I am in too. I actually found the old thread about this a few weeks ago, and looked up the program. I am on week 2 day 3 today. It looks easy on paper! I am planning on doing it on my rest days from the OS plan plus one other day. I don't know if I will make it in six weeks but hope to by the end of OS at the worst. Anything to help with my upper body and core strength for the long races will be much appreciated. I am also planning on doing the 200 situps challenge.
Same deal Tucker, I at first was going to do them all as stability ball pushups, then I was going to try and do them all with perfect pushup, both are significantly harder than plain old pushups. But since I'm vain and I want to hit 100 I'm doing them the old fashioned way, once I hit 100 I want to see if I can do it again with either of the other 2 methods, but will probably take a few more weeks.

Y'all are such guys!!! Did you see that Nemo did 85???? Nemo is a chica!!!!
We're used to getting "chicked" (or "chica'd) by Nemo, all the time!
Tooooo funny! Well for what it's worth, I'm pretty dang sore today! It's gonna be interesting to see how Day 2 of week 3 goes for me. I'll hit it on my lunch break. OUCH!
@Trevor I am with you started on the stability ball. Thinking I could get the 45 I was going to do banged out. After the 2nd set with achy arms switched to regular . 1 day down I guess it will be a long/slow buildup to 100
Yeah, I was still a little sore today from Monday. Crunched out 102 total, but I think I'm with Nemo...my arms/shoulders hurt more now than they did after Monday's set. We'll see how this goes. 100 in 15 minutes (or whatever it was) was hard enough. 100 straight will/would be quite an accomplishment.
So, when I do my push ups, I'm determined not to do the girlie ones but I can't go all the way nose to the floor. Is that ok? I work on going lower with the shorter sets (ok...2) but as far as getting all the way down, I wouldn't be able to get back up. Advice?
@Carly - Sounds like you need to be doing the 1,000 Push Up Challenge. Holy cow. Nice work!
I banged out Week 1, Day 3 and it was all I could do to get the requirements done. I was laughing as I was laying on the ground, unable to get up briefly, at the thought of trying to do 146.
I simply cannot post where I'm at. Can't. I'm working on it, and doing them "perfectly." Can't blame it all on the sternum injury. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
If you met Carly, you would know why she can hammer out 146 of those suckers. The girl is lean and STRONG.
If your last set was 50, how many was that in total??? YIKES! I squeezed out the required "minimum of 28" in the last set today. Didn't think I'd be able to, but I did. Whew!
Like others, I started on Week 3. Week 3 Day 3 just about killed me! Didn't think I had a chance of making those last 28, but did, just hitting the 120 total. Don't think there was more than 1 or 2 even possible left. Hope a couple days off make next round easier on MOnday!
Did what seemed to be some pretty innocent stuff at my Core class yesterday and I will be waiting on doing Week 1 Day 3 till tomorrow....pretty sore today.
I'll play. I tested today, got 60 with good form so we'll stop there. And only had 2 of my 3 kids on my back, so may have to retest when the other gets home from his date.
Week 4 started today. I made it through the first 4 sets ok, but that last "Max" set was a bust- I couldn't quite make the "at leaste" number. Missed it by 2 pushups
I too collapsed 2-short of the last set of "at least 32" on the week 4, day 1. I let another minute go by and did a penance of an additional 10. This may take a while....

By the way, what are you folks doing during the 60-90 min rest? I've been either sitting in "childs pose" or on my back with my arms stretched overhead to give my shoulders and chest a little stretch. I'm not sure this makes sense, but the only other alternative I can come up with is collapsing on the floor in a pool of drool!
Much more prosaic here... I tend to do it right before lunch in my office, so I'm just closing the door... doing the pushups, picking up some pens or papers, doing some more pushups, going next door to the fridge to get my lunch, doing the pushups, feeding the fish.... you get the picture. :-)
Have no fear, you aren't alone. I got pummeled by week 4 day 3, the max set is "At least 40". I did the 2 minutes rest, got down, made it to about 15 before my arms started to wobble. I said, ok, this isn't going to work. Got up, did some other work for about 10 minutes then had a fresh crack at it. Hit the 40 that time, but it was definitely no picinic. I gave it a minute or two of rest, then did another set to exhaustaion, probably less than 20 I think soon after as somewhat punishment for requiring so long of a break to do the 40.

No Joke!! I'm a little sore today, but not bad. It will be interesting to see how I feel when it's time to do day 2 tomorrow!

146 pushups at 6 AM. I find it's better to get them done before you are awake and can contemplate the hurting.

Last set this AM of 50 in a row. 100 still seems VERY far off.

Started week 3 today. Made it through OK but no kids on my back.

This definitely is not going to be a cakewalk.
