Thanks @Derrek Sanks, I just interpreted it incorrectly...I am sorry I posted in the other thread, I’m new and figuring it out....I have something to strive for in the overall 3 year plan...
@Derrek Sanks thanks for the clarification on that. I have been so used to the VO2 sets at 1.2 that I just continued along with it. I'll be aiming higher next Thursday.
Open question on getting the best out of the OS. Since August, I have been working in a lot of hill climbing. 3-4 midweek rides going up and down short, steep 10%-17% grade hills. 12-15x 1'@1.5+ was pretty common.
Should I alter the OS work to compensate for the top heavy VO2 threshold I have worked myself into? Longer Sat/Sun rides are first on my agenda. Should I extend time on Tuesday's FTP intervals. I'm currently using level 2 wko's, FTP is 255.
Revolver: 10x1:00/1:00 as 270w/160w. (IF 1.2). Still experimenting, but looking like a great day to ride outside tomorrow, and with the Zwift Fondo on Sunday, I didn’t want to burn too many matches on a Friday night. Appear ready to return to the JOS plan as written next week.
Almost blew off my VO2 set as I had a late dinner party tonight. Finally got off my ass and got it done. Think I may have got the ATV figured out. Also made intervals 33 / 23 seconds to account fo the lag going from easy effort to hard. I wonder if this lets my HR "recover" too much? Didn't seem like it in the second set.
Comical zwift fail this morning trying to get a ride in (only my 3rd ride using it). Tried to do a group ride with a few friends and none of them had the zwift app to be able to add each other, then tried to join a random ride already in progress and got locked behind the start line with the message "finding other riders" for all eternity, then tried to join an EN rider to drop into the ABP ride but didn't see anyone once I got dropped onto the course. Guess I have some bugs to work out...Do you really need to have zwift open on your computer and the zwift mobile app on a phone and discord open on a different phone/ipad all at the same time to be able to ride with people? That's a lot of paraphernalia to just bike. Anyhoo, eventually I did a good warmup and then 2x15 at .95 FTP on my own, and at the end of the day getting the work in is the important part. I'm usually pretty good with technology, but any suggestions to get me over the zwift learning curve would be appreciated!
I somehow ended up on a 10-11% incline part of the course in Watopia when I got to my 30/30's... that's a wonderful way to get practice holding wattage regardless of terrain! I failed, but I tried ha ha ha!
Did 1/2 of the workout (all the way through the 1st set of 10 30/30's plus a 5 minute recovery due to time but at least I got a part of it in!
So I haven't done any VO2 workouts in prior seasons and this is my first out season. I'm curious if there is something you all look at in your training peaks to know that you are doing the VO2 wo right. Is it all by feel (ie I can just barely get through the last interval)? Or do you look for a consistent IF between the two sets of intervals? Didn't know what others are "analyzing" on their wo. I certainly feel like it is hard work. And I am meeting the goal of intervals at about 1.25FTP.
My plan for today is to get a 2-2.5 hour ride in then brick a short run. I work the next two days. So relative rest. Quads still pretty sore from mt run on Wednesday. Achilles is mildly cranky but will be ready after the ride.
I am seeing some fanstatic work being done. YOu guys are total rockstars!!!! #CPR#BEASTMODE

Carol; I just open Zwift on computer, and then listen in to Discord on my phone. Not sure why you would need the app running on another device as well. Mark

@Phil Mills - This early in the OS I'd be careful adding or extending workouts as the cumulative fatigue will catch up to you in a few weeks. If you feel like you can handle more work, try doing the Level 3 FTP and/or Sat bike workouts. Also, Coach P said you can always add volume to the Tues/Thurs workouts by riding at Z2-Z3 for the time you have available.
Today's ride was 2 hours on Zwift at .81 IF. I spent most of the time in Z3. Legs still had some fatigue from Thursday's VO2 workout and took about 20-30 mins to start feeling normal. Later I got in a 6 mile run.

@Carole Harbison I use zwift on my computer but since the keyboard is beyond my arms reach I use the mobile app to do all the interacting on zwift (ride ons, power ups, change directions). With the mobile app you don't need to memorize all the keyboard shortcuts for those functions. I use discord on my phone as well which just runs in the background as long as I have it set to voice activated (make sure sensitivity is set so background trainer noise etc doesn't get picked up for the rest of the group to hear). Computer runs zwift and phone runs discord and the mobile app.
Dang! I am out of shape. That ride Shattered my legs!!! I had sweat dripping off my chin and elbows. I will say that my power was smooth and steady. Only had time for 95 minutes. Daughters sick. Had to go play Mom for awhile.
@Carole Harbison If you can get on Discord about 10-15 min before the ride is set to start (there will be EN’ers on already), people can talk you through the Zwift join up.
Thanks @Alicia Chase, @tom box, and, @Mark Hickman and others for the comments and suggestions with riding zwift. Like anything there's a learning curve and I think this all helped me with the places I was getting stuck. Hope to (virtually) ride with you all soon!
Ok, so did the workout today. I got 2:20 minutes in. My behind was hurting pretty bad.
Have i I told you all in the past that I love EGO mode? Today it was because my Di2 battery died 15 minutes into the ride so I was stuck on third gear the whole ride. Lol, life lesson learned!
Loving the mojo & the group help going on in here, this is what a TEAM is about!! Unfortunately, or fortunately, I have no bike intervals to report, Snowmass yesterday, AJAX with a likely 4-6" of much needed POW today... it's #alcampinthewinter
Scott Dinhofer. This is the most active OS I have been in over the last 5 years. My weekend bike won't happen until later today. I have to get my youngest off to college first.
Working to get to a point where I can compete with some of you beasts. I kinda let the bike work slip this fall. I’ve been able to complete most of the bike WO’s this week and looking to add a third today. Keep setting the pace all... I’m trying to catch up!
My learning curve with Zwift. Had to purchase a power line starter kit,(wanted to hard wire the internet-was having lag time riding) extra long Ethernet cord, usb and internet port connector, new ant+ stick,10' usb/male/female cord. My router is on the first floor of the house and my bike and trainer are in the lower level.
So I tried to ride today and really like using Zwift. I had a few issues and think if I survive the learning curve it will be great.
1. computer was open with Zwift. Paired my stages crank arm and heart rate.
Selected :
Route : Figure 8
Ride Type: 2018 OS Bike Lvl2- Wk2 Sat
2. Mobile app Zwift to control using the Bluetooth connection.
3. Mobile app Discord open.
I need help with 3 issues:
1. When I switched from the Zwift app to the Discord app it would shout down the Zwift App that has the controls. Does this happen to anyone else?
2. On the mobile app the MPH, it was registering between 2 and 5 MPH. But when I looked at my bike computer it was registering the proper MPH.
Can anyone explain what I need to do so the MPH register correctly on the Zwift mobile app?
3. Connections : Connected to Garmin and Training Peaks, so my ride will upload automatically. The connect to Garmin worked like a charm and my ride uploaded instantly. Training peaks would not up load the ride. I had to down load it from the Zwift site to my computer, save it . Go to Training peaks web site and upload it manually to my calendar. I went the Zwift site for help, the only suggestion was that the internet connection could be slow.
Can any one help with this issue?
My next project will be to purchase a HDMI cord so I can share on the large screen tv instead of my surface pro computer.
Pushed yesterdays ride to today as I went heavy leg workout on Friday. Still feeling it today. Made it ththropugh the MS and then hopped off. Mental six-pack was more like a one-pack today.
Upside.....first time I dropped this much Holy Water on a trainer ride in a few years. Felt good.

Feel free to drop in on the Dec OS feed:o) Just me and Paul Hough participating week in and week out. Al and SS drop in occasionally as well.
@Yvette Metz I agree with @Scott Dinhofer, if you post this to the Zwift thread, you’ll get more eyes on it, and more expert help. Not sure what help I can give. I do know that the Zwift Mobile App and the desktop app have to be on the same WiFi channel. “In order for the app to work, your phone has to be connected on the same WiFi as your computer and logged in with the same Zwift account in order for the app to show the additional in-game ride controls.
Note: You will still be able to connect a computer that's using an Ethernet cable as long as it's going through the same router that's transmitting Wi-Fi.” You mentioned the mobile app is connected via Bluetooth. That could be the issue. I usually run three devices: the desktop app, the mobile link on my iPhone, and Discord on my iPad. Don’t know if that’s necessary, but that’s what I do. Also, it could be that Connect was glitchy and just didn’t push the upload to TrainingPeaks. Of all the sites that I use for file uploads, I find Garmin Connect to be the glitchiest of all.
