¦ 2013 is all sprints and olys to get faster. All races are repeats from previous years so goal is to improve at every race vs. previous year, in every leg of the race.
Bill McKee Lake Zurich, IL (NW suburbs of Chicago) 2013 A Race: Racine 70.3
5th OS
Goal: Starting OS on the comeback trail from a ridiculous snow shovel injury that I've aggravated repeatedly. After a compromised summer, I finally took some extended time completely off from training in Sep-Oct and restarted a bit too fast so took a bit more time to be ready for OS. So I am starting slow like a beginner with goal of building through OS into Race Prep without re-aggrevating it. Looking forward to a fun EN team event in Racine as well as the annual trip to IMWI to root for the team!
I was sitting here today wearing my silly "figure 8" sling with broken collar bone and actually thought, well it has been 3 weeks, perhaps I jump in with January guys.... So lame. What I am thinking? I think I need a few more weeks before I can manage more work than an easy spin or a "tempo" walk.
Vacations and Holidays are over. Time to start training.
State: UT
A race: IM Lake Tahoe
Goal: 10 hours? Tough to know what the times will be, but I suspect the course will be similar to IMCDA. Finally, a race where living above 5000' is an advantage.Still looking for the elusive Kona slot.
Bill Wiseman South Carolina IMFL "A" race...maybe do IMLou as warmup...both are drive distance Have fun at everything this year and run , ALOT. Doing run volume thru frequency and lovin it.
David Kennedy Hampton, New Hampshire "A"race is IMMT Second year with EN Goals: increase FTP from 257 to 270 and Vdot from 51.1 to 53 Stay injury free and finish my second IM and lower my time by 1 hour
Sue Chapman Madison, WI "A" Race- IMOO (will be 2nd IM - did IMOO in 2011) Training goal - complete 95% of workouts (and hold as much of my 50 mile run fitness - what's left of it from October)!
Jessica Bell Colorado Springs, CO A Race: Boulder HIM...again! Goal. PR, really PR all 3 events! And to be very consistent in training, don't skip anything unless sick.
Goals: Get used to 6800 ft (just arrived from 134 ft above sea level), get under 200 lbs (-17), complete Boulder Tri Series, improve my swim (2/100), and have a great time at IM Tahoe.
A Race: 2nd HIM, to be selected Patriot? Pumpkinman?
Not so secret training goals:
1. Fully embrace the EN bike interval training system by bonding with the new Christmas trainer. Completed first ever interval session by DJ'ing a mix of Ryan Montbleau, the Features and Toots and the Maytals. Tunes can get you through.
2. Write a race report as entertaining and fabulous as Sir Bart of IMCDA race report fame. I'll never get over the image of the super fit tri children doing pull-ups in the trees- even if it was poetic license, it felt true!
Hey EN Members! Happy New Year from Canada! After a less than healthy November/December (iron issues) and now trying to battle the cold/flu, I am hoping to finally get back on track with the January OutSeason group and look forward to training with my fellow Ottawa Sleeper Cell members.

I'll be casually joining in on the Jan OS. I just finished my big winter goal of racing 2 trail half marathons in 3 days - 12/29/12 and 1/1/13. The races went well and now my legs are whooped. I am taking this year "off" from a set 'A' race and will jump into local races as my schedule and mood dictates. My husband is doing Boston and IM Lake Tahoe so he and I will follow along on the program.
I live in Northern California 44 years old Had a great 2012 preceded by 13 straight years of long course racing.
