My A race is Ironman Lake Placid, with a Rev 3 QUASSY possibly thrown in for good measure.

Super psyched to be here. As I laid in ICU post MI a little over 5 years ago I made the decision to complete an Ironman in my backyard of Lake Placid. I have completed a little over 30 tris since then of varying distances, and have been a diligent student of the sport. It has been a very patient slow build to get me to my goal and have been very respectful of the distance by not jumping into the distance too soon. Having completed two successful 70.3s last season, I feel my time has come. The final piece of the puzzle is falling into place by being part of this team and all the info and MOJO it provides. So my super (although not too secret now) goal is simple:

    MI --> IM

Psyched to be sharing the field of battle with you all!

  • Name - Brenda Ross
State - no State. I live in Canada, so the Province of Ontario (Ottawa to be exact)
    A Race - IMWI
Double Top Secret Training Goal - to be able to finish my first Ironman without anyone knowing, except the team and a few close friends, so no FB postings on IMWI training.
  • Rian Bogle

    Flagstaff, AZ

A Races are IMCdA and IMAZ

Hunting for sub 10hr at IMAZ so I can roll with the big boys in 2014! That means I need to pick-up at least 8min Swim, 25 watts bike, and 2-3 Vdot run. I'll be hitting it hard this OS!

  •  Well, I'm back too.  First time I've started this late, but I think the 14 weeks will be good.

    • William Jenks
    • Now a Corn-field mafioso (Iowa), transplanted from days in CA and NY
    • I pulled a real boner at the LV 70.3s last year that I really want to avenge.  But I'm no lock to make it to LV to begin with and I'm at the top of the age group this year.  So the A race for now is KS 70.3 and we'll see what happens from there.
    • My top secret goal doesn't sound very exciting, but it's a challenge for me:  no letdowns in any of my three legs at KS.  No bad swim.  No dead legs on the bike from a not-quite-right taper.  And I insist I will run strong the whole way and not let them run out of ice before I finish...no matter how hot it is or which wave I'm in.  :-)  I want to be racing the last 5K.

¦ Hack the OS by following the bike protocol, but going high volume-high quality on the run like I used to do. I've tried to build far in the Tampa summer and it doesn't work. You've got to do it when the weather is right and hang on to it. That is a fact of life adjustment for this climate.
  • Well well well the JOS gangster crew is starting to form and become cohesive. The start gate is soon here. The peeps I see below have alot to bring to gang. We have Keith, William and H Bad to get awesome feedback. We have new peeps to gain and soak up knowledge to be a better competitor. We have reps from the far west, central, south, eastcoast and finally the North us internationals, I am looking forward to this down and dirty 14 weeks.7

So Steve from Ottawa Canada not a state but a province

My "A" race is IM MOO with my lovely wifes first crack at IM (Awesome)

As well doing Rev 3 Quassy so I am designating this as an "A" race starting out of the gate in 2013!

My goal this OS is to use bike power ( first year) to improve my cycling and not sacrifice my running. I am a HR perceived ext on the bike for many years so I have had to become disciplined.

My OA goaL this OS is to learn and develop as a smarter cyclist. Then apply as I move forward in the trg/race season.

Oh yah,"Did I say stalk the honey badger:" to keep me honest! LOL!!

Hopefully the successful effect will show in my ":A" races.

So bottom line goals improve my bike, keep sub 4 hr IM marathon and somehow not sink on my swimming. And most of all watch Brenda come over the finish line in Wisconsin!

See you all on Jan 7th and Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Hanukkah!

  • @ Larry-

complete EVERY workout?  Holy Crap.  Wow, OK, that's shooting very high.  Trouble with that one might be that you feel you have to double or triple up on some days when you're feeling beat down, so be careful.

but, if you pull it off, dang, I got a $2 bill I'll send ya just for the point of it!

  • Dan Huhn

    • Ironman Lake Tahoe (my 3rd Ironman)
    • Two Goals this year:
    1. Continue to improve my swimming and get below 2:00/100m (I first started swimming in 2010 and have improved, but need so much more work)
    2. Using Core Diet focus on getting weight between 210-215 for Lake Tahoe.  That should put my bike FTP around 3.5 - 3.6 watts per kilogram.

Looking forward to rocking the OS and going to Tuscon in March for the EN camp!
