around
Bout Me - Just got married in June, very understanding wife she travels alot so during the week training time is whenever I feel like it and as long as I like. I brew beer therefore I drink beer which means after everywork out i get a nice hoppy reward. First year with coach/coaches, first year doing a Full IM, probably the last for a while but we will see how it goes. Love the spirit and comraderie going in the EN Nation.
About me - I'm married to a very supportive wife and triathlete as well as a father to two beautiful girls. I started doing triathlons in 2008 after watching my wife have so much fun! I'm new to EN but I'm enjoying everything so far - it's a great community!
A race - IM CDA. It will be my first IM. Figure it's a good goal to have at 45.
Other races - I'm looking to add an early HIM and then some Olys after CDA.
Nov OS goals - To stay committed/dedicated to the training and become a faster/better runner. I'm a painfully slow runner right now!
OS Goals: Continue to recover my 2010 levels after losing 2011 to injury and learning how to train and race again in 2012
About me: I've been racing triathlons for 18 years. After getting hurt during the first tri of the year in 2011 and missing the entire season, 2012 was a year of starting to regain fitness. It was also the first year that I raced with my son and was the most fun I've ever had. 2013 main goal is to continue to have fun racing with my teenage son.
Hi! I am Jenny and live in Wichita KS. This will be my fourth year of 1/2 IM racing! I am excited to be participating in 2 A races the first half of the year... February a 20 mile trail race near KC KS and the Kansas 70.3 in June. Beyond that, I am considering Boulder 70.3 and the full at Pike's Peak, both in August!
My biggest OS goal is to get stronger off the bike to my run! I do both well but not so well back to back. At least not in races! I love going fast... so getting faster is another big OS goal!
I work crazy hours as a nurse pracitioner, have a wonderful supportive husband of 20 years and 2 great kids! One of which is an IronKid and XC superstar. They all join me for training and do a great job of entertaining me during long rides on my computrainer!
I am looking forward to a great OS with team EN and getting to know lots of great new athletes!
OS Goals: 1. DO NOT GET INJURED (bad history here); 2. Get faster on the bike; 3. Drop about 15 lbs to get to my goal racing weight
Tahoe will be my first full IM and I am super excited! Hoping to stay healthy through the OS and once the races get going, so that I can rock the IM when it finally gets here!
Hi everyone! My name is Maureen Paone. I'm 51 yrs old and I'm from Middletown, NJ.
My 'A' race this year will be HIM Eagleman in June then HIM Timberman in mid-August. When I saw everyone was doing Quassy, I looked to see if I could get my money back from Eagleman. That's a no, they said they would keep half. I said "I'll be there"!
Feb. of 2012 I woke up and said I think I'd like to do a triathlon. Bought a wetsuit, a road bike, new running shoes and off I went. I did a few sprints, a couple of Oly's, then did my first HIM (Poconos) this past Sept. Crazy, but I'm addicted!

Grew up in a place we called "Sunken City" - a 50's era development between Navasink Rd and Cooper Rd, right off Rt 35.
Did Timberman this year - great venue, well laid out. You will really enjoy it.
