  • catching up on this thread and whoever said it earlier is spot on- you gals have been busy!!

re: gross fluids- yup, gross, but can relate (unfortunately...)

Michele- yay! you're home. sorry to hear that you're sick though. looking forward to some pics when you're feeling better (I have to vacation through others!)

m- yikes on the vertigo for your hubby. glad to hear he's starting the slow road back.

    kris- good luck this weekend!!

LP- very cool job for Ryan. definitely tough work, but incredibly rewarding.

On this front- big weekend for the clinic coming up which has made the last 2-3 weeks nutty. we hold a big breakfast locally in town for our patients. part of it's goal is to celebrate the come backs and achievements so we give out a bunch of awards (anything from patient of the year, to best injury story, etc) and invite all of the local doc's and orthopedics (well...the ones we can actually get to show up on a Saturday morning!). then we serve up a big brunch and bring in 2-3 comedians (part of our view that the holidays should be light and fun versus a steady source of stress like it can be). the second part of the day is that it's the final push for our food drive (we have a very active food pantry in town that we support every year). all in all, it always turns out to be a fun morning with 200+ in attendance and hopefully over 5k in food and donations. You'd think after 5 years, we'd be better on the admin front instead of the mad dash.

  • M-yeah, you are spot on!  One of my regrets with my oldest is the GF issue!  Wish I had dealt with that differently, ah well live and learn.

So, little time to respond to everyone, have a productive Friday everyone

  • I'm crying with laughter thanks to Kitima's last post!!!
  • Kris and Leigh: Good luck this weekend on your races! I'm so impressed with how much work you've both done and how supa fast you both are.

Beth: I hope your ride went well last night. Mean, nasty, alpha-monkey bee--atch...that's hysterical! The DH has called me an antisocial, taciturn, pedalling zombie when I'm on the trainer.

Kristin: There's really not much conversation in that kind of situation. I think the patients can tell I've heard,"I don't know what happened...I just fell on it!" too many times.

Robin: I'm with you on the foodie thing: absolutely love and live for great food. I went to Paris 3 years ago and almost exploded in gastronomic joy. It's a good thing I don't live near any amazing restaurants or my watts/kg would be <0.1!</span>

  • finishing up the last of the taco bean soup, at 10 a.m. but tastes good even four days later!  back to what to do with pork tenderloin, we had one wed night and you know I am crockpot queen, so I put in an already seasoned Mesquite bbq pork tenderloin and put on low but also added in a can of cream of mushroom soup which made for a nice gravy and served with new small potatoes, boiled with a tad bit of butter, canned corn, leftover cornbread with whipped honey and pan fried apple slices that mo in law made and microwaved in bag broccoli.  Last night?  bbq chicken legs out on the grill cooked and turned by 3 sons!!  so a bit burnt on edges but tasty!  with buttermilk biscuits out of the can! and salad and canned new baby peas.  I am into tasty but easy!  today.... okay girls the turkeys are all on sale, so bought the smallest 12 lb one and cooking turkey in an oven bag in a big dish in oven, with crock pot sweet potatoes (wrap them in foil and put on low in crockpot), and more canned vegs like creamed corn and "field peas", with simple boxed stuffing and gravy.... moving on tomorrow?  rib eye steaks caught on sale with baked potatoes.  okay here is what I have found after years of cooking..... years I tell ya!!  for me?  make up my mind by 10 a.m. on "what's for dinner?" and many years ago listening to a dietician talk to a group of mothers.... "don't worry about what it is, your family just wants something!"  so KISS work for family dinners too.    Sunday:  eating out for lunch and that night normally catch as catch can = grilled cheese, breakfast, etc.  I am trying to eat red meat to up my iron remember so like this week 2 x week.

then from recent Shape magazine that I have previously mentioned a "duh" moment:  an interview on back page of real person and when she fixes her kids sack lunches she makes herself one too... and yes I was but on the go during the holidays??  I am not gonna worry if it is on white bread!  just having food in my car cooler will prevent bonking!  yesterday I had a honey/PB sandwich on my way into pool and it tasted so yummy!  and today?  I think a Nutella/PB sandwich and a tangerine and water something like that.  I guess my point is, you know you are gonna be in your car, so pack yourself something!!

girls I am out the door cuz son forgot a notebook and needs it at school. but hey he picked up son from bball practice last night so symbiotic relationship here!!    this is my 2nd day of no pain in leg/butt so taking another rest day to seal the deal.. making this one of my longest no running breaks.....  so I am going out to the shops to figure out what to wear to three upcoming parties........  wish me luck.  talk at ya later Gator... m

  • Foodie ladies: It is, indeed, tough living near so many good restaurants. I think the only way I'm normal-sized is being able to cook and living with a very good cook who loves his gram scale -- and lentils. I am joyously envisioning how well we are going to eat during Cowgirl Camp this summer. Love it is being held in a foodie town.

Day of rest mission: Buy new toenail polish. Which reminds me,

Number 22 on the how you know you are a triathlete list:

You keep a bottle of Deborah Lipmann's Bitch's Brew nail polish around because it is matches black toenails.

  • Beth, you crack me up   You don't actually wear black nail polish do you???  My boys would definitely say you are EMO (that is if you do)....what ever that means!!  Kids these days I tell ya.........

So, this past Monday I send my pt back to Saris and got it back today!!!  It is FRiday morning!  Yeah for Saris, yeah for me  Amazing how addicted to power one can become in only 4 weeks.  Keep your fingers crossed t hat it actually works!  It will be interesting to see how a pt works that really works

  • Kathy, dark maroon, actually. And I had my toes painted that color almost all summer to disguise my black toenail so I could still wear open-toed shoes.

And hooray for the return of power!

  •  Kris- have a great marathon this weekend! We'll be thinking of you. Oh and your bike will be cool with you coming back. Your WhoWho on the other hand, may need some convincing.........

    Kathy= welcome aboard!

M-Glad DH is feeing better, good news on the brain scans! Hope that hamie is better soon

Leigh- what a great thing your clinic is doing!  Have a fun time!

Olivia- Have a great time in Key West !

Linda- I say be kind to yourself with the candy/sweets. You have proven to yourself you can focus and get the job done when you need to. You'll be on track again.

I am finally pretty focused with my eating- of all times The Holidays. i hope i can hold on when more and more goodies appear at work. So far so good.

I am also part of the "blood/pus/pee/poo/bile/nasty toenail on my clothes"  club. Add to that the resistant bacteria- I feel like I have cooties all the time at work. I wear Pink scrubs! Our warmup jackets are green, Yellow isolation gowns. Who chose the colors? I picked up some hot Pink CEP compression socks to wear to work.  Feel like something out of the preppy handbook. All I need now are docksiders and a purse with wooden handbags ( my life back in the 80s). I'll try to get some pics/video of my color ensemble this weekend.Oh and the sizing of the scrubs- very varied, you could change 3x in am to get a pair to fit right- so i went to the next bigger size- the top is down to my knees, and some day the pants are going to fall down while pushing the bed

Beth- Good job on getting back to those intervals, way to get it done. I had to cut mine short after my cold- I was just not recovering. Last night went better

Hope everyone has a great weekend

  • I check in here, and the next thing you know I'm reading about pulling sundry items out of anuses--animal and human! Well, y'all started it.....Keith's best friend is now a cardiologist. When he was an doing an ER rotation, he once had to pull a GERBIL out of someone's butt!!!! I am not kidding. Seems there is this whole kinky sex thing that involves liking the feeling of a live gerbil in said orifice. My heavens. I will say no more, because once you hear that, you will never forget it. The gerbil was dead. You're welcome.

Robin, you know, I thought I'd be sad too when the boys grew up, but life has a way of moving you along with them. When they're 8 and 9, you can't imagine it, but there is a great satisfaction and gratification to watching them evolve and grow. Moving on in their lives is what they need to do and should do, and you'll want them too. It's very fulfilling, just in a different way.

I dragged K to his very first master's swim today on his day off. He swims 1x/week for about 20-30'. That's it. By 1700, he was really trailing and pooped. I was dying too, but I would not miss the start of an interval for love nor money. I was pummeling, and could not let up. Had to beat him into the ground.

Came home, walked Cali in the woods on a gorgeous day, and she rolled in POOP again! Had to wash her in the yard. Yuck. But at least I didn't have to pull anything out of her butt.

Then I did an easy frequency run for about 25' since it's gorgeous out , and it's going to rain/snow tomorrow. Keith's putting the snow tires on the cars, becausse , unfortunately, tis the season.

  • Question!!! OK...two questions.....17 year old daughter is mulling over doing 70.3 NOL with me in April. I think they are having a difficult time filling it because they are offering a discount now. Probably the poor support execution last year. Anyway...what are your thoughts on this? The swim and bike will be no problem but I'm worried about being that young and doing the run. She will be 4 months from 18 years old and probably 3 months from Coast Guard boot camp......I'm waffling. I told her I would put it out here and see what everyone says.

Question 2....I am NOT running outside the winter. I have been tough for the past eight years that I have been running....my threshold has been as long as it's at least -10 with the windchill, I'll go. I run with a woman who is more than hardcore. She will argue to go at 14 below with windchill because it's really on 4 more degrees.....so that being said, any recommendations on treadmills? I'm heavy, my husband is heavy and my daughter is small but will be running on it.....

Everyone have a WONDERFUL weekend. I'm going to a women's candlelight dinner tonight. Women in the church each decorate a table with a theme and then invite 7 women to sit at their table and there is a social time, dinner, dessert and an inspirational speaker. Two years ago a woman who had lost all three of her teenage daughters in a car accident spoke and it was incredible. How does one get over that? Anyway, it's always good and there is no discussion of anal leakage or anything of that nature.....which is always a good thing at the dinner table. Here's hoping every animal and human caregiver has none of that going on this weekend!!!

Thanks to all of you for your inspiration and encouragement always.....
  • RE:  NOLA.  did it this year.  okay so my son is 18 and how would I feel if he were to do a 1/2?  well #1 he isn't trained up to it.. so concern would be that she would be safe out there.  but if she were used to doing triathlons, swimming and riding and the like?/  not sure why the run is scaring you and not say the swim??    do you mean she isn't a runner and wouldn't be trained for 13 miles?  or do you mean unsafe as in crowds and spectators...  or you don't mean you worry about safety you just worry if the whole thing is good idea??  for sure take her to the weekend as it sounds like she will be leaving you soon and a nice weekend together whether she is watching you or racing in it will be a good memory.  I think she does some of this stuff too.  if i remember correctly.  I didn't feel unsafe out there if that is what you were getting at.  Gratned the whole 70.3 is daunting and normally they recommend 18 year olds for IM... but you would have a sense of whether or not her body can do it.    The thing is it is in early april and you live cold so you gotta get that training in... so being a teenager will she get out there and run said tng distances and ride X?  it was tricky for me in AR to do this one too due to our wet, cold springs and being outside....so if it were this Mom/daughter nag thing "you gotta go ride 40 miles today!" rather than "let's go ride 40 miles today!" when the whole weather thing is yucky.. well, not sure what y'alls relationship is.  so a long winded answer to say dunno!!!

don't know about the treadmills.  sounds dreadfull.. running in that cold OR running on dreadmill.

Linda weather sounds nice!!  sick son and medicine pickup cut short my said shopping excursion but did get boyz gifts!  no clothes though!  m

  • Giving a shout out to all you chickas!! I have immersed myself in non-tri things since our return from IMAZ and have only been peeking around in here.

Expecting some snow here overnight- exciting for us !! I am making some leek-potato soup and we are going to decorate our GI-NOR-MOUS Christmas tree.

    Everyone have a great weekend!!

  •  Hey Marianne....my concern is the distance on the run and whether or not it is a good thing for a young adult.  I gotta believe it is no worse for her than for my nearly 50 year old body.  I'm not too worried about her being ready to do it. She did 11 triathlons this past summer and two of those included 1 mile swims so I think she would be disciplined enough to do it.  Kathy on here can tell you she is actually pretty hardcore when it comes to training....she crabs at me all the time .  So...my only concern is really her age and the amount of running she will have to do at her age.  I assume, and the medical people here would know, that her growth areas are complete by 18?  She hasn't grown a single portion of an inch since 16 years old much to her dismay with her 5'3" height.

Yeah....not looking forward to treadmill but today was 16 with a windchill of -6.  If it had been a run day....I would have wimped out.  I keep justifying the expense of a treadmill by telling myself..."I was really good and turned down my husband's discussion of buying an endless pool...so really...I saved $20,000, right?"  I doubt he would have pulled the trigger on that anyway, but I did say this morning, really hon, since we didn't get the endless pool....what do you think about a treadmill?  He laughed and told me I was a weasel.

Have a good weekend.  Hope your family is on the mend.  How was your husband today?

  • Hi ladies,

Ready for this.... We have a 717 pound female patient in our hospital. Our Physical Therapy Dept is afraid we will get orders !!! Please for the love of all petite therapists who love their bodies the way they work now...NO!!! Let's hope we don't. It takes 3 people to hold 1 leg up with nursing!

OMW...that poor woman.  I can't imagine.  I'm 40 lbs overweight and feel like a freight train....can you imagine?  I hope for your sake she is just in for something else....How does your heart even continue to work at that point?

  • 717!!!! How is that even possible to get to that? You don't catch yourself at 300? 400? 500???? So sad. Carrie you, could never handle that. Cough, cough--I think you're feeling sick if you get that call.

Sheryl--if it were me, I would have strongly discouraged my boys to run that far at that age. Race day is one thing. It's all the training and distance leading up to it. It's a long life, and, if it were me, I'd encourage her to stick with the shorter distances for a good long time. But take my opinion with a grain of salt. I'm really, really conservative about this kind of thing. I talked Taylor out of doing a 3 mi ocean swim race last summer. Why blow a shoulder out? My two cents.

  • I had on black nail polish for the last two weeks cuz my nails were so short I had to polish them to stop biting. I like the black but when I had to take it off left kind of a bluish smear.  Toes are dark brown.  Did both main and pedi myself. Sally Hansen 60 second dry polish works.  Now that it's cold I will probably put the black on again during a moment of boredom.

LOL posting on tri site about nail polish. Very cool.

  •  Sheryl- Is there age limit for 70.3. I know IM is 18. Sounds like your daughter is used to training  already. Just think how ready she'll be for boot camp 1 month later. Pretty sure by now the growth plates are complete, but not an ortho/peds expert

Michele- Welcome home! Hope you feel better soon! I picked up something on my flight to AZ, not fun

CC-that is just unbelievable. 717 lbs . Lets hope no PT consult, and if so be safe! Wait til Monday until enough people are around to help out if needed?

Gina- Great to hear from you- have fun decorating, yummy soup! We're expecting snow/rain mix tomorrow up here

     Have great weekend evryone

  • Sheryl - can't help you with the daugher issue, but we have a Landice treadmill and love it!  We bought it at one of those specialty pro-type workout equipment stores and have had zero problems in 4 years.  I still hate running on it but it's not the treadmill's fault...

Carrie - I can't even imagine a 717 pound woman.  I'm having a rough go of losing 5# - your patient's  loss needs seem nearly impossible.  Good luck to her!

Gina - good to see you back?  Where is that race report?

  • Where to start...

Marianne- Glad to hear that DH is slowly on the mend. The hardest part about being healthy and then getting a serious knock down is maintaining the positive attitude. You start to think that the light at the end of the tunnel went out and this is permanent. I deal with that a lot. Since I do worker's comp, many are also angry and that slows down the recovery. Maintain a positive outlook. It helps.

Kitima and all others with the job and nasty body fluids- I remember those days well and don't really miss them. Thanks for the reminder!

Sheryl- On the one hand, boot camp is going to be way harder than training, and I don't think you get to run in nice sneakers during boot camp. I started running at age 12 and have never stopped ( I am 41). I started at 3 miles and my mom worried more about my safety out on the road. I don't think I could have done a 70.3, but I did a 10k and my mom was proud that I finished. Well, a 10k is almost half way there. Your daughter can always walk portions. My $.02

So ladies, when writing a reply, I miss having the other posts lower down the page (like in 3.0) so I can review. I am not going to start taking notes when reading so I can keep up.

Before leaving for vaca- I wrote a list of things to do when I get home. Changing the hub batteries in PT is top of that list. Gonna do that later today. Will be my first time and have had PT since xmas '08.

Update on my computer, which I am using. I had dropped it off at Geek Squad before leaving. Remember now, had backed up pics, docs, training info on external hard drive (right?). Came home to Geek Squad message that hard drive was bad from the factory and they had sent it out for full replacement. It is now ready. I get it. I reinstall data from external hard drive and there is NOTHING! The factory corruption prevented it from going to external hard drive! Huge bummer! But it is not life threatening. just disappointing- keep it in perspective! Seems to be working except does not fully recognize my ipod. I'll get that fixed next month or so. Oh and Kudos to training peaks. For the 2nd time they gave me a new key to get WKO+. Sux that I have no old data, but that's life.

Camera that had the black screen of death got fixed and went on vacation. We did not take many land pics as we were there last year and had plenty. Of course.... those are the pics that no longer exist on my computer/ external hard drive..... DARN!

  • M, yep you are right, I would also refer back to what other chicks had said so I didn't miss anybody.... hadn't thought about it... but yes....  good to see you are back and posting...

I am thinking about KrisF today as she runs, it is quite chilly this morning.....  okay girls, I got to laughing last night as I came up with this little ditty.....  I have not done any training to speak of since last Saturday when I had that great bike workout... and right now have no desire either, as I look out and see how cold it is!!  so coffee now and here is my little song about my last week!

to the sounds of "the 12 day of Christmas"...

    1.  On the first day of Christmas, I put up my tree!  hang the stockings, get out the dishes, do the chores and mail and send out the cards!

    1.  on the second day of Christmas, my car is dead! my credit card is missing!  I try to run and my hamstring gives out.

    2.  on the 3rd day of Christmas we go to church, eat lunch out,  help a friend move and a trip to Fresh Market!

    3.  on the 4th day of Christmas, my husband can't move, sitting by the toilet, laying in the bed, vertigo & vomit! and a trip to Kroger's Pharmacy!

    4.  On the 5th day of Christmas, dentist and doctor's!  FIVE hours.....blood work & needles, waiting in offices and a trip to Krogers Pharmacy!

    5.  On the 6th day of Christmas, husband gets a CT and an MRI,.. cold offices and lots of rain and still no running!

    6.  On the 7th day of Christmas I finally get to swim!  and TJ MAXX!  son's MRI, basketball, gymnastics and a trip to KROGERs pharmacy!

    7.  On the 8th day of Christmas, a return trip to TJ MAXX, a sick son at school and a trip to Kroger's Pharmacy!

    8.  On the 9th day of Chrismtas, I sit here timidly.... what is gonna happen?  who will be sick?? and when will I run or bike again??!

  • Michele! SO glad you are back. To see whole threads, scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on "topic review." The rest of the posts come up. Dave Corso had to show me that! 4.0, even when you get used to it (and I don't think I ever will be) is HUGELY slower than 3.0 to navigate. I've had to realize that I will never be fully engaged like I used to be. Others realize that too. There is just something completely overwhelming about this new forum.

Sheryl--if you get a tmill, I'll get one too.  Seriously, I am d-o-n-e running in weather and temps like that. Did it for years, and know there is nothing to prove there, and nothing to gain. Who can run well in zero degrees and wind chill? It becomes ridiculous. I am on the hunt this weekend. I started this thread in 3.0, and lots of good info about what other ENers own and what they think. Having a treadmill will save me a lot of time driving to the gym for a quick 30' run in snow and ice.

Off to run today instead of biking. I'll do that in the cave tomorrow when we're supposed to get 3-7" of snow. See y'all later!

  • Michele -- check out the second pic in this doc: It shows you how to change forum settings to make posts appear at the top, etc.

Marianne -- your song is hilarious! I will most likely be singing along to it in the pain cave later this afternoon.

Gina - Tree! I went to see the giant Macy's (Marshall Fields) tree in the Oak Room at lunch yesterday. Even though Macy's is trying to ruin that grand old department store, there's still a little magic around. I love seeing that tree.

Winter running and treadmills: Anything below ten, I go to the gym. I love running outside, with the crisp air, and even crunchy snow. But six below is gross. Treadmill then = smart.

Working out for me will be this afternoon. It is now coffee drinking and scone eating time. Goals for the weekend? I get to design a website for the MOL and want to become the grand master of understanding WKO; also, figure out how to make the powermeter display power number every few seconds.

    Happy saturday!

  • Sheryl: There's still alot of controversy about high volume running and weight lifting in teens. I'm not a pediatrician or pediatric orthopedists, but the conventional wisdom (not based on any good research) is that children shouldn't do alot of high volume high-impact exercise or weight lifting until their growth plates in their long bones have stopped growing. For a girl, this will typically happen sooner than for boys who can continue to grow into their early 20's. So for an IM or marathon, I would say no. But a HIM close to her 18th birthday...Hmmm. See what her pediatrician has to say.

Carrie: 719 pounds...Someone should have a serious discussion with this person about gastric bypass. That is life-threatening morbid obesity, not to mention a work injury for all involved in her care waiting to happen.

Gina: Good to hear from you and that you are decompressing from the IM. What a great way to spend the off-season.

Michele: So glad to have you back! I'm gonna look into getting an on-line hard drive back up after reading about your external drive woes.

Apologies for keeping this topic going: One of my training pals for IMLP 07 is a vet tech. On one of our long rides, we compared notes...what had she seen pulled out of a dog's GI tract vs. what I had pulled out of a person's rectum. My list went like this: enormous anatomically correct vibrator, big blue bottle of Nivea lotion, Aquanet hair spray bottle, La Choy soy sauce bottle, a glass vase, those dishwashing dispenser with brush on the end. Her list: tampons, tennis balls, racket balls, maxipads, plastic green army men. The item that took the first prize came from her: a size 18, hot pink thong! It belonged to the dog's owner.

  • Your list is really impressive, Kitima.  I ...just...can't...imagine....

We have had boarded dogs vomit up underwear before, including a very large Victoria's Secret thong.  Everyone always gets such a kick out of it.  We also had some clients board their labrador because it had eaten a James Avery charm that was to be a Christmas present for their daughter, and they wanted US to do the dirty work of "waiting for it".  We found it, all right, but it had tooth marks in it, and, well, would you really want to wear a charm that travelled through a dog's digestive tract?

My list of surgically removed items includes tennis balls, a synthetic wine cork, a cat toy (from a cat), and, my favorite, a giant hairball in a dog that took up the entire lumen of his stomach.  This little dog had a habit of licking the carpet and furniture, and his owner had very long hair.  Eew.

We're going to decorate our Christmas tree today, but I have an 11 mile run to get through first.    Have a great day, everyone!

  • Helloooooooooo Ladies!  Shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I'm finally back from down under!  It was an amazing trip and I hope to post a Vacation Report for everyone with pics some time early this week.  It's going to take me HOURS to try to catch up and I've resigned to myself that I'm just going to have to mark everything "read" and start from scratch.  Except of course this thread which I'll have to work through slowly this week (although looking at the more recent page of posts on the animal/rectum topics I'm a little skeeered! )

So, if anyone has suggestions on threads I darn well better read to know what the heck is going on around here- please tell me!!!

PS.  Congrats to Gina & Carrie for your races.  Gina- I've gathered from my scanning that your day was a pretty tough one, but I'm also glad to see you have really taken some much much needed time away from triathlon!  Carrie- I know your outcome wasn't what you'd hoped for either, but it sounds like you really put forth an amazing effort of persistence and showed great integrity by finishing all three loops of that bike leg- and a great attitude too.  I'm so proud of you both!

PPS. Found out via text mssg while in NZ that Joe's brother was put into rehab after the family uncovered some hidden truths during Thanksgiving dinner.  Scary stuff and TOTALLY unexpected from this particular member of the family.  He's on the right track but it's going to be a rocky road for the whole family.  Very hard for us to deal with while away and we're just now trying to get totally caught up on all the story.  That's kinda the priority right now, so I hope (and know) you all will be a little patient with me as I catch back up to speed on all things EN.

PPS.  I came home from vacay to find my email flooded with messages about our local OBX Tri Club and it seems I was nominated for Club President while away!  YIKES!  My head is spinning, I need to give this all some thought!

  • Yay!!! Nemo's back!!!! Can't wait for pix and a full report. I hope you loved it. And if you tell us you're moving there, I'm going too. image

Yes this thread has recently devolved into one hysterical litany of anus talk! Didn't you miss us????? image You know how this thread goes from the sublime to the ridiculous!

Re EN--I can't think of anything important you missed. 4.0 is still confusing, if you ask me, but it's getting better. RnP are working hard to respond to our bitchin' and moanin' about how aggravating it can be. I wouldn't want to be them. I would totally mark it all read and move on. Really no big news here.

You'll be happy to know, I have not been involved in any further dust ups with the NOS men. image I don't really check in there or post much anymore. Just no community vibe for me overall. Plugging away on all the workouts, and doing the best I can. The OS is a LOT more reasonable than our first year. Remember that? 10K tests, and FTP test every month. This is almost enjoyable.

So sorry about your BIL. If it's prescription Rx, it's rampant. We've gone through a lot with K's brother too, and now we really don't even know where he is. Just gone into a sad haze of drugs and alcohol. Very, very tough on his parents, and the sibs.

Sooooooo glad you're back. Much, much fun ahead for all of us in the coming year!

  • Welcome home, Nemo! We missed you so much!!

It always takes me a while to decompress and catch up after a long vacation like that. Don't rush it. Come back when you're ready.
