  • Team Chavez is IN for the Nov OS( 3rd year in a row!!). Me officially and Steve somewhat. He is currently not a Team EN member as he never goes on the forums or reads anything. So he will join me in most of the workouts and when I have them, I'll send you updates on how he is doing.

Most of the close friends I have in EN I met while going through the Nov OS!! We become like a family and the encouragement and accountability will absolutely get you through some tough workouts you might have otherwise skipped!!

We will be Ironman Free in 2011- first time in 12 years.

    Our 2011 A races:

April- Boston Marathon ( no specific goals, just run strong and even)

July- Vineman 70.3 ( goal is 5:0x for me( my PR there is 5:12 )and sub 4:40 for Steve)

( there will be a smattering of 5-10K's, 1/2 marathons and tons of Olympics and sprints but we will just train through those)

2011 needs to reach above goals

    Carrie- FTP 215-220 consistently, w/kg 4.3
    Vdot 52-53

    Steve- FTP - 270, w/kg 4.0
    Vdot 61-62

We look forward to training with all of you!

    Carrie and Steve

  • @Daniela - I would just go ahead and test next week, then. I can't ever do the run tests when they're assigned, because I can't do it unless I'm actually racing, so I try to find a 5K that's close enough. If it comes a week or 2 after the assigned test date, I just do the previous weeks run for the same workout, and keep my paces where they were until the race/test. For example, I''m doing a 5K on 10/30 which will be my run test. I'll replace the run test day with some sort of run.
  • Okay I'm in.  I have stated it in a couple other threads but I have yet to officially commit so here it is.  I'm coming in to my 2nd OS with the following schedule:

    Local sprint May 14, 2011

    Local Oly June 19th, 2011

    A-RACE Calgary 70.3  July 31. 2011

I will also try to get in some early season runinng races 5-10K's and thoughts to do a 1/2 marathon in mid September.  The run focus will help out my vdot and also get me down to the 180lbs area.

Goals are in my signature for accountability, but 280 watts, vdot 41, weight 200lbs which will give me w/kg of 3.1.  Hopefully I can hit the current estimates in my signature as I have not done much since August 29th.  I guess that's just more work I will have to do in the OS if I'm below those numbers.

I'm in for the Nov OS!

    • I did my first and only Half IM in a little over 5:30, so my goal is to do IM Wisconsin in less than 12:00.  I'm hoping being in the "Haus" will help me achieve that!
  • Welcome Jason,   You are going to love IMWISC.    Just a great race and great venue.    As far as reaching your goals, if you do the work as prescribed the results will be there.

If you have any questions at all, ask away.

Good to see the Nov OS getting bigger and bigger.  Won't be long now.

  • hey guys, i'm all signed up and ready to go for the nov 1 start date.  i just finished my first season of tri's - one local sprint and the nyc olympic.  i guess you could say my second season will be a wee bit more agressive.  i'm looking forward to becoming apart of the EN family and seeing what the team has in store for me.

  • Even though the days wouldn't match up, do any of you guys do local 5K races in place of ur individual during-the-week testing? JW, this is my first OS plan with EN. Thanks!
  • Lauren,

Yes there are some that do 5k race in the OS.  It's even in the plan to look for an end of OS 10K or half marathon to test the run fitness in the end.  You just have to manage the weekly workout, which the team or coach can help with.

I don't do this as I live in the Great White North and will be on a treadmill.

  • T Minus 1 week, I guess I had better start organizing and cleaning my pain cave.
  • Any suggestions on getting mentally prepared for this?

  • Prior to joining EN I did everything wrong. I prepaid for a year of master's swimming (doh!!). I signed up for a November marathon (Double Doh!!). Anybody have a bridge to sell me?? That all stops now, with the November OS. Swimming will be deprioritized. Marathon is canceled. I'm extra mad because i coulda bought a powermeter. I'm gonna take this anger out in the uncomfortable, high radon levels, of my pain cave.

Welcome to EN George!  Way to bring it home strong during the Longhorn bro!

    • Give us your race schedule for next year, identifying your A-race(s)
    • State your end of OS fitness goals, maybe even your 2011 season goals
    • Consider updating your signature to reflect goals and races above.

Jon Bergmann, Woodland Park, CO, Adv

    1.  HIM Kansas

    2.  IMWI

Goals:  To be faster.  I am new to this plan thing, but ultimately I would like to be comepetivie for a Kona slot (Male-46 yrs old)  My strength is the swim and bike is pretty good, the run has always been my nemsis.  I have done some extra work this past spring and summer and I feel like this old swimmer is finally a runner.  I did a HM iin 1:38 2 wks ago at altitude and felt really good about it.  I live and train at 8500 feet so this will add some more confusion to the whole pacing thing.

    Cheers
