Kitima - your description of what happens to your clothes at work made me laugh. I'm sorry. I know it's not funny; it's reality. But it is funny. At least coming from you it is!
LOVE the quilt Beth!! Very artful. I love the architectural quality to it. I'll have to see if I can take some pics of my stuff. You have to promise to remember that it has been 20 years since I last held a paint brush!!! I'll try to get that done on Friday. We'll have to try to work something out to at least MEET in person when you're that close.
Linda it is great to hear that WF made it right with that Turkey fiasco. Wow! Incredible. It really must have been nice to not have all of that prep and CLEAN UP!
Good work on 30/30s Oct OS gals! I can't believe we're already at week 9. That means I'm dangerously close to 20 weeks out from IMSG. Whoa Nellie! That can't be...I think i need to count again!
Glad you got rest Tracy! It is so hard sometimes to sleep with the coughing! During my sickness in October I spent many an hour siting on the couch in the middle of the night wishing the cough away and trying all sorts of syrups, teas, milk, etc. Ugh! It stinks!
M - Hope your husband is better soon. That sounds really scary. I get spooked with stuff around the head, like that, since a friend of mine that is just a couple of years older than me had a stroke in April. Really unexpected! She's recovering, has all of her speech back, is walking with a cane again, but still has some whacky dizziness and vertigo. I'm sure there's no real similarity to what your H has and what she went through, but it I'm all freaked about stuff like that now.

Today I am wearing real clothes: the kind with buttons, not made of technical/wicking/stretchy fabrics. I typically wear scrubs to work because at least once a week I get blood/pus/pee/poo/bile/nasty toenail on my clothes. Not today because it's the Medical Staff Christmas Party and Quarterly Meeting at a nice restaurant. I'd rather go home and ride my 2 x 12's, but in order to not be fined for not attending these meetings I must go...and wear real clothes. Yep, I'm a whiny toad about such a small thing so I guess I'll just be grateful for the 364 other days of the year that I don't have to wear real clothes!
That is so funny I also get the blood/pus/pee/poo/bile/nasty toenail on my clothes but it is from dogs and not people , No offense - but I'll take the dogs!! My Dad is a Doc too - I don't know how you all do it, but I am VERY grateful that you do
As long as I am on the restaurant thing - Oliva - go to Louie's Back Porch while you are in Key West. Fabulous food and beautiful view.
Linda - that whole turkey dilema sounds like a big PITA, but so nice that they did right and got you all fixed up for TG day.
Carrie so so so glad and relieved for you! God truly can handle it all and gives us the strength to get through whatever it is - you are a great testimony to that - way to keep the faith!
Dern - time to go get the kiddos ready for school already - have a great day everyone!
PS - Beth need to talk quilts w/ you sometime - my Mom is so into that - BIG TIME. I just needlepoint though.
husband still sick and raining all day today and cool. taking another rest day probably for me. on my TO DO though::.......
I have three functions next week to attend, work related to DH so need some non dry fit clothes with a bit of holiday sparkle! so I need to go out and shop.. shoes, jewelry all of that jazz. nails done, etc. we have this going every year don't we girls??? you would think I would have something by now. When I first joined EN in 2007??? those oufits are too big and had to part with them last year.... and need to try on last year's stuff. but I think one of those was too big too. so I guess I should not be looking at Voler sales right now!! tri shorts, sample and cycling stuff all on sale!!
okay going to do some housework, and make more coffee, you woulda been proud of me as I didn't run this morning, nope, twinging is better but still there in hamstring! but it takes more caffeine to make this engine work!! okay new but old song: Hosanna by Hillsong!
welcome back to M. from vacation!!! won a 5k??? okay just shoot us some pics in here....(okay I gotta go, every time I use punctuation it changes fonts on me and size so I can't articulate anymore!!!! smile
I'm also a member of the "blood/pus/pee/poo/bile/nasty toenail on my clothes" club, and I will up the ante with anal sac fluid; some of the most foul-smelling, deodorizing-resistant stuff on earth. Robin, I'm sure you can relate. I spent an hour on Monday disimpacting a constipated cat and, unbeknownst to me, my glove got a hole in it. My finger smelled like poop the entire rest of the day despite repeated scrubbings.
It's getting cold here in Texas, and it may even snow on Friday. Unfortunately, my boss, a generous yet thrifty man, refuses to heat the bulk of the clinic all winter long. I'm wearing a turtleneck sweater under my scrubs, and a running jacket on top, which will be replaced by a white coat when I see clients. By Friday I will have added thermal pants and a top. I'm going to Target at lunch today to pick up a little portable heater for my desk. Brr!
Kristen...I'm shivering just listening. No snow in Minnesota yet. The Christmas ya'll got snow...we didn't weird. I called my brother and the kids weren't even interested in presents....just going out to play in the snow. What a fun memory for them!
Hey...chickas...I'm going out for my run...I programmed the workout into my Garmy but I don't know how to change the name of the workout....any thoughts? I do all this in the Garmin Workout Center...
Thanks! Have a wonderful day everyone. I just applied for an extension on my unemployment which really sticks in my crawl.... the first round I didn't feel bad about, it's the money the layoff company paid in for the privilege of laying off 20% of it's workforce but now with the extension, I'm feeling like I'm living on the taxpayer dime so send a little of that mojo my way while I ratchet up the job search in earnest.....thanks! (I hate to admit that I am enjoying my time off though....)
We returned from Palau about 2 days ago. While there, I managed to NOT get the head cold afflicting everyone else. (I did however get food poisoning from some under cooked eggs- but I am getting ahead of myself). Every return flight featured lots of coughing/sneezing sick folks. By the time we hit the front door, I knew I was sick. So way jetlagged and trying to get over this junk. This is my first day on the forum. I have read all of this thread to get up to date. Some thoughts...
1. 4.0 version does not always respond and I had to go back and forth to move to the next page. What is up with that?
2. Baseline font needs to be bigger. I don't have eye problems, but I will if this doesn't get bigger!
3. Why don't we get links to videos instead of having to cut and paste to see what someone has posted?
I know, I should address with RnP, but thought I'd whine a bit as I feel sick.
Got up to get a drink and felt like my head was going to float away, although I haven't taken any cold meds since 11 pm last night.
Some general stuff- love the doggie pics and stories. Totally miss having a furry friend, but I know that being at work all day is not compatible with new doggie happiness.
Congrats to all that completed IMFL and IMAZ. I will someday get to read your reports.
Carrie- So glad all turned out well for you. Very scary. Good luck with Steve's mom.
Can't think straight right now. Will be back soon.
EDIT- ha ha look at my sig line. It is supposed to be the cowgirl camp thingy. I'll fix later
Hello Chickas, first time posting in this thread! Fun to read the posts. Carrie so glad all came out well for you. Had the same scare around 10 years ago! When those tests come back negative, it is a relief like none other.
Just returned from my run on the treadmill. Good to have that done, checking the forum, and on to my next job of the day, home educating my 11 and 15 year olds. Actually my 15 year old learns very independently, which is supper nice for me! Then, picking up my 16 year old from school, dropping him off at work, and Josh my 15 year old at swim practice....oh and what is for supper one never knows around here!! Arg, I hate cooking!
oh no we are all having forum problems!!! poor RnP.
out the door to take Joe for a CT scan to rule out neurological. he has a bit of humor and has eaten a bit too.. so I can tell he is better but is still in bed... this is his third day and I know he is anxious about his work. vertigo when opening his eyes and moving about, ear pain, head ache and had nausea earlier... he is on three kinds of meds so of course is sleepy and doped up! poor guy. He has done the Turkey Purge Diet and I finished off the last of the fugde this morning.....
during my stay at home, I have cleaned off my desk!! and about tackle laundry room! I have a pile of clothing and washed running shoes ready to take with me to mission trip to Guatmemala and it is now overflowing, summer clothes outgrown and trinkets of toys. and I am caught up on my laundry!!! nope not ironed, but only three loads are currently going!!!!!
mother in law coming over to help out and dinner in crock pot so all is good, well except for sick hubby, and me not doing any training!!! I am taking a rest week!! and feel pretty good about it as the pain in hammie is better than yesterday!!! this time at the docs have packed camera to figure it out, not my little one but my big Nikon, digital. and some snacks as yesterday 2.5 hour stint there made me bonky!!
okay girls, I loved the Palau stories, and dog and vet and doc stories. and again thankful for good test results for Carrie and other chicks that haven't posted about them.....
Hey Kathy! This is where the action is, and this one is the "mother" thread. Topics go everywhere and anywhere. The whole EN site is now so big and overwhelming, we can easily keep track of the chickas here. Just join in!
m--I hope Joe gets better soon. Keep us posted. That vertigo can be rough. Is it a virus that causes it? Nothing worse than a sick husband. Unless it's sick boy children.
Ran 6.5 today with the intervals. Did OK. Felt winded more than usual, but some days are like that. Gorgeous day here, so in between drafts of my newsletter layout, I got a lot of fun outdoor time with doggie. Supposed to pour buckets here tomorrow.
Can someone please help me stop eating sweets? Same old song and dance every day. This summer, I dropped these pesky 5 lbs in like no time just cutting out the sweets. These days, I can't keep my mitts out of the Trader Joes Candy Cane Joe-Joes. They are evil. I guess I just don't want it bad enough yet. It's all a mental game, and my game is not in gear in the get-lean department.
Have to go scrounge up din-din. Think it's sammie night. I got nuthin' in the cooking department today.
okay so we had the CT, and you know you wait for all of that.... and Joe feeling quite ill sitting in a wheelchair!! too dizzy to walk in..cold and rainy while I park the car and run back in!! and they see small spot on the brain!! we see doc, wait for him, in a cold office! what is up with the cold medical facilities??!! and now no mags due to H1N1!! but this time I brought something and my camera to figure out... so then we go get MRI, more waiting and then in, and good news, "his brain is normal!" and by then he had a bit of humor, had some Sbux coffee that I had driven over to get and a blueberry muffin and tangerine... I doped him up for the car drive home and my mother in law was home putting the finishing touches on my dinner.... I had underestimated my calories, as I had packed for the CT and doc visit so I was bonky, and had a headache but realized that I hadn't drank enough so on car drive home I drank 16oz water bottle and popped two motrin!!! and ate a nice dinner with family ..... so another 5 hours spent at the docs! but all is well. Jokes of medical staff needing a christmas bonus as we have just shelled out of pocket money!!! I am still chilled and about to put on comfy flannel pjs with some sort of race tee!! and take off what little makeup I have on!!!
okay so I just highlighted the above to change back the font and to no avail.... okay I think what Joe and I learned....
we have so much more respect and admiration for those who are terminally ill ( and I think of my sister in law with cancer for 2 years!! who died last October), both the person who is ill and the caretaker! people who are nauseous and vomiting?? well Joe said he has so much more admiration for how they do that /// like chemo patients!!! and I know some of you are "survivors" so our hats are off to you!!! he has only been sick three days of no reading, no tv, bedridden, no work, sick, dizzy, no appetite and sleeping and they have surmised inner ear infection probably viral!!! so as we enter the Christmas season, a bit poorer$$ but a new appreciation for health.
I know some of you are recuperating right now and when you get so low that you are hugging a toilet!!! it brings the simple things of life in perspective!! I hope you are feeling better and on the mend!!
m, here's to singing Amen and Hallelujah that his brain is NORMAL!!!! OMG, m, the spot thing was unbelievable. What. A. Day! Glad you know he'll just have to wait it out. Sounds miserable for sure. Makes you realize, the $$$$ is the least of it, huh? Really glad he's OK.
I think I'll join m in some flannel right now. I could use a good dose of boob tube too.
But, yay! Ryan missed Tday, but he and GF are coming for Xmas. AND, just today, he got a new job at the mental health facility he works at called Spring Lake Ranch. It's a therapeutic work community for the mentally ill and those with substance abuse issues--often dual diagnoses. The Ranch is the intermediate step between instiution and group home. Come March he will take over management of the Work Program. He'll be in charge of all the farming, animals, budgets, etc., but with the twist of working with the psychiatrists and counselors on making it all fit into the therapeutic model. He finds it incredibly demanding to work with the chronically ill, but it combines his passion for sustainability and psychology. Kind of amazing in this economy that he got something so perfect for his phase of life (he's 23). Very happy for him. Free 2-bedroom house to boot! Not my cup of tea, but he's is thrilled. Nice to get some good news!
Kristen - you win on the bodily fluids thing! I draw the line at anal sacs and send em to the vet for that and cat poo, well that is just some REALLY nasty stuff! ewwwwww......
M - sorry you and DH are having such a rough go of it, but so glad that you are looking at the whole situation and seeing how blessed you are. Like Linda said the $$$$ don't really matter when you are thinking of life threatening kinda stuff. I hope you can get out soon and get a workout in.
Glad you are back safely Michele - can't wait to hear all about it and see pix too!
Kathy - good to have you in the mix. I wish I had the gumption to home school my kids - problem is they are way smarter than me!
Gotta go get my pilates stuff done. Day off for me from workouts I start the week on Monday so I am doing the day off that most do on Friday today. Going to go copy M's taco soup recipe and make that for dinner tomorrow night!
M-what a huge relief for you all! So glad your husband is going to be OK. Definitely puts things into perspective! Phew!
Robin - YES on Louie's Backyard in KW!! Love that place. We actually got married down in KW and very much enjoyed Louie's so we will definitely be back. Also love Seven Fish and Cafe Marquesa! Yippee! We leave on Saturday!
Michele - Welcome home! Sorry you are a little under the weather, and major bummer that you got ill while you were gone. That is awful. All one ever wants during that stuff is to be in one's own bed and bathroom.
All of you with your poo and pus stories - ICK!! You have fun with that, mmmm-kay?
Ryan's job sounds really cool, Linda. It really is great for him at 23 to be in a place that is suited to him. Best of luck to him as he gets his feet on the ground in the newest role.
I ate a whole pile of french fries yesterday at lunch. I loved every last one of them!! De-lish and no regrets!!!
yep the vet gig didn't sound so appealing after reading that!!! ugh. soup: mother in law said good, one son said too many beans and the other son said good! I am hoping today to go swim, or ride bikes at gym or something like that!! going to give running legs another day off as I can feel that getting better!!! four rest days!! but I can now bend over to unload D/W without pain in hammie. today sunny and cold but I bet a good running day!! blue skies too. okay nothing new here, thank goodness so signing off!! m
Marianne, I am glad that the tests all turned out good for you both. I have to tell you that about a year ago, my neighbor (who practically raised my kids when I was going through treatment) was at the house and I said in front of her and my husband, "Yeah, but I wasn't that sick." My husband spit out the fluid in his mouth and looked at me and said, "Are you kidding?" I realized that it was similar to childbirth...as much as I puked and all the other unpleasant things, I only have a vague memory of it all, so it all turns out ok. I'm working on my 9th year of survival so I'm glad your husband is ok....
Kathy,.....glad you are here!
OK...why did Trader Joe's get mentioned??? Now I want to drive into the cities to get my annual tin of caramel wafers. Last year it was like a scene from Cabbage Patch in the 80's. There were only two tins left and another woman and I went for them at the same time....I was there first and asked how bout we each take one and can you believe she told me, no that she wanted them both????? I was so stunned that I handed them both to her. It wasn't that I was so nice or anything because I'm certainly not a nice person (just ask my 17 year old) but I was shocked the selfishness...then she didn't even say thank you. Anyway...gotta go gettem. They are so wonderful!!!!
Gals, the run yesterday was more than awful. I bonked about 20 minutes in and since it was a short cut to my house I took it. I didn't eat in the morning and had nothing to run on. I'm gonna try it again this morning, bike late this afternoon after the pork roast is in the oven (any ideas there?) and hopefully it goes a little better....I hate bonking...
Thanks for all the welcomes! This is a nice place to be I am not very good at multi-tasking, so it has taken some effort on my part to go between the nov os and the forums! I can easily be overwhelmed with lots of information! And most of the time I don't feel like I have much to say....you CHICKAS talk a lot
Robin, yeah I know what you mean, my ninth grader is for sure smarter than me! Like I said, he pretty much teaches himself. Joseph, my sixth grader, would like to teach ME a thing or two! I hate it when boys go from really loving mom and needing her a ton, to I am independent now and don't really need you!!I can see that at 20, but really at 11????Any one else experience this with boys? or girls for that matter?
Michele! You sound gawd awful. What a bummer! Rest up and get well. In the meantime, PLEASE, a million times PLEASE contact RnP about your 4.0 issues--esp the font. I can't stand it either, and don't read stuff because of it. Can't slog through the jumble. I hate this new forum immensely. But I did not say that!
Michele: Welcome back! Can't wait to hear your adventure stories--but first, get better. Sucks to be sick coming back from vaca cuz I'm sure work/life is just chomping at the bit to catch up with you.
Kathy: Welcome! Yeah, there's a alot of chit-chat here. You should see us try to agree on a color and logo for the EN Chica IMMoo visor.
Marianne: So relieved to hear your hubby is okay. Let just say that taking care of a sick family member is no rest day. I'm not sure how to calculate those TSS, but it's work for sure. Hope he's getting better quickly.
Linda: Cool job for Ryan! You're right: at 22 years old, I would've love that job. Now at 41, not so much.
Kristen: Disimpacting a cat and stinking up your fingers is definitely one way to get out of making dinner. The nights that I'm called in to remove foreign bodies (typically a sex toy or bottle of lotion) from someone's rectum (Eeeuuw! I know!!) the DH says,"Uh...you don't have to bother making dinner tonight honey." It's not like I'm using bare hands!
I think the training and "trying to improve body composition" campaign have collided. I am sooo hungry all the time; and I eat every 2-3 hours. Ugh. Must get back on track with keeping a food diary and eating lower glycemic index carbs throughout the day. Oh yeah, and the weight loss is at a stand still.
Michele -- I got your PM, but don't know how to reply -- but I have your address and cowgirl mojo is coming your way.
I blew up intervals this morning to the point of tears. Lesson learned: I can't work and suffer while there is another human being in the room not suffering, ie. studying for his property exam. My interval-doing self is a mean, nasty alpha-monkey b**ch so I can get things done. Suffering isn't easy. I soo shouldn't talk to other people. These are the mornings I need a very healthy supply of SAUs in the bank because I took out a seriously large deduction today. And Mac? Was super-nice and understanding. This is one of the many reasons I adore this man.
I am going through today with unfinished business on my conscience. Those intervals -- they are MINE after work and I am just passing time until I get to them.
Do we need to give this haus a haus-warming? I feel like I've lost people. Maybe we need to infuse it with mojo. . . .
Super busy work week so have been reading along but not much time to post. T-2 days till marathon in Memphis this weekend. Loving sleeping in (aka taper). Weather is kinda dreary but temps are still great for running. Have read Born to Run (great read- highly recommend) and actually bought a pair of five fingers last month. Have just been wearing them around the house to get used to as didn't want to introduce them during marathon training. I have gone from clunker shoes with custom ortho's 6 yrs ago to running in Zoot and Brooks racers. I have slowly migrated to the lighter shoes and worked hard on form and strengthening my core along the way. Ran IMLOU marathon in Zoot racers & had little problem. Have used the light weight shoes on all runs under 8 miles and especially on speedwork days. Wearing alittle heavier a shoe for the long runs and marathon- Brook Launch and Mizuno Precisions. The important thing to keep in mind is A- any change needs to be minor and introduced slowly B- work, work work on the form- video tape is awesome feedback even if you can just go to the track and have a friend tape you. C- I do believe that our feet have become weak with all the built up shoes and those weaknesses and imbalances have to be part of your training/addressed in order to move toward lighter shoes. Am deliberating now about taking the Chi running clinic (it's 12/13 and way too close to Christmas for comfort $wise).
Did manage to snag a hotel room for marathon (yah!) Michele- hope you feel well soon and looking forward to all the incredible pics and story. Hope the black screen of death is gone from your computer & it is feeling better too!
M & Carrie- again amazing by the mental & physcial strength of you EN chickas. So glad you both got some good news and road to recovery is quick for all.
To all you EN chickas with GROSS fluids going on... thanks for reminding me why I would never last a second in health care. I lack that kind of understanding and empathy. And I thought my kids dirty diapers were bad!!
Will try to check in from the marathon- maybe even some pics. Looking forward to some well deserved down time- which seems to be filling up with holiday what-nots quickly! And you know what.... Nemo will be home next week so we'll have NZ and island pics both to look forward too!
"My interval-doing self is a mean, nasty alpha-monkey b**ch so I can get things done."
Beth- that is hilarious... definitely deserving of a worthy avatar!! Great visual! Hang in there- we know those intervals are marked for going down! My OS will be here all too soon.... I'm not sure my bike will forgive me for ignoring these past 3 mons.... omg, what if I've forgotten how to ride???
Kitima - you just made me really glad that animals don't insert items in their own rectums. Are you able to make small talk with these patients while doing what you need to do? How awkward... On a similar note, I do have one small dog patient that used to consistently swallow her owner's used tampons, and then we sort of had to pull it out the back once it made it's way through the GI tract. This dog came in three months in a row with the same problem.
Beth, you sound ready to crush those intervals tonight!
Kris, best of luck on your marathon. You are ready!
hey girls, okay we are a bunch of nutty women with some hilarious jobs!! I thought mothering had some funny tales but the doctoring might have me beat!!! ugh.
yes the first ten years, the sons are the most adorable loving "mama's boys" and then puberty hits!!! and if you can find sports to let out that aggression rather than it be you, all the better. I say the first ten years are the Moms and then 2nd ten years are the Dad's. if they have a sports game, they wanna know if Dad is coming.. when they want money, cars of $$ phones = Dad!! but I am telling you, they can be mean if hungry, sleepy or had a rough practice!!! They don't talk or converse except for odd times and when that happens, drop everything and listen in!! my running mentor told me when dealing with sons "don't take it personally" and that has been sage advice. Then, they sorta come outta it and become men that you are pretty proud of and sit by you in church (again!).. you are able to hug them again, feel their soft hair, tell them they are handsome and that you love them and they don't grimace or pull away!!! sure, you gotta share 'em with a GF, but actually when they get a GF, they treat sister and Mom just a bit better! I have four sons and each is different,,,
okay changing back the font ..... good luck at marathon!! I have done that one twice and I wrote in old forum about it, but there will be emotional times as it is a fundraiser for St Jude's hospital so people will have children's pics on their back of whom they are running for and parents are spectators with posters of their kids who you are raising money for!..... it made me cry especially in those latter miles. There is a cant on the road and you have to decide to run it high along the orange cones or in the ditch, you will know when you see it!! so be careful there with any IT problems... slight downhill in beginning of race making it easy to go out too fast.. so warning on that. and although touted as flat, it does have have some hills and your legs will be telling you so!! the finish is nice though on the track downtown, so nice crowd appeal but you think you are done but need to make that one lap around so mentally give it all you got and you will feel like the Olympic arena!! glad you got a hotel Kris.
yes husband is recuperating and slower than he would like, he was up about two hours a ta time doing computer work but had to go back and lay down...
heading out the door for gymnastics so didn't say to everybody but thinking of you!! m
I am back to restaurants again - as you get to know me better this will be a common theme. I LOVE good restaurants! I LOVE to eat! and I used to LOVE to cook - I am hoping that LOVE will return someday. It's not that I don't love to cook anymore as much as I just hate to plan the menus and do the grocery shopping.
Beth - No haven't been to Carlos' Restaurant, but will definintely keep that in mind for the next trip up that way because I am an unabashed carnivore extraordinaire! I did eat at a great little Bistro in Evanston the last time I was there when I visited my friend. I wish I could remember the name, but I am sure you know it. Ate at a nice table out on the side walk and it was VERY good!
Olivia - woops - said back porch meant back yard. I want a full food report when you return!! Where are you staying? We stayed on Sunset Key - it was an awesome spot.
Ok - Kit - YOU WIN!!! That is just more than I could ever handle - and I thought that the dog that came to board and had trouble pooping out the owner's underpants that it had consumed was bad!
All the talk of the boys growing up has me a little sad because I already see some of that in my 9 year old. I AM NOT READY! Luckily my 8 year old loves to snuggle still and the three of us pile in the bed at night to read together before bed. Oh that will be a terrible day in my life when that ends!
Robin -- Did you eat at Quince? It is on the first floor of a b&b.
Kris - Your bike will surely forgive you. That's why there's that phrase about riding a bike, right?
Marianne - Good to know about boys! I will keep that in mind if I ever have one.
Intervals - Done. As well as possible. I'm getting a head start on day of rest and have rice-filled heating pads out to soothe the sore muscles. Rest rocks.

M- hope DH feels better soon! Hopefully drugs will help.
My narcotic cough syrup helped me get some much needed sleep last night. Can take a deep breath better today without coughing.
LOVE the quilt Beth!! Very artful. I love the architectural quality to it. I'll have to see if I can take some pics of my stuff.
Brr!
very funny!!! cold here too. yuck. m
Ladies- you are one busy group!
Have a supa day everyone
oh no we are all having forum problems!!! poor RnP.
out the door to take Joe for a CT scan to rule out neurological. he has a bit of humor and has eaten a bit too.. so I can tell he is better but is still in bed... this is his third day and I know he is anxious about his work. vertigo when opening his eyes and moving about, ear pain, head ache and had nausea earlier... he is on three kinds of meds so of course is sleepy and doped up!
I am taking a rest week!! and feel pretty good about it as the pain in hammie is better than yesterday!!! this time at the docs have packed camera to figure it out, not my little one but my big Nikon, digital. and some snacks as yesterday 2.5 hour stint there made me bonky!!
okay girls, I loved the Palau stories, and dog and vet and doc stories. and again thankful for good test results for Carrie and other chicks that haven't posted about them.....
m
I got nuthin' in the cooking department today.
girls back home and yes Linda pegged it.....
okay so we had the CT, and you know you wait for all of that.... and Joe feeling quite ill sitting in a wheelchair!! too dizzy to walk in..cold and rainy while I park the car and run back in!! and they see small spot on the brain!! we see doc, wait for him, in a cold office! what is up with the cold medical facilities??!! and now no mags due to H1N1!! but this time I brought something and my camera to figure out... so then we go get MRI, more waiting and then in, and good news, "his brain is normal!" and by then he had a bit of humor, had some Sbux coffee that I had driven over to get and a blueberry muffin and tangerine...
I hope you are feeling better and on the mend!!
m
m, here's to singing Amen and Hallelujah that his brain is NORMAL!!!!
Marianne - so glad your husband is ok! His symptoms sound terrible. I hope he gets to feeling better soon!
Linda - Ryan's new job sounds incredible challenging but quite rewarding and amazing. Good for him!
I am hoping today to go swim, or ride bikes at gym or something like that!! going to give running legs another day off as I can feel that getting better!!! four rest days!! but I can now bend over to unload D/W without pain in hammie. today sunny and cold but I bet a good running day!! blue skies too. okay nothing new here, thank goodness so signing off!! m
Michele, sorry you were so sick. That is rough.
Have a great day all!
Good morning ladies,
Thanks for all the welcomes!
I hate it when boys go from really loving mom and needing her a ton, to I am independent now and don't really need you!! I can see that at 20, but really at 11???? Any one else experience this with boys? or girls for that matter?
OK, nuff said.....off to band practice.
Kris - where is the Chi Running clinic 12/13? I would love to go to one at some point.
Good luck Kris and have a great time!
Rest rocks.
Chi clinic is at EP Tom Sawyer park 12/13. http://www.nextlevelmultisports.com/chirunning.html
Maurice has been here several time and those who have taken this course have highly recommended.
