The Tour is doable by an Endurance Nation athlete, male or female, fast or slow, vet or noob, who shows up in May with the fitness that EN is able to give you through consistent, focused training from now through May via the OS and subsequent plans. The ToC is a great event to put on the calendar to provide with you a focus for your winter and early spring training.
how do our bike box/cases get from Sacramento to LA?
They don't, see my first post. You'll need to ship your bike to me, to arrive no later than Thursday. I assemble and bring up to Sac to meet you. Ride, ride, ride all week, box up your bike at my place on Saturday and fly home via the last flight out of LAX on Saturday either with your bike or I can ship it out for you on Monday.
Can't wait to do this camp again! It's too bad no Solvang this time, but I'm looking forward to a rematch with GMR, and Sierra Rd, and especially Baldy! Hopefully Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd will be on tap again, that was one of my favorite climbs from the '11 camp.
Now it's time to get my FTP up and my body Chicken skinny!

Nice! GMR will be awesome, as you know what to expect, and we'll have several locals with us (Dino, Jon, Peter, Lynda, and Bill). And time to get into bikini-shape for the climb up Baldy
I sent in my deposit and forgot to ask if Patrick is going to be there. Not sure if we are supposed to do this again at the same time since the epic double crash of 2010.
Rich-- I have a buddy I'm trying to get to join EN (He's doing IMCHATT too) and he would love to do the camp. Does he have to join EN first?
He is a cool dude...like all us. If you know what I mean
No, not necessary to be a member of EN. We have 5 folks coming who aren't members but I either know them very well (Bill and Lynda) or are coming with an EN member (Jeremy and his friends). I have not and will not advertise this to the public. Very, very important that we have known, vetted quantities stuck in the vans with us for 7 days, as you know
If you vouch for him then he's good. I still have 2 slots remaining.
Jeremy, having done training camps with Stephanie Stevens & Al T, as well as a Ragnar with both and playing sherpa for Teri at LP & Kona, along with you and the other personalities, Especially coach R, this trip is going to be off the hook... I think most of us are in the January OS as well., so we should fire up the smack talk now!

Yep. The LA locals are bringing the game: Jon, Peter and I put up 5.2k of gain in 49 miles yesterday, mostly short punchy stuff. Lynda Neuman always climbs a ton, and Dino is whittling away at the body comp.
Quick question... Do we know yet how or where those of us that will fly into Sacramento will get to accomadations?
At this time I don't know if we will staying Saturday night in Sacramento or in Nevada City. I'm waiting to see what the course is for Stage 1, on Sunday. Specifically, if it's something we want to ride. If yes, we'll stay Saturday night in Sac. If no, we'll drive up to Nevada City on Saturday and roll our own ride for Sunday, then pick the riding with the Tour on their Stage 2, on Monday.
People are flying into Sac across a wide range of times. From about 11a through 3-4p. If we're staying in Sac that night, I'll probably ask you guys to use hotel shuttles, etc to get from the airport to the hotel. If we're staying not-in-Sac on Saturday, I'll pick a rally point (bar) where you guys can meet us when we get to town at about 4p.
Rich: How many people are flying in to Sacramento on Saturday? I live just outside Sacramento in Carmichael which is about 30 min from the airport. Christi and I can help pick up teammates and their bikes and transport them to the hotel or bar. Also, the gym where we work out has a 50m pool and I can "sponsor" ($20 guest fee) anyone who wants to get a swim workout in on Saturday or Sunday (open 7am to 7pm). And if anyone wants to get a run in, there's a great trail (American River Parkway) that goes for over 20 miles nearby. Let me know if we can be of service.

Hey Bob,
Thanks for the offer but I'm not sure we'll be able to take you up on it. Due to the (formidable) logistics of this camp, everyone is either meeting me in LA and driving up with their bikes in the vans, or is shipping their bikes to me and I assemble. We won't have time to do a swim and any running will need to be early AM before we ride. I generally advise people to put down the tri hat for a week and just ride. We don't have much time or energy for anything other than eat, sleep and ride
Jeremy - Sounds good. We will plan to pick you Cheeseheads up from the airport and take you to the hotel or bar. Let me know when you know your airline, flight # and where it is coming from when you get a chance. Rich - Gotcha. Sounds good too and sounds like fun.

watching all this with interest. I wonder how many more gauntlets Dino is going to throw down between now and May?

Gonna be a long winter, people! So, let's push thoughts of vans aside, get some team mojo going and get ready to crush this thing in May.

Joe Motz and Jeremy Behler are in!
Should be a very cool ride and group!!
FYI, camp was full but I've had two cancellations so I'm opening up two spots.
Let me know if you have any questions!

I am completely and totally pumped for this trip. Lots of friends old and new, and get to meet some of the more, ahem, notable EN personalities.
I'm coming four strong with some amigos from my new digs here in WI. Fired up!

Brace yourselves.... I will have a new bike this adventure as well!
My custom painted Calfee Dragonfly should be going to paint this week
EN Alum and WSM Trevor Garson is IN!
One slot remaining.
